I got dressed in my traditional Indian regalia, but there was a man, he was the producer of the whole show. He took that speech away from me and he warned me very sternly. “I’ll give you 60 seconds or less. And if you go over that 60 seconds, I’ll have you arrested. I’ll have you put in handcuffs.”
- Sacheen Littlefeather in Reel Injun (2009), dir. Neil Diamond.
They were MAD, CONFUSED AND PRESSED that Marlon Brando would betray White Supremacy in this way. To this very day, they are TWISTED over this. And when Littlefeather got up there and READ THEM FOR FILTH, they GAGGED. For eons.
No one ever talks about how fucking John Wayne assaulted her backstage. This girl did not deserve this at all she was speaking the truth!
Perhaps our eyes need to be washed by our tears once in a while, so that we can see life with a clearer view again.
Some words from the tumblr user/ blogger, alliegiovanni, on John Mayer's song entitled, 'Stop This Train': "Say what you want about Mayer, but I truly believe that in a hundred years, when music critics look back on this era, John will be one of the greats. It doesn’t matter how old or young you are, you can relate to his music, especially this song in particular. The message is simple: about the recognition of growing up and growing older and accepting that you can’t stop time. Life is one very fast moving train, so it’s important to embrace it."
I love this excerpt from what appears to be a newspaper. Makes you stop and take moment to notice just how influential the little things are in life.
“There is a place. Like no place on Earth. A land full of wonder, mystery, and danger!” The Last Bookstore Los Angeles, California
This is amazing!
She is my inspiration, every damn day!
I love this!
I wanted to share this photo because when I used to watch 'Glee', this was the episode that Cory Monteith made an impression on me; the grilled cheesus. Basically in this episode, he found the face of Jesus on a grilled cheese sandwich and started to worship and pray to it. Such a talented actor and musician gone far too soon.
These are very true words to live by.
I apologize for not writing a post in a few weeks; life has taken over, as it always does. I leave you today with this motivational photo. Hopefully it encourages you to take that leap of faith and become who you want to be. Often times we follow what our parents or society wants from us, and don't get me wrong, usually what our parents instil in us is true, but just remember that you need to make things happen for yourself.
Happy Canada Day to all of my fellow Canadians. We have so much to be proud of in this vast and glorious country. Have a beautiful day.
Yes, I did it!!!
As I’ve grown, John Mayer is one of the few artists that have stayed with me. For every situation in my life, I can find a song he wrote that correlates with it completely. He has gotten me through so many rough nights alone, along with lonely mornings after. This album is colliding with my life right now, and it makes me so happy. I remember listening to this and not finding the right moments to relate it to, but now that I’m starting new things, it fits in perfectly. This man is an absolutely amazing artist and I wish I could tell him how much his music has meant to me over the years. I know it will stick with me forever.
Thanks to him I can understand clarity, love, and appreciating myself even more. And that’s all so important to me.
