Feels a bit strange to see all these institutions for the arts get taken apart by “wealthier” corporations just so they own more IP. And, I say wealthier in quotes because the value is only from inflated valuations and not anything liquid. Anyway, it’s not even for the sake of creating something good with said IP, they just want to squeeze the juice out of it. Makes me feel a little hopeless.
It makes me wonder where art of all mediums can live. Regardless of the condition that humanity could be in, people will still create. My fear is that the access to what is made will be harder than it needs to be. To me, accessibility is what pushes creativity forward. If certain works are being held behind multiple paywalls or are only in limited spaces, how will we move forward? The world we live in now, more than ever, seems to be only focused on profit. Unfortunate for us who like to create, art doesn’t create profit in the material sense. It’s hard to translate acclaim into dollars. So it makes me wonder, in a world where the sole purpose is profit, can creativity actually progress?
Last few I really liked. 400 ISO is probably going to be my preferred choice, because I don’t go through a roll in a few hours. The night shots came out pretty well and with some small edits, you can get some good color.
The last photo is probably the best photo I’ve ever taken. I took it on the way back home. We pulled over to this scenic view and I had few shots left in the roll. I can’t stop looking at it. Kind of surprised myself with that.
Some of my favorite shots from a weekend in the mountains here in Virginia. Really fun experience with some friends while also making new ones. Got some pretty good shots with my Pentax. The blurred one was an accident for sure though.
Miscellaneous shots from a little bit ago. Was trying to see what Kodak Ultramax was like. Some people hate, I kind of prefer it as a cheaper option.
My current conundrum right now is trying to get someone to understand that quality takes time and that always being in a rush kills all of that. How do you explain that without stepping on their ideas? I can't find the answer
