SENNA KISSINGER :
“shit,” is all she says, fixing apollo with an expression equal parts appreciative and suspicious. “you had your answer pretty quickly, for someone who goes to a school that basically bleeds mutant and proud, at least.” senna takes a small sip of her drink, eyes never leaving him. she’d seen him around gray kitchen the handful of times she bothered to pop in, and her eyes fall to the sketchbook in his hands. senna is too far away to get a good look, but it doesn’t stop her from being curious.
“i’m thinking a solid 36.” another sip. “i mean, i don’t think i ever said the scale was linear. maybe it’s sigmoidal. sinusoidal? maybe i should get some graph paper.” she giggles, a small, breathy thing, and takes another moment to compose herself. “sounds like you’ve done some bad shit. or you just don’t have much in the way of self-esteem.”
he continues his work as she speaks. she’s PRETTY, he notes, in that entirely unobtainable way that he thinks is common in a lot of people here. mutants may be partly human, but to apollo they’re an entirely separate plane of existence. such strange people. it makes him wonder how he’s one of them. “ well, not all of us can live by such a CHANT-Y notion, can we ? ‘ do no harm but take no shit ‘ is catchy on paper, but acting on it ? differnet story, you know ? being sure of who i am is the least i can do anymore. “ he hadn’t been sure what he was sketching at first, but now it’s forming into something understandable. a ballerina with a tutu made of spikes. everything about her radiates. she has no face, she doesn’t need one. he continues shading.
he licks his lips, glances up at her with a smile. “ specific, i enjoy it. hm, i think i’d prefer sinusoidal. keep the people on their feet. always fun. “ he starts to add dancers around the ballerina, but he blends them into the paper. FAR AWAY. “ i’m just self-aware. i don’t think i’m really meant to be a good person. that’s for people who enjoy cats over dogs and tea over coffee and starter non-profits. i don’t think i’m PERMITTED to it anymore. what about you, though ? not doing so well either. “
