Haha, It's funny how everyone says that Alex not changing the gender of loved ones in covers ("Katy on a mission" for exay) is so respectful. Like, watch, he is so gentle with ladies that didn't even manage to change "him" to "her". What a man! But if you think for a while, was it ever straight? The passion with which he sings "him" is almost burning. All of the soul chained in one word.

Of course he won't change the lyrics. Just imagine the opportunity of being yourself, even if it's only for one song

^This^ even the fact he chose to cover songs by female singers - Shirley Bassey, Girls Aloud, Amy Winehouse, Patsy - gay icon - Cline! The only male covers that spring to mind is the Drake one and The Lovers by Rod McKuen (the lyrics of which are...interesting)

Golden Trunks is about Miles Kane: A Theory

Context: Golden Trunks is a song off AM’s sixth studio album, Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino, released in May 2018. It was recorded between 2016 and 2018 in Paris, France, and therefore written around that time, whilst Alex Turner and Miles Kane were band mates in The Last Shadow Puppets. This song suggests that there is a mutual feeling of attraction between them.
