Hello ! Thank you for asking !! For Reasons, I cannot tell you about Asriel ;P But I Can talk about Flowey !!!

Flowey is a Mischievous little thing... And he is also a reflection of the Player. This is Very important (especially for one of the Routes), so I thought a Highlighter does it justice!! Used along with pencils often, it Emphasizes and puts a spotlight on the writing, like certain words or phrases, like how Flowey makes you Reflect on your actions and even your Existence in Undertale ! Pencils and Highlighters can alter other text by Choosing what's important-- Pencils by underlining, boxing, what have you, and the Highlighter by ..well.. Highlighting-- and it's a bit like their ability to alter their world with SAVEs. (Flowey's case is just a little different because he has already Done everything by the time Frisk falls.) Pencils and Highlighters also have the potential to work well together (making a good page of notes), but they also have the potential to work Against each other (highlighter smudging pencil lines, too much highlighter would render the text useless, pencil graphite muddying highlighter ink). This is similar to Flowey antagonizing you throughout the game, and trying to trick you, as well as the Player gaining Flowey's respect, getting him to feel Fear, and getting rid of him.

There is a Liiiiiiiittle more to him, but Alas... this is all I can reveal for now !!! ;P

Your Craftstale thing gives me ideas for a Deltarune equivalent, would you be fine if I did something like that, I guess? I'm asking because I know some AU creators. Uh. Don't like that

It also begs the question of: Can unrelated monsters have the same type of supply, I guess? Because my idea for Noelle was to do White-Out, but that's already Asgore's.

Hello! Thanks for asking !! I don't really Own the idea of "Characters Themed Around Art Supplies", so you can do Whatever You Want, Forever !

And the way I set my AU up is that all monsters have a Different art supply-- most of them, even if they Are family or related, ended up having their Own because I determined it with mostly their Personality, Connection With Others, and Role in the story in mind (such as the Dreemurrs). Though, there are just a Few monsters who Do share supply types because they are so similar and have a similar purpose and vibe in the story (like the rabbits in Snowdin).

Though really, you can do whatever you want! You can even Change the characters' supplies around and do what you wish! My interpretations and designs aren't really meant to be like "This Is Strictly What Supply They Are", it's just how I would interpret them in my AU, and putting my ideas out there to Share :] Feel free to be creative and make your own versions !! My AU isn't an end all be all ;P (Just be sure to tag me because I want to see what you make !!!)

Question about craftstale Undyne, Is she just regular and her armor is pins? Or something else?

Also, it’s funny, the design’s passively remind me of Darkners, in a way

Her magic is completely tied to Push Pins (like all the other characters with their respective craft supply), so her magic attacks are also Push Pin related! (Even her hair has taken on the tint of the Metal of her push pins...)

And, despite seeming similar to Darkners, they are Not Darkners :] This AU is just playing with the concept of all the characters having a tie to a craft supply-- I thought it would be Fun and Interesting to play around with, and I wanted to try Translating and Visualizing their relationships in terms of art mediums !! (Really, it's just a "Cosmetic" AU, so the only thing that really changes is their Theme being tied to a Craft Supply...)
