Negro Red Cross Canteen, Meridian, Mississippi. April 21, 1920
This canteen unit, with the aid of the men in group, voluntarily undertook the establishment of a center for the wounded of their race in the storm of April 21, 1920, and at Lincoln School, Meridian, not only nursed, but fed and clothed scores of the storm-victims. Their leader, Nettie Majors, is not included in the group as she answered the first call for Red Cross help and with a group of white workers from the Lauderdale County Chapter A.R.C. went to Philadelphia to give needed aid there. In addition to the splendid work at Lincoln Center, the members of this Red Cross Unit of negro women served in many capacities at the Matty Herse (Charity) Hospital in Meridian.

it’s surreal to me that with all the documentation and resources created by and for trans people in the last 10-30 years the avg trans masc online knows so little about surgical options, righteous rage vs tumblr tenderqueer virtue signaling, risks of DIY, atrophy, and body hair on HRT —- basic aspects of medical transition should not be shocking to y’all
TikTok, 4tran, “p00ners”, chaser content truly rotted minds and cause mass incompetence
wet satin adult comics #2, 1978
Happy Black History Month to Baby Mase who was doubted dogged and dismissed by hoards of Peter Pan complex having transfags with daddy issues and no neck medicalist ftm bros who all went on to dominate social media and public perception of trans mascs despite being uninformed apolitical able bodied and privileged.
While all of them freak out now about losing brand deals, being clocked because they’ve put themselves everywhere or needing to do more than make chaser bait or sensationalized content I cannot help but cackle. Those of us who were too woke too fat too femme too dark too self loving to accept crumbs too real to be bought sold and commodified are all doing what we have always done; thrive and survive
Enchantingly Beautiful...
