This is true. This is the way sociologists talk about racial dynamics.
The truth is, even the best, least racist white person ever still has racial bias. It’s deeply ingrained in our psyches through socialization because white people control most institutions. Our racist society teaches us to be racist. Even the least racist white person in the world catches themself sometimes thinking or saying something racist as a reflex. It’s frightening how deeply we are affected by sources of socialization actually.
Everything around us favors white people. We grow up experiencing a lot of representation of white people and very little representation of people of color. Look at television, look at advertising, look at any form of media. Why are there so many white people being represented? Because white people control the institutions that produce media.
