And the last member of this particular circle, James. He carries himself well, but it’s hard to see his true colors.
(I think his true color might be pink.)
Panick - your favorite guitarist and singer from the underworld! Managing to sneak out of the firey pits of Hell undetected and still find time to make bangers is crazy impressive. Makes you wonder why she so often considers going back?
El will meet more Elites than just Elizabeth, turns out. Flay has some secrets of her own. In fact, who doesn’t?
BAD NEWS: I accidentally deleted a folder containing the mostly-completed script for the demo somehow! A lot of the files within were unrecoverable =) (<- feels normal about this)
GOOD NEWS: The majority of the work I’ve done on the game (sprites and tilesets and everything in the actual RPGMMV project folder) remain in tact, and I have backups of some writing I’ve done even if they don’t have the finalized dialogue. SO I’ll just have to spend some extra time writing.

Here’s some quick (but important) updates!
- Switched from using the Godot engine to using RPG Maker MV.
The game’s funkier mechanics seem to work just fine in MV, so to speed things up, I started using it instead. I’m already well past where I was in Godot in terms of development. (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.;)
- About 80% finished with all dialogue that will be used in the demo.
- Began working on tilesets for overworld maps.
- About halfway done with dialogue portraits.
I’m still tweaking some appearances that I found didn’t quite fit, but they’re close to done (and close to showing off).
- I have a working character selection screen for the MC!
I honestly didn’t think I could do it the way I wanted in MV, so to have it work perfectly is exciting. (Maybe moreso than it should be.)

I think I’m far enough into development that I can comfortably share some more of the game’s main cast, so here’s Damien, another protag along with El and Mothman. Damien was formerly infamous in his hometown for being a ruffian and arsonist, known there as 'The Jersey Devil'. His mother was incredibly scornful of him due to his devillish appearance compared to the average satyr, and was often neglectful, leading him to act out and become quick to anger. He's since moved out and gotten help and support, and plans to use the money he earns from Elizabeth's maid job to study counseling and eventually teach physical fitness as a coping skill, since that’s how he learned to deal.

This is quick but I’m realizing I actually never shared the concept for the other protag, Elizabeth. She is a very interesting woman with a lot of talents, connections, quirks and secrets.
A smaller one for now, but still important. (‾◡◝)
- Main story timeline is complete; began writing dialogue. Went through 4 drafts to get to a point I wanted to be final…
- Settled on how the mechanics will work.
- Main character designs completed. They’re all front facing and sketchy but I might share them anyway. Maybe.
- Started making (actually presentable) character sheets that will be posted as they’re done. I can’t wait to share these guys. I think they’re really fun.
- Settled on using Godot as the engine. Started some really basic programming.
-Started working on overworld graphics. Here’s a look, using the main character, El:
Of course they’ll have clothes in the game proper, just haven’t gotten there yet. Have their bases for now.
Completed concept designs of El, the game’s protagonist, in their maid outfit! As well as some more unofficial casual outfit designs for them.
I wanted to give some gender options because I think it helps a lot with immersion. Like taking the game from being “about this person” to “about me”! So even though it will change basically nothing, the option is there. ( ̄▽ ̄)
Also, Elizabeth dressed them up in that maid outfit... they definitely wouldn’t have chosen it on their own.
Mothman (he/they) ref for a game project I’m working on! He is literally the Mothman of legend, but goes by Jack Mothman (soft ‘a’) in casual settings, in hopes that that will make him “more relatable” and “less intimidating”. Whether or not it works varies a lot.

Current Project: El and the Elites
A horror RPG that tells one grave story from two very different perspectives.
El, a jackalope who dreams of pursuing a creative career, lands a job as a temporary live-in maid for a famous fashion designer and model named Elizabeth Dunn, known nationwide for her eccentric personality, macabre tastes and an enthusiasm for non-humans. Unfortunately, it won’t be long before they understand exactly why Elizabeth is so aloof and intimidating.
Elizabeth, a wealthy artist living in a manor a far distance from most of society has a big event coming up, and decides to employ a few live-in maids. One of these new helping hands is a jackalope going by the nickname “El”, who she’d love to get to know better. Unfortunately, she’s terrified that by the day of the event, she won’t ever get the chance to.
The game is plot and character-driven, but will also feature some light strategy mechanics and stealth for dealing with your opposition.

I've worked on a few quick-one off projects before, and one time I actually completed a (not very good) demo for a Pokemon fan game, but I always found myself wanting to do more. So I'm gonna!
