hello fellow systems,

in light of simply plural and octocon shutting down, i’ve decided to take some time to make a list of possible alternatives! good luck everyone!!

simply plural/octocon alternatives!!!!

pluralme - pros: well organized, easy to use, can import from sp ; cons: no friends, you have to pay to use certain features after a 2 month trial, no archived setting

pluralis - pros: free! ; cons: you have to enter your phone password to do anything, very annoying and oddly organized, can only import from pk, no friends

ourcana - pros: very cool set up, pretty customizable, sp import!!, i can’t figure out how to archive members but im pretty sure you can?? ; cons: takes a minute to figure out how to use at first, no friends, app costs 99¢ (but website is free and works just as well as a home screen bookmark)

pluralkit - pros: popular and easy to use, sp import ; cons: no app or direct sharing of front with friends, relies on access to discord

pluralLog - pros: lots of features, easy to use, clean set up, can archive members, free ; no friends, no sp import

system connect - pros: interesting features like innersystem relationship tracking, can add friends!!!!! ; only a website, crashes a lot, currently down(???), likely coded with AI (according to an anon ask i got)

hivemind - pros: very similar to sp ; cons: android only (i haven’t tried it because of this and can’t speak more on its specific features)

pluralspace - pros: very similar to sp, lots of great features, can add friends(!!!), sp import(!!!!!!), easy to use ; cons: app is only available on android, but the website (pluralspace.app) works just as well and you can add it as a bookmark to your home screen!

non system specific apps that might work too??:

milanote - pros: free, completely customizable, very visual ; cons: zero import, everything is from scratch

notes app - pros: easy to use, good for people who like to write a lot ; cons: could be tough to find a format that works well, especially with logging front

notion - pros: tutorials on how to make it work for a system, supposedly easy to use, inconspicuous ; cons: similar to milanote where you would have to build everything yourself

mindly - pros: easy to use, visual maps, lots of space to write ; cons: not meant for system tracking, more for inner world mapping or journalling

foretelling - pros: very visual, good for mapping and writing ; cons: i personally couldn’t get it to work, like the app wouldn’t open for some reason

discord - pros: free, customizable, easy to use ; cons: the only way i can see this working is making a server for mapping you system with different channels and the using pluralkit

physical journalling - pros: completely customizable, lots of inspo and tutorials available ; cons: can be tedious and confusing at the start
