Archeogenetics proves that the 'nuclear family' (1 mother/1 father/2.5 kids, pure monogamy forever and ever, amen) is actually a rather modern invention. And for millions of years we had a much more diverse approach to family structures.
It was this diversity that allowed us to become the dominant species on the planet. Why? Because we had the ability to emotionally bond with people in many different ways.
If humanity relied purely on 'one man, one wife, for life' we'd have gone extinct by now. We'd have 'Habsburged' ourselves to death.

Sometimes her sprints last for like 4 or 5 seconds and she can shoot herself off the couch or into a wall if she gets a grip with her back claws. If she does it next to a wall, her head smacking into it sounds like someone is trying to break into the house. She doesn't wake up.

Senior Pentagon leaders are putting together lists of uniformed US service members who will be offered the chance to attend the UFC fight at the White House next month hosted by President Donald Trump, but tickets will only be given to those who meet military body composition standards, according to guidance memos reviewed by CNN and sources familiar with the process.
“Ticket recipients are required to meet the DOW waist-to-height ratio standard of less than 0.55, as well as all service specific physical fitness test requirements,” one of the memos sent to service members says, using the Pentagon’s preferred acronym for the agency.
The Pentagon declined to comment on the guidance about the UFC event.
One defense official said the selection requirements for Trump’s made-for-TV UFC event send a very clear message to soldiers interested in attending: “No fattys.”
