I'm just going to say it - body hair (and beauty standards in general) is truly one of the final frontiers of women's issues in the West. Too many women just love their gilded cage too much. It shocks me how virulently women will defend it. I barely open my mouth and the "well I like how it feels. it just makes me feel cleaner. sensory issues. I do it for me. feminism is about choosing (to conform)." brigade come rushing in by the dozens.
Well I don't like how it feels. I don't feel cleaner without body hair. I don't prefer not having body hair. But who will advocate for women like me, but me? For women who do like hair removal, they are advocated for every time they step out of the house and see 99% of the female population also conforming to that standard, or when they watch a movie and see all the shaved actresses, or view an advertisment, or open a magazine, or watch a music video, or scroll through social media, or walk down the streets without receiving insults and glares for having a completely normal bodily feature.
You genuinely can't even point out that hairlessness is a man-made standard without women losing their shit and acting like they are totally immune to propaganda they've been exposed to from birth. I'm so tired.
These days as a butch who does not shave or wear makeup, I just wanna ask women who react to being told maybe they don't have to shave or wear makeup what on earth they're so scared of.
gnc trans ocs
(he/him for Hitch the mouse)
(she/her for Hitomi the cat)
they are gender non conforming in different directions and I wanna push that a lot more
but ultimately they love each other and their expression of themselves
i sometimes worry if like, I'm being weird but I remember so many ppl are like these two and tell me they feel represented (even for the first time) it makes me feel honored because they both mean so much to me as a trans person who also doesn't conform.
Camp Fees 4 Disabled Folks Survival
Hi, me and my family are homeless and trying not literally die this summer due to the heat. In order to do that (plus provide ourselves a stable-ish living space and basic hygiene) we need to be able to stay at a campground.
35CAD (25USD) is the rate per night, adjusted to include paypal fees. We have other expenses too, including food, cooking gas, vehicle gas, and storage bills.
Anything can help us a lot, boosts are appreciated, small amounts add up, etc.

We are not in the path of the storm according to the radar map but this is happening in the area we are in! So just in case:
Money for evacuation gas would be deeply appreciated!
one more thing I want to say is that the acronym for transfem voices project is TVP. it is not TFVP. there is only one TVP
the acronym everyone used was almost universally TVP until transmascvoicesproject showed up with its allowance of cis survivors and its focus exclusively on stories of abusive transfems, and suddenly there was TMVP and TFVP
no. there is only one TVP and it is transfem voices project. transfem voices project is not the "female counterpart" to transmascvoicesproject. these are not counterparts in any way. one is transfem voices project and one is a hate blog wearing its face. ours is the only TVP
oh, and
some people have been trying to rehabilitate the idea of "TVP for trans men," and I'd like to ask that these projects don't try to deliberately style themselves as counterparts to TVP
TVP is not the pink version of something blue, its existence since the outset has been as a fundamentally transfeminist project, and this purpose will be trivialized if it is presented on the same "shelf" as anything else, so to speak. TVP centers transfems because we are decentered everywhere else. if there is a companion project, our voices will inevitably be decentered in favor of it
if you take inspiration from TVP for your own project, that is fine, but I ask that you please not style it as a counterpart. if you lead with your heart and make something you believe in, you will be able to make something that stands by itself, rather than on the unseen shoulders of transfems
I love my girls so much..

Hamlet adaptation where Hamlet is a vlogger and all his soliloquies are breakdowns he uploads to YouTube
… I am unironically here for this
this is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in my life
This is - legitimately - my favourite delivery of Shakespeare I have EVER seen (and I have seen some good-ass productions yo, in the Globe Theatre itself even). Like seriously, even though the words are unchanged, he’s stripped away ALL of the archaic pretense and assumed grandeur of ~presenting the bard~ that makes even the most wildly talented of actors and innovative of productions inherently inaccessible to a modern audience. Like, they’re still great, they can still communicate the message and (some) of the nuance, but they’re still always a step removed from being identifiable to any viewer’s lived experience. They’re still always reciting 15th century poetry. But this guy? This guy is like, screw iambic pentameter, to hell with being precious about the material, HOW WOULD AN ACTUAL PERSON SAY THIS SHIT?
Like this. And it’s beautiful. It’s beautiful to hear a soliloquy I loved so much already, and have it come to life in a way it never, ever, did before. I feel like I grasp his motivations, his twists and turns, no longer on an academic level but on a visceral, instinctive one. Because he’s presenting his mental and emotional journey in a way that speaks honestly, like a real person.
So yeah, this shit post? I love it. Deeply and sincerely.
A post about this went round recently, and I’m delighted to announce she’s since come out as trans and goes by Jasmine 🏳️⚧️
Actor and Writer
