The Crash Combo joined by our pal Pat Robinson of The Itinerants will be atMolly Maguires Irish Pub and Restaurant in Clark this Sunday for a Halfway to St Pat's event that doubles as a fundraiser for the Clark NJ Fire Dept. We've done numerous events for departments in NJ and NY and they have always supported us in return. With relatives formerly on the job in the JCFD and also our own drummer Christopher O'Hara who was a volunteer firefighter for many years, this is definitely something that is close to home for us. Come on down, support the Clark FD and enjoy the afternoon with good friends and good music.

Now Playing on SiriusXM -- Flynn and Sean can be heard on Dave Marsh's SiriusXM show "Kick Out The Jams - Best of 2011 Part 2" which has been airing on The Spectrum. Both were part of Lisa Lowell's band that included Sherryl Marshall and Sessions Band drummer Larry Eagle. The band performed, in Marsh's words, "an extraordinary version" of Springsteen's 'Secret Garden'.

More Barney McKenna. His banjo is prominent on this clip of Rocky Road to Dublin. His banjo and Kelly's voice defined the Dubliners sound.

Barney McKenna of the Dubliners passed. He more or less created what is now known as the "Irish Tenor Banjo". Originally a mandolin player, he tuned the short scale tenor banjo to GDAE like a mandolin instead of the usual CGDA and brought it to popularity in his 50 years of playing in the band.
