thankfully everyone had different rooms, and most of the time he's not one to hole up in his room forever. Especially when his wife could be summoned and out there, not doing anything else but watching mortals from the sky.

‘ Don't worry - I know how to make crepes ! it's not that complicated ’ Mami prides herself as a supreme chef among her friends anyways, & if she & Ragnar were to be roommates, well, she'd pull her weight as a household member. ‘ If there's a pan, some oil, eggs & flour it should be fine. Salty crepes are really good, just as good as sweet ones. ’

‘ All the stores are empty. Is there anyone else out there ? ’ the glitches -- she thinks they're close to that -- set her alarms off. The realization that something is oh so very wrong. ‘ Every store is abandoned. ’

anyways ! mami only has got the bb gun & her ribbon spells to really... do anything with this. she's absolutely not thrilled about this crap - especially when she does notice the glitches around cotes... man, she's rather unhappy about this all. a little spooked too actually, but nevertheless looking to help most people she comes across with.
Upon hearing the voice of a stranger does rosette break off from her daydream. The stranger's worry makes her smile as she turns to greet them with a nod. "Of course! I'm totally fine, really fine!" Although she was far from 'fine', but there is no way Rosette would keep someone down because of her confusion. Yet, who is she when someone wanted to help as the nun in question slowly sits down on a near by bench.
"Sorry about making you worry..." she spoke sheepishly, rubbing the back of her head, "its just that... I've never seen such big buildings before! Its a lot different from back home..." she pauses, feeling a little silly. "What am I saying! I sound like a crazy person! I know this would sound... crazy, but I'm not from this world..."
🇲🇦🇲🇮 🇮🇸 🇨🇴🇳🇫🇺🇸🇪🇩 at the assumption that she's from Spirale -- just like the nun before here, she didn't ask to come here. She doubts anyone came on their own will ( if such was even possible )
‘ ... It's not crazy at all, miss. I'm not from here either, ’ Mami states solemnly. She wonders now if the woman's homeworld is like those fantasy anime that'd be broadcasted on TV during Saturday mornings. ‘ A lot of us weren't born here after all. ’
Too frank indeed, but since most everyone she's come across is in a similar situation as her, Mami feels like it's better to be honest with her from the get-go, and the nun feels like she might need someone to lend her a hand.
‘ If you need anything right now, I'll help you however I can. We're all on the same boat. ’
While she speaks, he reaches over for a strudel, it's shiny surface incredibly distracting. He takes a bite and as his chews his eyes widen bit by bit. It was so rich! And sweet, but not as sweet as the cakes served at Kanroji.
Salty.... buttery? It was delicious!
He looked up once she spoke again.
"Well," He started idly as he looked down at the baked good in his hand, "Unless you know how to get to heaven I think this is enough. I'm starting to think I'm just stuck here forever."
🇹🇭🇪 🇮🇩🇪🇦 🇴🇫 🇧🇪🇮🇳🇬 🇸🇹🇺🇨🇰 🇭🇪🇷🇪 🇫🇴🇷🇪🇻🇪🇷 rattles something deep within her -- the idea of being this far away from her very own Heaven, unable to yet again reunite with those friends that meant the world to her... when she thinks about it, the very possibility of never leaving Spirale frightened her. Everything from her gaze to her movements turns more serious now, far from the friendly hostess she was a few moments ago. Keeping a stiff lip on that was hard as it was.
Her sigh was almost unaudible before she spoke, this time solemnly.
‘ ... I get the same feeling too, to be honest. Something about all of this is weird, like we were brought here for a reason. I also felt lost when I came here, that's why I've been trying to help out whoever might need it, ’ then Mami looks right into his eyes, her gaze softening just a bit ( but not enough to not be tense ) ‘ I won't blame you if you think it's all too strange for you. ’
"I can build boats. Especially viking boats."
he's a expert craftsman despite everything, not yet a king. He can manage raids and everything else, hopefully it can translate into getting a job.
"I mean, I can build wooden houses if it needs to happen. I'm really good at making sturdy things, not to mention tables..."
"I can be a carpenter again, though it be boring. But if ya need a man to get you a fancy new table, I"m always here! Since... well my wife isn't here yet and usually I have to fix up everything she breaks. So I got plenty of free time."

She thinks her parents wouldn't really like it if she was living with another married man that's way too old to be a roommate, but Mami concedes that she does need a place to stay & she'll have to learn to understand Ragnar's quirks & mannerisms. ( & building boats ! she's never met anyone who can do that. )
‘ Then that should work out, ’ thought the mention of the wife breaking things makes her bite her tongue & not comment on it, mostly out of worry she might be rude. ‘ But you might need to advertise. I think that should be easy especially if you do it around the neighbourhood. ’

There were probably better places to think about then here but after everything Mika felt a little nostalgic to home. Past events aside seeing that long table decorated with pots and treats took her back to simpler times. And far calmer ones then anything this place had to offer her and their residents for sure.
"Of course I never really hosted them. That was Nagi's whole deal. But we had fun every time we got together. Kinda crazy they got all the details down to the tee..."
Even the sweet rolls as well. Although her eyes avoided those like the plague...

🇮🇹❜🇸 🇸🇺🇷🇵🇷🇮🇸🇮🇳🇬 🇮🇹❜🇸 🇲🇪🇦🇳🇹 🇹🇴 🇧🇪 🇫🇦🇰🇪, seeing how delicious everything seemed & how it had beautiful decor. Mami admired the ( fake ) teaware; it brought her memories when she was a child and started buying cute teacups with her allowance. Those were the times.
( it brought her memories of all those tea parties she hosted back then. )
‘ I love hosting them ! I always did back then for my friends... ’ she says witsfully. ‘ Sakura-san especially, she could eat a bunch of cake & cookies by herself. Say, did you have a favorite kind of tea ? ’
( melancholy washed over her. )
✦ If asked about her reason for fighting, there wouldn't have been an easy answer for Arcana Shadow. She likely would have just lied, claiming that she fought against lies like the other Meitantei Precure did, but she was more willing to spread those lies these days if it meant accomplishing her goals. Even if she had mixed feelings about it and there was still a part of her that wanted to be a detective and a Precure, she had steeled herself for this outcome years ago.
Fortunately, she could sidestep those issues in Spirale so long as Mystery, Mystique, and especially Eclair didn't show up.
"It has all of the makings of a good mystery though, doesn't it? A mysterious group of captors, burdensomely confusing rules and stipulations, and greater questions about our reasons for being here..." Luluka caught herself getting a little too enthusiastic and pulled herself back a bit. She couldn't let that side of herself slip too much when she was trying to repress it.
"...If I was to guess, it has something to do with whatever exists beyond this island. I've found next to no information about it, which is extremely suspicious." She glanced over at the girl again. They'd spoken long enough to warrant an introduction. "I'm a Precure, by the way. Cure Arcana Shadow is what I go by. Do magical girls have names like that where you come from?"
She listens solemnly. Spirale as it was called. It was an unknown land still, one she knew next to nothing about.
( Mami thinks that, whoever runs this island, is toying with their lives in some way, even if she can't prove it for sure. & even if she can't tell for sure the reason she was brought here, the mere implication is sickening. )

It also feels strange to see a magical girl that, just from listening to her words, sounds nothing like the ones she knew back home: they lacked codenames, cutesy names for themselves, & most of them didn't even know the concept of teamwork. Used to one too many fallouts till she met the Holy Quintet, Mami feels envious.
‘ We don't really do that where I am from. ’
‘ We're just 'magical girls' and we address each other by our names, ’ she answers matter-of-factly to Cure Arcana Shadow. ‘ Our lives are nowhere as glamorous as the ones on TV. ’ & dangerous, she wants to add, but chokes down the words. ‘ Though I think I shouldn't worry as much anymore, given the peace of this place. ’
But her friends, oh, her friends -- !

for vastly obvious reasons, shun knew one couldn't easily judge a person's age from their appearance alone. if that was applicable, he himself would be in middle school or at the very best a first year high school student, and yet, here he was as a college graduate and a working adult. but he also knew he was quite the odd one out in this, so he should most likely presume the middle school-esque girl looking at him with concern was indeed a middle school student.
as for why she was looking, there could be any number of reasons, but context clues and knowledge of his own situation gave shun a very good guess.
"say, you. you can see me, right?" in itself such a question would normally be considered weird. but normalcy did not apply here. "could it be i'm kind of blurry at the edges? slightly transparent? am i missing any parts of me? i'm still trying to figure out everything, so your feedback is very welcome; no, i'd even say it's absolutely necessary! don't hold back out of consideration to my feelings! tell me everything! why did i catch your eyes?"
As a magical girl she'd had gotten the skill to look at supernatural phenomena with much ease. But this - this is not what she'd have expected at all.
There's an adult man talking to Mami, asking if she could see him. She can, at least, partially: she notices that she can see through his body. Not as clear, but Mami does and it mortifies her a bit.
( How hypocrital given that she wasn't a normal person either. )
‘ You're... somewhat transparent, actually. ’
‘ I can see through you, ’ Mami adds. It's uncomfortable, she thinks, starting the blunt way that a strange older man came to her. There's concern in her eyes as she looks through his torso, but she composes herself. ‘ Are you a ghost ? ’
After the abominations she fought against, it'd be obvious to say that ghosts & spirits did not frighten her that much. Still weird.

Mami isn't purposely staring -- though after Kyubey, she is no position to complain about most curious companions. Sunarizamon, as she's been informed, is harmless & though a little distrustful at first, in the end she concedes to that, not wanting to be rude.
‘ Ah -- I am sorry. I didn't mean to. ’
Tetra had finally familiarized herself with the most of the island and was now working hard to network with a few of the citizens that were born in the city. There was something a little off about them, but Tetra was used to dealing with oddballs.
Tetra waved off a burly man she had been talking to and leaned against the wall. She started to bounce her leg as she tried to think of a way to buy a boat.
"Hm?" She looked up when another girl approached her. She looked posh and Tetra pushed herself from the wall. "Sure, go for it."
The roughness of the other girl kinda made her feel nostalgic for the times she first met Kyoko. Mami wonders if she's alright ( if they all are ). She's a new arrival, lost and confused, so at the very least the girl was willing to hear her made her feel a bit more confident.
‘ Could you help me with directions ? I just arrived here & I don't really know where to look. ’ after all, Mami has got no recollection on how she arrived to this island. There's something odd about this all, she thinks.

"They're good children," says the child, which makes Queen think they're younger than the girl. Maybe she's run into Chara, Queen thinks, so Queen will have to ask one of them about the other.

It fills her with uncertainty. First used to the dangers of a magical girl career by herself, then she had some friends and allies she could rely on --
and then this city.
She feels a pang on her chest when her guest suggests the idea of 'playdates'. It makes her feel like a little girl again, quirking at eyebrow at the suggestion but nodding nonetheless. There's kids younger than her, teens her age & some above eighteen already. Despite thinking herself as a grownup by now, Mami feels a bit small & without guidance in this city like a lost child would.
( she has always been a child, she still is, she's just one of those forced to grow up too fast. )
Now, education... she did promise Papa & Mama she'd keep up with her studies & grow smart, didn't she ? she wouldn't have guessed the older woman was a teacher, either.
‘ I actually didn't know about that, ’ she admits sheepishly, not even taking a sip from her black tea. ‘ I hadn't even thought of it much since I arrived. Is it a big school or somesuch ? ’ Mami asks with some genuine interest now. ‘ What do you teach ? ’
( oh yes, & maybe she'll have to look for a job, too ? It's not like she can take back her parents' inheritance, not since she came here. )
( overwhelming, yes, but Mami has managed by herself for years now; she thinks she can handle this. She just wishes her friends were here at least. )
