There were few things as frustrating in this life as a slow ass internet connection when the Wi-Fi signal was suppose to be excellent. McDonalds was a place of very low quality food for cheap prices which must have also explained the slow connection that was supposedly for free. Then again, the fluffy haired bounty hunter could not get internet anywhere else on his tablet at the moment so this location would have to suffice for now. Besides, the Big Mac with cheese and large fries were a welcome delight compared to all the Ramen noodles he had been eating for the last few days.
While he was scarfing down the last few fries he had remaining, Spike did his best to to ignore the irritating sound of screaming children that were sumo wrestling with each other in the ball pit next to him. As his fingers slid the tablet screen up as he continued reading the profile information of Tomb Raider ‘Lara Croft’; which his different colored orbs eventually widen at the few pictures of the female grave robber. This chick was actually extremely good looking, which surprised him because her rather prestigious reputation fit the description of some manly looking G.I Jane rather than some beautiful gal. Can’t judge a book by it’s cover right? Well if this was actually the woman he was currently seeking for a job, Spike would soon be in touch.
HER NAME HAD BECOME MUCH MORE common in conversation as of RECENTLY. What with her recent discoveries and ancient SECRETS brought to light. Or perhaps she was getting fame from the headlines in NEWSPAPERS and TABLOIDS. There were those that branded her “crazy” or “just like her father”. No one really believed in her stories of YAMATAI, they all dismissed her as another crazy Croft making up tales that weren’t REAL.
Though she didn’t like to admit it-- such talk secretly ate away at her. Her recent RESOLVE to find discoveries for herself, not others, did help with the whole situation, but she couldn’t help but want others to BELIEVE in what she was saying. The female thought so much good could come from these DISCOVERIES she made-- it’s such a shame that people are turning a blind eye to what was actually real.
Such conversations did not put a halt in her work, however, and she was more DETERMINED than ever to find the next hidden TOMB that lie dormant. There were others who wanted to beat her to the find, so she had to step up her game, put EVERYTHING she knew to the test and to trust her gut feeling when it mattered most.
Papers lie scattered on the ground before her, books-- sprawled open with sticky notes attached to several pages. Her finger HALTS on a word while brown optics shift to a corresponding note she had taken earlier. The pieces of the PUZZLE were slowly coming together and it would only be a matter of time before she set out on her next big ADVENTURE.
❝ Peru... ❞ her hushed voice rings, speaking to herself as if taking a mental note, ❝ ... Of course, it all makes sense. ❞
