What could be hiding beneath the Hunter's mask? Like many, I have a few ideas

The first set is based on the portraits of the man with the lopsided face that a lot of people (myself included) believe could be the Hunter's true identity. If nothing else, the unusual shape of his head does seem to match.

The second, more gruesome set is from another theory that he may have attempted to take his own life at some point with one of his shotguns, but was unsuccessful. This would explain why the mask only has one eye-hole, why he struggles to breathe more so than any other monster, and why he seemingly has a close relationship with a doctor that specializes in reconstructive surgery.

Since we know how Doc reacts after fights, how does Hunter act? Is he also emotional or is he more closed off?

He'll be emotional but in the 'angry' way. The anger is stronger than sadness for him (in the opposite of Doc).

Hunter will eventually calm down by hunting, taxiderming and staying in his own corner.
