TRAs loveee to say that women getting boob jobs, laser hair removal, botox, filler, etc. and men getting gynecomastia surgery or hair transplants are all “gender affirming care” but every single one of those things is solely intended to help a person fit more neatly into gendered beauty standards and I just don’t understand how they don’t see that they’re fully telling on themselves. Like it’s one of the most blatant examples of their core belief that gender=superficial stereotypes and that their ideology is entirely based on reinforcing binary gender norms.

People get cosmetic surgery for beauty standards and a better quality of life. Cisgender women get breast reconstruction and cis men get top surgery because it helps them feel better in their skin and alows them to have a better life in a society that isn't kind to those who deviate from the norm. Fiting in is safer and women often like their boob's and men like having a flat chest and a penis that is why anti trans fear mongering works so well on cis people.

dogwhistles are used as plausibly-deniable signals to other members of the in-group to signify the person as a member, while remaining at least somewhat inconspicuous to outsiders. they are not a general “oh i recognize this as terf/nazi/hategroup bullshit, therefore it’s a dogwhistle”.

“1488” is a dogwhistle. “Wombyn” is a dogwhistle. “Globalist elites” is a dogwhistle. Calling trans women “TRAs” is a dogwhistle. Saying “total jew death” or “biological males don’t belong in women’s spaces” are not dogwhistles, they are just the explicit rhetoric of neonazis and terfs, respectively.

i need people to learn to differentiate between “this is a dogwhistle” and “this is outright bigotry” because i am tired of seeing people say “omg dogwhistle” to terfs outright saying trans women are men. please. at this point it’s just giving them more plausible deniability.

For the TERF who send me a DM with a picture of ‘men who identify as women’ who committed sex crimes, I never said trans people can’t be predators. Anyone can be a predator, the issue is that trans people are painted as predators no matter what, even when most of us are actually victimised ourselves. The SA statistics are high for both trans women and trans men.

Cis women are also capable of being sexual predators, but it isn’t taken seriously, regardless of who the victim is. Do we throw lesbians out of women’s restrooms because they ‘might prey on women’? No, we don’t, and if we did, it would be discriminatory on the basis of sexuality. Attraction /=/ action. Sexual assault is about control over the victim, not attraction.

Policing women’s restrooms so heavily has resulted in masc women being harassed by TERFs who think they’re men pretending to be women. Half the time, these women are black or brown, and this shouldn’t surprise anyone (hint: it’s their racism showing).

This shit isn’t helping anyone, all it’s doing is harming the women you think you’re protecting.
