🔓 who has his heart?
He has his own heart at the moment but Demetria is slowly grasping her little hands around it
🔓 favourite weapon?
Kursat has a jade knife that he keeps hidden underneath his armor. He never pulls it out unless for complete emergencies and for sneak attacks. It belonged to his grandfather whom he never met and it was the only thing his father kept of his old life. So the knife is very special to him. Whenever he goes to other countries he tries to find similar patterns like his knife to give him any remote idea of where he could of came from.
🔓 thoughts on Demetria? can they just marry (an fulfil my dream of the Moon and Stars being together?:D)
ahaha
Kursat really cares for and adores Demetria, he had no intention to, but that only make the bond he is creating with her stronger. He admires her intelligence, her wit, she is a woman who takes charge and completely capable and he likes that. She is just the right amount of sugar and spice to him. He is very protective over her and will literally come running at her becking call. This is all new to him

carlos sighed as he watched the ink drip down his hand. he hated when that happened, but it was just frustrating. he hated wasting materials like that, even though he had the money to pay for new stuff now, it still went against his fears as a child, where ink could cost as much as a months’ lodging, even if the paintings he could sell with that ink would make much more. he wiped the ink off of his hand.
“sorry, i’m not always this clumsy and frustrated,” he said. “you can look. and that sounds like a good plan. would you mind if i joined you? i promised my wife that i would become a better fighter in case of battle. i am not good at it yet, and i would the opportunity to learn more.”
Kursat nodded his head to agree for carlos to join him, but concern washed over him. He walked towards Carlos, his lips pursed tight together. “I understand your intentions, but war is complicated” He sighed, choosing his words carefully. “It’s something you must be sure of, no doubt can run in your bones, cause doubt can kill. Doubt your next move, doubt your opponents strength, and it will be the end.” He squatted so he was not standing over carlos, his words only intending to be a proper friend. “Are you sure, you’re ready for that?” He paused. “Are you ready to kill someone in cold blood?”

Demi’s soft and petite hand was the complete opposite of his rough and calloused oversized one. She didn’t lean away as he moved closer and through his words he leaned even closer to her. She clung to every word he spoke and didn’t draw her eyes away from him the entire time. A genuine smile came across her lips as he laughed. It wasn’t something she had seen often and the laugh itself was enough to put a giddy smile on her face. When he spoke about his hair and his mother using his different type hair against him, Demetria’s features softened. Without hesitation she reached her free hand forward towards Kursat. She gently let her fingers run from his temple down his hairline to feel his hair and down towards his beard with a smile. She let her hand stop and linger around his jaw line as her eyes moved from his eyes to his lips. “I like your hair.” Demi had never felt this kind of emotion or feeling come over her before but it excited her and she didn’t want it to stop. She leaned forward and now their faces were just inches apart. “I like who you are…” She whispered before pressing her lips against his.
As their faces inched closer, Kursat held his breath. It was a silly thought of his, that if he didn’t breathe, if he didn’t cause any disturbance to the space they were in, that time would not move. She was looking at him in a way he was not looked at before, she was looking through him, into him. Seeing him deeper than what he was telling her, it was a raw feeling because he felt like he had already said enough..that he was talking too much. She had a way of making him feel like he was the only thing that mattered in the room. He spent most of his life pretending to blend in. Blend into the Ottoman culture, blend in to his father’s wishes, blend in to what his mother wanted him to be. Here he was with a woman he had just met and she made him feel the opposite. And it felt good.
Her delicate lips touched his and he had never felt anything so soft. She was a woman who knew what she wanted, her actions purposeful and he liked that. He kissed her back, wondering if his facial hair, his nose, everything he stood out like a sore thumb to others, was soft enough for her. He tried to be. He leaned in closer to her, but respectfully, more willing to follow her lead with anything. “I like who you are too, Demi” He said inbetween kissing her. He didn’t have to hold his breath to freeze time. It froze every time their lips touched. The feeling of nothing and everything wound of inside of him. He did not think, only acting. He mimiced her touch, placing his large hand on the side of her face, his hand in her hair. Telling her that he saw her too, that he was looking into her too. That she was seen

Demi hadn’t expected Kursat to be so open with her. But she clung onto every word he said. When he admitted he was trying to get to know her which was new territory for him, her eyes met his with a warm smile on her lips. She hadn’t pulled her eyes away when he reached out towards her. She gently took his hand and it felt calming and warm. Pressing her lips together with a smile she said, “Well… my name is Demetria Sverker. But you can call me Demi. Not many people get to.” She grinned. “I love oysters, clams, any fish really.” It may have seemed random but Demi was giving him what he wanted, to know her. “My father and I do not have a relationship after years of belittlement and neglect. Not to mention trying to sell me to any single prince or king that came along.” Her eyes glanced down for a moment before looking up to him. “I love when it snows, here in Norway. I love to sneak out and go night swimming.” She smiled and it slowly faded. “I’m afraid that my father will be right. That my compassion is a weakness and will be my downfall.” She looked at Kursat, eyes full of compassion. “But I don’t see it as a weakness.” Her voice was soft and she smiled gently. “Does that that help to get to know me? I hope you like what you see.” She asked in a slightly teasing voice with a flirty smirk on her lips as she moved a little closer to him.
When she took his hand, he was surprised but not afraid. Her hands were so soft and so warm. He wasn’t used to soft things.. soft people. He took every word that she said, almost as if it was a savory treat. Leaning forward into her as she told him who she was. “Demi” He repeated after her. It helped a lot, so much. He barley took the time to know things like that with others. “Very much so” He said truthfully. “I think I told you most of my story last time. But..” He met her even closer. “Where I live, it gets so cold that it snows, but so hot that you can lay out in the sun. I can handle the cold, but prefer the warm. I cannot swim” He admitted. He never had the time or desire to. “I do not see your compassion as a weakness, but a strength. You can bring people to rally with your words, that is a strength many do not have. Nor I. I have to use only force.” He paused. “I like sweets, even though I should not indulge in them often” He laughed. “My favorite meal is Kavun dolması . It is meat and rice in a fruit. It sounds strange but it holds a lot of flavor” His lips parted. “My father and I are close. I do not agree with a lot of the decisions he made, but that is why I am different. Stronger. My mother passed when I was a teenager. I do not remember her much. Just when she did my hair.” He laughed. “She was a native, but she said things to me to remind me that I wasn’t. It was why she was so obsessed with my hair. She would say it was too coarse, too wild. I was her wild boy. Her mut.” He pursed his lips together, it never bothered her until other people called him that when he was older.

“Ciaro?” she smiled just saying the name. “A beautiful name. Perhaps once it is safe, we can travel to your home country, but you must be there to show me around.” Her eyes drifted to her father on the other side. He was smiling as another man showed a new trick he was working on. “So many of the people see our ability to leave as freedom. They don’t see the cost as a trap. My father probably enjoys it most of all. I couldn’t ask them to give up a lifestyle they love for me.”
“It’s some where south of The Ottoman empire. It’s warmer there, full of sand. I want to see it” He said proudly. “I will see it” He bit his lip when she mentioned coming to his home. It was a story for later. “Eventually he will need a place to settle. He cannot travel like this forever. I would put the bug in his ear.” He said honestly. He could not imagine carrying and traveling with his father. He wouldn’t leave him behind, but he definitely wouldn’t carry him around.

Snow gently fell from the gray skies overhead as Estrid wandered through the camp. Many of the men and women around her were still in training, learning how to fight before they were sent off to the front lines. She was to meet someone here, a man named Kursat who was working as a spy for Norway and she wasn’t too keen to trust him. They had met once or twice, mostly when he spoke to Halvdan or Demetria, but he so easily traded loyalties that Estrid was sure he could so easily do it again and betray them. May Odin give her strength should that come to pass.
He stood out like a sore thumb among the others by the roaring fires. His armor so different from that of a typical Norwegian soldier. The others glanced at her and when she nodded her head towards the group they silently dispersed. “Well Kursat, it has been some time since I last saw you. I almost thought you had finally left us for good.”
Kursat knew Estrid’s hesitation towards him. It was understandable, reasonable, but it didn’t irritate him any less. Yeah, he switched sides, but she did not know his entire story. The more they met, the more her words, her presence bothered him.. down to his bones. He did not have to explain his story to her, nor even get her to understand.
When he saw him approaching him, he sighed. He didn’t even look at her, trying not to engage. “Estrid” He said nodding his head. “Shame, I was actually praying for more time for us not to see one another” He said shortly. “And trust me, I am not a man of prayer.”

“The Mughal Empire was wonderful. It was so unique and flavorful. I also loved Italy and France. I have yet to see your country.” She sighed. “It would be risky. I wouldn’t know the first thing about settling down and having a permanent home. Not to mention if I settled someonewhere, I would leave behind my family. So I would be alone.”
“I have not been, but I would suggest visiting my home country. It is like no other. I am in love the more south that I go. I want to touch the sand of a place called Ciaro. Why would your family not move with you?”
demetriaxsverker:
It wasn’t that she disliked war talk, but when it became the only thing she ever talked about she preferred a break. His words were smart and she nodded once before speaking, “There are more things to a home than just strength.” Demetria spoke plainly and softly. “My father was one of strongest men out there with the strongest kingdom and yet it never felt like a home.” She pressed her lips together softly. “For me, it is the people.” She paused with a small smile on her face. “The ones you smile around, the ones who you can relax around…” Her green eyes landed on Kursat. “The ones you want to be around and not because of war loyalties.”
Kursat listened to Demi as she spoke. He knew what she was trying to say, but looking for strength was all he was taught to know. “I never tried to really get to know them” He said truthfully before drinking. “It’s hard to when you’re always looked at as other. “ He was speaking from the heart. “All I was taught was to look for is for strength. His entire life was uprooted because his home was not strong enough. He conceded to the empire because of strength” He stopped. “I am trying to get to know you. That is truly a first for me” He admitted. “I am hoping you can show me the way. That I can grow to have that. People I want to be around” He stopped and cleared his throat. His hand reaching towards her. “Not saying that I do not. It is why I came here before I left.”
morethanatitle:
She stayed beside him as he spoke. “It is all I have ever known.” Her eyes went to the people around them. “In some ways it is freedom, but in other times it feels more confining.” She looked back at him and lean in close. “For years, I thought it was freeing for us to live to our own way and go from country,” she whispered. “But now I wish I could settle down and live somewhere. I am not sure if that is possible for me.”
“What are your favorite places?” He asked genuinely. He could see her point, it sounded like freedom, but to him traveling all the time was exhausting, but it had a means to an end. There was no end ofr her. “How is it not possible?”
demetriaxsverker:
Demi felt a smile on her lips when he agreed to stay and have a drink with her. She had already moved to pour the two glasses of wine and as he told her he would prove his loyalty, he said specifically to her. Her eyes glanced over her shoulder and landed on his with a hidden grin before he quickly corrected his words. But she noticed. She poured the two glasses of wine to a reasonable amount and went to pick them up. But shooting Kursat a small smirk she poured more wine into each glass which was more than the acceptable norm. She handed him the over poured glass and held hers before taking a sip. “No war talk.” Demi told him. “I have enough of that every where else. I don’t need that with you.” She paused. “You said you don’t call anywhere home… why prove your loyalty to me?” She smirked. “I mean to us…”
He took the glass of wine from her, she was cunning and he liked it. “No war talk” He promised as he raised his glass to her, drinking out of her. “If I am going to call a place home, shouldn’t it be a place that will last. You guys are the strongest after all” He said truthfully.
morethanatitle:
She smiled at his concern for them. “We have scouts that leave early to bring food back before the markets get too crowded.” She shook her head and sighed. “Only your company. Are you able to stay for a while? We never had the chance to truly spend time together when I arrived.”
Kursat smiled slightly, he never thought someone really wanted to spend time with him. He nodded his head. “Of course” He said looking down at her. He leaned against the closest wall. “How do you live like this? Just letting life blow you whereever? “
