Instead of thinking about my exams, Iām over here thinking about a time travel fix-it Au! Where Basilio and Ibarra/Simoun time travel back at the beginning of Noli and have to work together to stop most of the tragedies from happening.
Imagine if they had to act like themselves too, but itās a bit of a struggle because after everything thatās happened, itās hard to remember who you wereā¦
I like to imagine that Simoun dresses so differently from Crisostomo, imagine Maria Clara or Elias wondering what happened to him. Imagine Simoun trying to act like Crisostomo, while knowing what these people are gonna do to him.
Imagine Basilio having to act like a regular ten year old again, but heās literally a med student who had the best(?) friend group, and wellā¦sometimes he really does want to go and do some autopsies.
Imagine the Simoun looking at Maria Clara and Elias like heāll never see them again. Imagine him trying to act like himself, but every time heās talking to Maria Clara or Elias, heās just walking on eggshells.
Imagine Basilio looking at Crispin and Sisa like heāll never see them again, imagine him sneaking off into the night to try his best and prevent them from getting hurt, even if it means distancing himself from them.
Imagine Basilio and Simoun arguing about how they should go about preventing the future.
When I told my friend about this Au, she suggested that Basilio and Simoun have to write down what happened to them and who they met, because they are afraid that theyāll forget them. So Basilio gets a high quality diary from Simoun, that he has to hide from his family. (He 100% hasā¦things šš written about Isagani and Juli, and maybe some other thoughts that he kept to himself)
Imagine if over the course of this fic, Simoun starts becoming Crisostomo again. But this time, a Crisostomo whose eyes are finally open to the injustice that riddles the country. But, while his no longer the past Crisostomo, he realizes that staying as Simoun wouldnāt be much better.
The reactions of the people around them are as follows:
Maria Clara and Elias start trying to figure out whatās wrong with Crisostomo after they get tired of his act. He does act like himself, but Maria Clara can clearly see that heās only acting, Elias becomes suspicious of Crisostomo after he almost dropped a fact that he shouldnāt have known by accident. Elias starts trying to follow Crisostomo, but since Simoun has been a revolutionary for a little over a decade now, heās good at covering up his tracks.
Crispin is worried about his brother constantly both always over him as if heāll disappear if Basilio looks a way for two seconds and leaving him to go home alone because of his ānew job,ā so after a long while he starts trying to follow Basilio to wherever heās going. Basilio catches him almost immediately, but Crispin is relentless. So Basilio eventually pulls a Simoun and starts covering his tracks as well.
Sisa is very, very worried for Basilio. First, he comes home acting a little strange, Crispin says itās probably because they had a bit of trouble at work, maybe she should have Basilio some space? Then Basilio starts coming home later, Crispin says he got an offer for better work, she should be happy about this, right? Then she finds a very expensive looking, new high quality notebook that clearly doesnāt belong to her, her husband, or Crispin. She looks through the notebook and finds drawings of a group of young adults, the most detailed being two drawings of a woman named āJuliā and a man named āIsagani,ā but the contents of the notebook are unbelievable, but whatās most unbelievable is that this notebook seems to be Basilioās diary! Basilio seems to be quiteā¦enamored with this āJuliā and this āIsagani,ā thoughā¦They definitely look too old for him!! Is this who heās now working for? Should she be worried? The notebook mentions a group of people who got arrestedā¦is Basilio working for this group? What should she do?
Note: This Au is still in the works and some things may change, itās also highly unlikely that Iāll write a fic for it right now, as Iām really busy with a lot of things. But, if you like this idea, feel free to write about it! Just credit me for any inspo.
