"wow, i think doloris would disagree but it's good to know you're so cutthroat," he joked. "i'm just saying. i'm not denying vermont is beautiful. especially in the winters. the gentleman part, i don't know how many we actually have up there." he looked at her, for a brief moment wondering what it would be like if they were taking this walk through burlington and not new york city. It warmed a part of his heart that he didn't know was still there. "but have you ever had your coffee with a little maple syrup in it? way better than just sugar." he still got his coffee that way sometimes but he was pretty picky about his maple syrup. "yeah basically. i don't think that should be so hard." it was his turn to blush because she was right, he did want to tell her. it was like she was slowly creaking open the door in his emotions that had been dying to spill out. but he was afraid of how he'd feel afterward and how much it would take for him to stuff everything away again. "i mean we'll see, i'm not as simple as you think," he teased, knowing he was full of shit.

"oh yeah? who was it? ah man, the only person who came to mind when you asked that was john cena, i gotta be honest. and i love all sports, really. except for pickleball. fuck that fake sport. baseball is the one i love most. basketball's a close second. Football is third, of course, I mean, I grew up in New England, it's kind of inevitable." he tried to sound casual about it but clark could get pretty animated whenever he was watching sports. once upon a time he had bet on games but in this new era of having his shit together he had tried not to give into that vice. "ah well then i guess we'll have to have breakfast at my place some time." the tips of his ears got hot as he said it, the thought of her in his kitchen first thing in the morning bringing an excitement that he was trying not to let bubble over. "i mean either that or i gotta bring my ebelskiver pan to yours. be kind of a crazy thing to pack for our first sleepover."

       "you're  not  just  saying.  you're  absolutely  trying  to  kill  the  fantasy."  though,  the  brunette's  argument  wasn't  given  with  too  much  conviction.  at  one  point  in  life  she  may  have  believed  in  all  that,  but  life  had  been  cutting  away  at  her.  trimming  the  fat  until  eventually  nothing  would  be  left  but  the  bones.  just  knowing  clark  was  from  vermont  made  her  want  to  go  now,  to  see  if  it  matched  the  pictures  or  the  idea  of  it.  "i've  had  brown  sugar  in  my  coffee,  and  i've  had  maple  syrup  in  it  once  in  canada.  loved  it.  problem  is  it's  not  the  same  here."  then  after  a  beat,  a  smirk  lodging  she  tacked  on  a  heavy  suggestion.  "guess  the  vermont  native  is  gonna  have  to  make  it  for  me  sometime."  nudging  him  with  her  arm  the  former  chef  was  surprised  to  now  find  a  blushing  clark  at  her  side.  what  had  she  said  or  done  to  cause  that?  was  it  even  her?  either  way,  she  liked  the  possibility  of  having  that  effect  on  someone.  "i  don't  think  anyone's  really  all  that  simple."  people  were  complex  no  matter  how  they  appeared  or  portrayed  themselves.  there  was  always  so  much  more  than  what  met  the  eye,  and  no  matter  how  well  you  might  know  someone  you  still  never  would  fully  know  them.  something  she'd  been  learning  since  the  loss  of  her  best  friend.

"anthony  bourdain."  there  was  a  flash  of  sadness  across  her  face,  darkening  her  eyes.  the  loss  of  him  still  hurt.  the  mention  of  john  cena  made  fidan  laugh  and  do  the  'you  can't  see  me'  hand  motion  in  front  of  her  face.  "i  never  would've  pegged  you  for  a  wrestling  fan.  is  it  any  good  these  days?"  never  having  actually  watched,  it  was  a  funny  question,  the  brunette  had  only  seen  clips  but  enjoyed  the  mcmahon  and  stone  cold  fued.  "ok  pickleball  hate  incoming.  isn't  it  just  tennis  for  people  who  can't  play  tennis?"  lithe  shoulders  rose  and  fell,  not  fully  sure  of  the  sport  anyway.  "well  now  i've  gotta  know...  are  you  a  mets  or  yankees  fan?  and  please  don't  tell  me  you're  a  tom  brady  fanboy..."  the  dead  eyed  look  would  be  enough  to  convey  how  she  felt  about  that  ass  clown.  most  people  would  never  guess  by  the  look  of  her  that  she  could  sit  through  a  sports  conversation,  but  she  was  multifaceted.  some  of  her  interests  would  truly  surprise  people,  though  mainly,  it  was  that  she  paid  attention  when  people  spoke.  "you  do  know  you  can  eat  danish  pancakes  anytime  of  day,  right?"  teeth  gently  nabbed  the  inside  of  her  bottom  lip  to  staunch  the  growing  grin  threatening  to  dimple  her  cheeks.  "sounds  like  a  plan  though.  i  can't  wait  to  see  you  in  action.  plus,  meeting  doloris...  if  she  doesn't  like  me  then  that'll  tell  me  everything  i  need  to  know  about  how  she  feels  about  you."  there  was  a  chance  she'd  never  let  clark  live  the  old  lady  tease  down.  "sleepover..."  fingers  covered  her  mouth  and  the  immediate  grin,  an  attempt  made  to  stifle  the  breath  of  laughter.  "well,  i  have  one  if  you  wanna  use  mine."

"Yeah but not here," she pointed out, unable to help but grin as he carried her off so easily. Solana was well aware of the attention he was giving her as of late, and she wasn't complaining.. even more so as his fingertips pressed against the bare of her skin. It was hard to think clearly whatsoever when she was around him. The tour was quickly becoming secondary to the fact that Cash had his hands on her. "Living room. Kitchen. Riveting stuff, Gannon," she teased. "Trust me, you don't want to see me without—" But before she could stop him, he took her sunglasses off. Instantly, her nose scrunched. "Don't judge me," she warned, knowing what he was looking at. Her eyes were still red and irritated, the skin around them a little swollen despite her best efforts. Not even the concealer she'd slapped on before leaving the house could hide it.

The second he set her down on the bed, Lana let herself fall back against the mattress with an exaggerated groan of relief. Her eyes dropped to the bottles he'd placed beside her before lifting back to him. "You actually got me eye drops?" The teasing faded for a moment, genuine surprise creeping into her expression. She wasn't exactly used to people taking care of her. Most of the time, she either handled it herself or threw money at people to. Huh. Maybe Mr Muscles actually had a heart after all. "That's annoyingly thoughtful." Carefully, she reached for the drops, turning the bottle over in her hand before glancing back up at him. "No, I'm not taking your pain meds. You're the one with broken ribs, remember? I feel like we're getting distracted from the part where you're supposed to be resting, and I'm here to look after you." Which was rich coming from the woman currently sitting on his bed in a dress that barely qualified as clothing. Her gaze dragged slowly over him before returning to his face. "Besides," she said, tilting her head, "if this is your second favourite spot, now I'm curious. What's number one?"

       there'd  always  been  a  sort  of  cat  and  mouse  game  with  them.  usually  whenever  cash  dipped  into  that  dangerous  sport  he  was  the  feline,  the  predator  toying  with  a  meal,  but  he'd  found  in  her  presence  he  was  often  happy  to  be  the  prey.  clever  and  alluring,  it  was  difficult  not  to  succumb  to  her.  hence  how  his  plan  for  a  wild  night  of  testing  her  limits  had  gone  to  the  wayside  for  his  body  crashing  together  with  hers  in  her  office,  and  how  he  couldn't  resist  her  when  they'd  circled  around  each  other  at  giulietta's  before  the  fire  ruined  where  that  was  headed.  now  he'd  found  himself  to  be  a  texting  fool  and  hoping  on  facetime  anytime  she  was  available.  some  of  it  was  to  check  in,  to  know  how  she'd  been  recovering  from  the  event  he'd  still  felt  the  heat  from.  and  not  in  the  good  way.

"i  mean...  it's  a  penthouse."  a  chuckle  breathed  between  them  after  setting  her  down  on  his  bed.  "you've  already  seen  plenty  of  it  on  facetime  anyway."  even  with  his  broken  rib  and  stitched  lacerations  it'd  been  hard  for  the  man  used  to  being  on  the  move  to  sit  still.  he'd  wander  while  they'd  chatted,  answered  and  showed  things  when  she'd  asked.  "you  know  i  wouldn't."  sunglasses  set  on  the  nightstand  so  the  designer  accessory  wouldn't  accidentally  get  crushed,  cash  kneeled  before  her  and  examined,  but  not  before  he'd  gestured  to  himself.  how  could  he  when  he  looked  worse  the  wear  than  her?  "you  don't  think  that  makeup  is  irritating  them  more?"  yeah,  he  cared.  yes,  the  fighter  was  concerned.  eyes  were  important  and  he  happened  to  like  lana's.  quite  a  bit.

"i  did."  a  smirk  of  satisfaction  in  surprising  her.  "i'm  annoyingly  thoughtful.  you  think  i'm  some  uncaring  asshole?"  the  humor  in  his  expression  and  amusement  in  his  greenish-hazel  only  deepened.  "would  i  have  been  spending  all  that  time  texting  and  hanging  with  you  on  facetime  if  i  didn't  care?"  brow  lifted,  cash  challenged  her  to  consider  things.  "hey,  i'm  not  gonna  push  drugs  on  you  but  even  half  of  one  could  help  with  that  ankle.  up  to  you."  head  turned  down,  a  look  at  his  own  condition,  cash  shrugged  his  broad  muscled  shoulders.  "i'm  fine."  it  was  a  blessing  being  so  calloused  sometimes,  that  and  having  a  high  pain  tolerance.  the  mention  of  rest,  her  on  his  bed,  that  tiny  garment  barely  covering  her  delectable  figure,  the  blond's  gaze  dragged  up  her  thighs  and  then  nodded  at  the  center  of  them.  where  they  parted.  the  smirk  returned,  indicating  his  favorite  spot  currently  was  right  there.  "you  want  me  to  help  you  forget  about  your  eyes  for  a  bit,  or  that  ankle  you're  torturing  with  those  heels?"

If one looked closely enough, one might notice Alessandro's wide, inquisitive eyes lit with a spark of relief, or the curl of an almost satisfied smile playing at his lips. It was an unfamiliar thrill that coursed through him from that very first invitation extended, and one he felt with undeniable presence as his gaze, ever hungry and ever watching, relaxed ever so slightly at this first glimpse of approval. The critic was a beauty, there was no doubt, and the sight of a beautiful woman finding pleasure from something of his wasn't an unfamiliar experience, of course — but this, this first taste of endorsement from the lips of someone whose opinion actually mattered... This he could find himself getting quickly addicted to.

"Bene," the man responded simply, allowing her approval wash over him like the first ray of sunlight peeking from just behind overcast grey clouds. "Most people order tequila stingers, Long Islands... Mojitos if they want to annoy my bartenders—" he laughed mirthlessly, assuming she knew the drink's reputation, before continuing, "—or Sex on the Beach if they find them attractive." A cocked eyebrow suggested wordlessly that his patrons always found the bartenders attractive, entirely by design.

In this moment, in this room shared by the two of them alone, Alessandro held no pretense about his business. He believed her smart enough to see the Marquee for what it was: a hedonist's haven, a refuge for revelry — not quite an atmosphere befitting the likes of a Michelin-star chef. "The patrons aren't like you and I, Miss Dursun. They're here for a quick high, an easy rush of the senses... Experiential, yes. But they're not after something worth savoring." He eyed her from underneath the furrow of his brows, hands working once more to prepare her second sampling. "Don't get me wrong, I'm not ashamed of what the Marquee is. After all, it allows me to indulge the tastes of beautiful women..." The drink, a Cynar Boulevardier, is placed before her with no introduction, as he's far too intrigued to hear her first impressions — and in turn, be impressed by her astute senses. "...But I wouldn't be who I am if I didn't crave more."

       "so  much  sex  on  the  beach  then..."  dark  eyes  remained  fixed  on  the  owner  in  the  well  tailored  suit  continuing  his  play  at  bartender.  that  dark,  mysterious  vibe  that  fit  around  him  as  well  as  that  italian  made  shirt  clung  to  his  sculpted  mass  was  in  stark  contrast  with  the  man  that  laughed  with  joy  at  her  approval  of  his  first  drink.  the  critic  had  actually  expected  him  to  be  mostly  unmoved  by  her  because  as  a  woman  she'd  grown  accustomed  to  being  overlooked  professionally  by  men  too  drunk  with  their  own  perceived  power.  usually  they  found  out  the  hard  way  what  her  silly  little  opinion  could  mean  for  them  within  the  bounds  of  her  industry.  sometimes,  maybe  even  more  so,  outside  of  it  as  well.

it  went  without  saying  that  fidan  dursun  was  a  passionate  woman,  it  animated  every  part  of  her  being.  from  a  fiery,  sometimes  intense,  personality  to  the  lively  way  she  embodied  whatever  she  was  thinking/feeling  in  her  gestures  and  body  language.  some  said  it  was  having  her  heart  on  her  sleeve,  it  was  rarely  difficult  to  discern  her  mood,  which  was  why  her  eye  twitched  at  being  called  miss  dursun.  "fidan  is  fine."  this  was  business,  not  some  social  call,  and  why  her  comment  on  the  drink  moments  ago  hadn't  come  with  a  flirty  tone.  there  was  something  about  alessandro  alighieri  that  kept  her  guarded.  perhaps  it  was  the  atmosphere,  the  faces  she'd  seen  amongst  the  crowd  as  she'd  been  guided  through,  or  maybe  it  was  his  comments  about  indulging  in  the  hedonism  himself.  which  wasn't  wrong,  but  again,  business  meeting.  the  comment  about  women  didn't  make  her  uneasy,  yet  there  was  something  off-putting  about  it.  it  was  a  comment  that  would've  landed  if  she  were  a  man  sitting  across  the  bar  from  him,  because  then  she  could've  given  him  the  pat  on  the  back  he'd  maybe  been  fishing  for  with  that.  though,  as  a  woman  and  not  a  man,  the  way  it'd  been  said  excluded  her.  that  didn't  particularly  matter,  but  she  was  realizing  his  way  of  conducting  business  was  very  much  in  the  vein  of  his  current  atmosphere  and  not  what  he  was  looking  to  break  into.  fidan  was  admittedly  sensitive,  all  rockstars  were  incredibly  prideful,  so  what  if  he'd  offended  her?

"and  who  are  you,  alessandro?"  the  drink  was  pulled  closer  by  her  fingers  pressed  to  the  base.  "love  the  color.  beautiful."  a  first  impression  comment.  her  gaze  flickered  to  his  and  noted  how  he  was  watching  with  anticipation.  no  explanation  came  this  time  and  fidan  knew  that  meant  he'd  wanted  to  walk  through  it  on  her  own.  the  glass  was  brought  to  her  mouth  and  the  former  chef  continued  to  hold  his  gaze.  at  first  she  entertained  a  whiff  of  the  drink,  then  she  tipped  a  sip  of  the  contents  over  her  tongue  and  an  'mmm'  sound  was  produced  before  she  set  the  drink  back  down  to  the  bar.  "is  that  cynar?"  letting  the  flavors  work  in  her  mouth  as  her  tongue  moved  around,  fidan  eventually  took  another  sip.  it  had  an  earthy  element  to  it,  that  had  to  by  cynar.  "this  is  complex.  definitely  not  for  your  friends  out  there."  a  slight  jerk  of  her  head  indicated  his  patrons  beyond  the  walls  of  the  room  the  pair  of  them.  "interesting.  i  wouldn't  have  guessed  you'd  give  me  a  sipping  drink  as  the  second.  i'm  a  fan  of  bourbon,  though,  so  i  like  this  better  than  the  first."  following  the  placement  of  the  drink  returned  to  the  bar,  she  pushed  it  toward  him  as  a  silent  encouragement  to  sip.  she  didn't  want  to  be  the  only  one  in  the  room  ingesting  alcohol.  "tell  me.  when  you  drink  that  what  would  you  be  doing?  what's  that  part  of  your  day  look  like?"  staying  on  theme,  fidan  was  curious  of  the  authentic  italian  experience.

The sign by the door was flipped, closed now to be seen from the outside as she locked the door to assure no one who actually refused to read signs could barge in, very much leaving the space to leave from the inside before she plopped down on a chair at a table, coffee and little pastries already laid out. "We are long overdue for a catch up. And there's coffee and treats, on me. I gave my employee the day off. There is nothing stopping us unless you're about to tell me you're ready to run off into the sunset. Which isn't for at least a couple of hours."

It was an offer, one Hande never would have taken badly if turned down but after all the chaos it just seemed to make sense to try and hangout. What better place than a café she owned, that she could close if she so desired even if only for a few hours. There was plenty to be done, but for a friend she was willing to make time. Always.

       some  guilt  spread  through  her  chest  seeing  hande  close  up  shop  just  for  her,  just  for  them  to  have  coffee  and  catchup.  running  a  business  wasn't  easy;  it  was  long  hours  and  tough  work,  the  grind  always  extra  when  everything  fell  back  on  you.  "if  you'd  kept  your  employee  on  today  then  you  could've  had  the  café  opened  while  we  chatted.  unless  you  think  your  undivided  attention  would've  been  impossible."  a  smile  pushed  dimples  into  her  cheeks  as  she  regarded  her  friend  who  finally  took  a  seat  across  from  her.  "with  the  traffic  it'll  probably  take  me  a  couple  of  hours  to  reach  the  sunset."  because  what  better  place  to  do  so  other  than  the  beach?  fidan  was  only  kidding  though,  there  was  no  way  she  was  running  off  anywhere.  at  least,  not  until  after  her  time  with  hande.  while  her  hand  wrapped  around  the  offered  coffee  her  dark  eyes  surveyed  the  treats  and  picked  up  one,  brought  it  to  her  mouth  but  took  in  the  scent  of  it  first.  divine.  "so,  let's  catchup.  how've  you  been  since  everything?"  the  former  chef  hadn't  been  great  but  she'd  done  a  great  job  of  hiding  and  masking  it.

The drive over the bridge was spent in review of almost every square inch the Del Castillo Development Group had built across Brooklyn until she could name each block from memory. Where the borough wasn't unfamiliar to her professionally, seldom did Celestina make the commute personally. That being said, never did she witness Second Gear Collective prior to the fire, nor would she have had the occasion to be standing right in front of it ( or what was left of it ) had it not been for their company's initiative of community rebuilding. One that held the potential to fulfill more than just a tax break.

Once she'd stepped out of the Bentley, leaving her purse within it with her driver, her attention honed into analyzing the bones of the structure behind the caution tape. She'd read the article over and over for weeks that it was now committed to memory: the names of those that were injured, and what precisely happened here. Her gaze drifted back onto her phone screen and to the photographs of what the shop had been before that stood in stark contrast to the reality it now embodied.

It was the scent of leather and exhausts that cut through and stole her focus. In a slow rise, she finally turned her inspection up from the device to land upon the bike first and then blue eyes, blond hair, VP kutte. Sonny Gamble. Truly, Celestina could argue the universe constantly worked in her favour by chance of running into one individual who could grant agreement for the rebuild. Though, declining that offer would only make sense to someone who shook hands with stupid, which was the opposite of what she deemed the man the weight of her gaze currently trained on. "Funny enough, I think you're just the person I'm looking for."

       a  seething  anger  still  burned  through  sonny  gamble.  the  targeted  fires  across  the  city  were  horrific,  especially  considering  who  was  lost  in  it,  but  this  attack  had  hit  home.  building  in  charred  ruins,  members  of  his  club  injured  and  put  at  risk,  and  through  working  his  connections  and  getting  close  with  the  brooklyn  community  the  vp  had  learned  some  information  that  incinerated  like  betrayal.  this  was  looking  like  something  the  club  would  deal  with  internally,  take  revenge  and  dish  punishment  on  their  own  terms.

the  tour  of  the  wreckage  had  concluded  with  sonny  standing  at  his  harley,  going  through  a  burner  phone  as  he  read  a  few  messages  responding  to  some  inquiries.  that  was  when  the  blond  sensed  the  approach  and  looked  up.  ocean  eyes  took  in  the  well  dressed  woman,  saw  past  her  to  the  upper  echelon  luxury  car,  and  despite  not  having  met  before  sonny  recognized  her.  "that  is  pretty  funny."  voice  rasped  from  years  of  inhaling  cigarette  smoke,  no  signs  of  humor  appeared  on  his  face.  "you're  a  long  way  from  home.  what  can  i  do  for  you?"

The sound of the club's music vibrated through the walls as Aslan made his way through the back door and towards Cash's office. The footage of fires at both Montecristo and Giulietta's had prior been forwarded to Cash at the time he'd obtained them - holding truth to that prior notion Aslan had offered forth that any information found would route back to Cash, and hence, his meeting here today.

A nod served as greeting as he stepped inside, his dominant hand extended to meet Cash's before he settled into the seat across from him. "How're you doing?" Business would remain a fixture at the forefront of his mind, as always. However, Cash's injuries went hand in hand with what he wanted to discuss. "Got some names you should hear."

       footage  reviewed  again  and  again,  the  club  owner  had  been  busy  working  his  own  investigation  into  the  fires.  beyond  that,  it  extended  to  the  bomb  threat  on  the  island  during  that  masquerade  that  he  hadn't  attended  yet  it'd  effected  plenty  he  knew.  the  boss's  hand  was  met  with  his  own,  his  expression  neutral  as  a  wall  had  gone  up  since  their  last  meeting,  cash  gestured  for  the  man  to  sit  and  he  did  the  same.  "business  is  good."  there  wouldn't  be  an  extend  into  personal  territory.  "i  was  hoping  you'd  say  that."  since  he  couldn't  think  of  any  other  reason  aslan  would  be  present,  and  cash  needed  something  tangible  to  work  with.  "so,  what's  been  figured  out?  what're  the  names?"

her head fell back upon the mattress, haloed by the dark mane while her gaze was glued to him as he rose up slightly following her request. the muscles beneath his skin shifted and rippled and she was mesmerized by the sight until her dark hues plunged down between them to get a complete view of the man. serra swallowed hard, her hands moving from his forearms upwards and only dug in when she felt him thrust into her. "fuck," she gasped.

the arch of her back only amplified at the quick movement of his hips that sent pleasure and shockwaves through her spine, nails digging further into his flesh to the point where the marks were likely to cause a bite of pain. there was no pause and the brunette was left panting as the rhythm, added with the way her fingers slid south, aided in making the pleasure grow.

he felt good, he'd always had. however, there was something additional to the connection that they shared. a sense of quietness and comfort that she doubted she would have found with a stranger set met at random. surely she wouldn't have found herself practically begging to have them possess her less than an hour after her arrival. but there had always been something unfinished about the two of them despite how much distance and time they hoped would make this pull vanish.

serra rose up upon her forearms, peering between them before her hand settled to the back of his neck as to pul him down towards her. her mouth met his hungrily and passionately, the once soft and gentle kiss had turned rougher out of need. nails dug their way into his back while her legs curled around him. after witnessing violence and death for the last few months, serra craved the intimacy and ability to shut her mind off. "don't stop."

after  a  bit  the  exertion  had  every  muscle  on  his  body  exposed.  his  stamina  could  test  most  women,  especially  since  the  biker's  pace  was  often  unrelenting,  but  the  sensations  of  her  clinging  around  him  was  shooting  jolts  of  pleasure  through  his  abdomen.  the  tone  of  his  low  grunts  mingled  with  the  sounds  of  their  bodies  shutting  the  rest  of  the  world  out  filled  the  room.

"glad you think so," was all he could muster in response and when she wrapped her hands around his bicep again he leaned more into her touch, especially as he spoke about home. "that's what you think of when you hear vermont? you know those hallmark movies are mostly shot in canada. and yeah, there...is a story. maybe if your meal helps totally erase the memory of that scallop i'll tell you." he definitely didn't want to open up while they were just out here in public. there were times he wished he were better at talking about his feelings but he was finding that the closer he got to opening up, the more his trust issues rose to the surface. not just his trust in other people but really the trust in himself to not unravel all over again.

"that sounds delicious. don't think i've had turkish food before so i'm pretty excited now. no pressure. and yeah but what would i even talk to guy about? i don't know, i'm kind of big on the don't meet your heroes thing. a little bit yeah. i like sports." even if it had been hard for him to watch baseball for a long time, he had recently gotten back into college sports. in the past week he had been watching college softball and baseball and he found that it had brought back a certain joy to his life he had been missing. he still had yet to go to a yankees or mets game though. "well i learned what an ebelskiver was and ended up ordering an ebelskiver pan late one night and every couple of weeks i just..make some mini pancakes. my first batch totally sucked but eventually i got the hang of it. i'd offer to make you some but i don't know if i can take that kind of pressure. i might get chopped."

       "a  dead  man  can't  love  her  back  or  give  her  the  last  few  thrills  of  her  life,  clark."  absolutely  teasing,  her  cheeks  dimpled  enough  to  display  that  she  was  only  giving  him  a  hard  time.  though  she  knew  that  age  of  women  didn't  really  give  a  shit  anymore  and  flirted  with  young  men  like  clark  because  what  did  they  really  have  to  lose?  the  fact  that  he  didn't  pull  away  from  her  hand  around  his  bicep  and  instead  seemed  into  it,  the  brunette  let  the  touch  linger.  "why  are  you  trying  to  pop  my  fantasy  bubble?  i've  seen  pictures  of  vermont,  you  know.  i  know  how  beautiful  it  is  and  it  wouldn't  be  difficult  to  sip  coffee  and  fall  for  a  flannel  wearing  old  school  gentleman  who  reminds  you  what  security  is."  the  smirk  at  the  corner  of  her  mouth  didn't  fade  as  her  brow  rose  with  interest.  "alright,  so  the  pressure  is  on.  if  i  wanna  hear  your  story  i've  gotta  make  you  something  that  erases  every  other  food  before  it."  that  was  the  dramatic  version  what  he'd  just  conveyed,  and  she  grinned  for  it.  "interesting  test  for  a  michelin  star  chef.  just  say  you  wanna  tell  me,  clark."  yes,  fidan's  confidence  in  her  abilities  were  that  strong.  having  been  at  the  pinnacle  that  rockstar  attitude  wouldn't  fade  no  matter  what  she'd  ended  up  making  of  her  career.

"i'm  good  with  pressure."  the  comment  came  easily,  unbothered,  because  she'd  worked  incredibly  intense  environments  and  come  out  a  winner.  dark  eyes  glanced  at  clark  as  they  strolled  the  store,  headed  for  the  produce  first,  her  mind  working  on  what  she'd  put  together  that  also  didn't  require  long  labor  to  get  to  the  finish  line.  she  wasn't  sure  if  he'd  want  to  be  at  her  place  for  hours  on  end.  "i  think  most  people  just  talk  about  food  or  his  restaurants."  a  shrug,  it'd  been  different  for  her  because  she  wasn't  in  awe  of  him  like  everyone  else.  "i'd  agree  with  that  but  i  did  meet  one  hero  that  didn't  disappoint.  if  anything  meeting  him  only  made  me  admire  him  more.  who  are  your  heroes?"  then,  after  a  beat  fidan  asked  the  next  obvious  question.  "what  sports?"  they'd  reached  the  produce  section  and  she  began  examining  a  few  for  ripeness  and  imperfections  while  he  spoke.  it  was  kind  of  nice  having  company  while  shopping.  a  laugh  bubbled  up  at  his  chopped  reference  and  she  paused  what  she  was  doing  to  offer  a  slightly  more  serious  look  while  still  maintaining  her  amusement.  "do  you  know  how  wonderful  it  is  as  a  chef  to  have  someone  cook  for  me?  don't  get  me  wrong,  i  chased  this  passion  to  be  a  chef,  but  once  you're  that  then  you're  always  the  cook.  for  everything  and  everyone."  peering  up  at  him,  one  shoulder  rose  in  a  half  shrug  while  her  teeth  pressed  into  her  bottom  lip  for  a  moment.  "i  do  love  danish  pancakes,  clark."

she couldn't help but grin when he corrected her but that had more to do with what she felt could fit in the palm of his hand. still, her point held true that there was some fun in people working for it a little bit even if it was only funner for her. if anything else, ren knew when to give and take and she wouldn't let the game of cat and mouse go on so long that her companion lost interest. she'd learnt that the hard way, especially recently when she worked for more than just her own personal gain. "i have no problem admitting that i miss something and the fact that i'm here should tell you enough." they were friends beyond anything else and her presence meant that she wanted to be around him and the fact that she climbed on top of him had to speak volumes on what she was keen for. not desperate but if the night turned out that way than she wasn't opposed to it.

"a lily." it was the first flower that came to mind after a peony but the latter was a little bit bigger to be hidden under the small scraps of clothing. it wasn't like her dress hid much as it hiked up almost over her ass while her legs were spread to accommodate his form beneath her. the sensation of his fingers wandering her body was welcome. "you'll have to find out. i'll meet you out there." ren threw over her shoulder as she made way towards his enclosed pool, discarding her shirt first on the way there. her skirt was the second thing to be forgotten, her pair of earrings, shoes.... a trail of items for him to follow out. her bra strap was dangling from the ladder before she jumped in with nothing but the thin material around her waist.

       like  a  hound  on  a  scent  trail  cash  followed  ren  to  the  pool,  picking  up  each  item  she'd  left  for  him  along  the  way.  the  smirk  tucked  deep  into  the  corner  of  his  mouth  seemed  a  permanent  placement.  when  the  tall,  battered  blond  reached  the  pool  ladder  at  the  deep  end  to  find  her  bra  dangling  there  a  spot  of  disappointment  shifted  his  features.  he'd  been  hoping  to  find  the  flimsy  fabric  that  covered  the  last  bits  of  her,  accounting  for  what  he'd  already  collected,  somewhere  at  the  pool's  edge.  or  maybe  floating  around  in  the  waves  of  the  water  that  she'd  disturbed  when  jumping  in.  the  fighter  couldn't  decide  if  it  were  more  fun  that  she'd  left  them  on  or  if  he  truly  preferred  to  find  her  completely  naked.

either  way  he  set  her  things  aside  on  one  of  the  lounge  chairs  poolside.  cash  was  still  in  a  pair  of  shorts  as  he  moved  back  toward  the  edge  yet  stayed  a  foot  back  from  it.  the  water  distorted  her  image  underneath  it  but  his  greenish-hazel  moved  over  her  figure  regardless.  ate  it  up  visually,  actually,  as  though  he  saw  her  clear  as  day.  "found  your  breadcrumbs."  gaze  pinned  to  her  and  the  droplets  of  water  dripping  from  her  face.  "seems  i'm  missing  the  last  piece,  though."  tone  playful,  he  began  a  slow  walk  along  the  edge  of  the  pool  with  the  fact  that  she'd  missed  him  still  stirring  in  the  back  of  his  mind.

when  cash  reached  the  shallow  end,  he  took  one  step  at  a  time  deeper  and  deeper  into  the  water.  it  felt  refreshing  but  his  attention  had  been  pinned  on  the  brunette  and  nothing  else.  given  his  injuries  he  couldn't  be  too  careless  with  his  ribs  and  the  stitches,  even  if  the  pain  wasn't  effecting  him  too  badly,  and  couldn't  just  jump  in  after  her  like  he'd  have  preferred.  "c'mere,  i  need  to  see  something."  having  walked  in  deep  enough  until  he  was  waist  deep,  his  hips  under  the  waterline  now  cash  curled  a  finger  at  her.  he  remembered  her  guiding  his  touch  to  her  bikini  line  so  two  birds  were  about  to  be  hit  with  one  stone.  "i  think  you  were  lying  about  that  tattoo."

"you might be right. i'm being too nice to him and he probably wouldn't be able to find the right spot if his life depends on it so perhaps seated outside the door or in the bathroom would be best suited for him." nothing but him, a raging erection, and his hand. that felt better. at her friends guidance, the brunette leaned forward so her elbows and forearms were on the surface of the bar and she could flash him a decent look down her blouse. the hints of lace bra showing were enough to have him stumbling over. "you don't happen to have a light, do you?" her tone had dropped, turned softer and more sultry while she flashed him a smile. "we're in desperate need for one." the man was too much of a walking cliche not to be a smoker so she only smirked when he reached into his pocket for a pack.

       with  rosa's  beauty  and  the  little  peek  at  what  was  discoverable  beneath  her  top,  fidan  knew  it'd  be  an  easy  cast.  the  guy  would  hook  onto  the  bait  and  would  practically  reel  himself  in.  a  knowing  smile  dimpled  her  cheeks  as  her  attention  remained  on  her  friend,  she  was  laying  in  wait  while  he  walked  deeper  into  the  net  and  only  spoke  up  when  he  began  pulling  out  a  pack  of  cigarettes  along  with  his  lighter.  "could  i  get  one  of  those,  too?"  bright,  sparkling  eyes  met  the  males  and  she  watched  him  lose  himself  for  a  moment  as  her  soft  smile  encouraged  for  him  to  provide  whatever  they  needed.  when  he  produced  one,  fidan  placed  it  between  her  lips  and  leaned  in  expectantly  for  him  to  offer  flame.  after  she'd  taken  a  pull,  the  brunette  shared  the  cigarette  by  placing  it  at  rosa's  pretty  painted  lips.  she  exhaled  slowly,  somewhat  in  his  face  but  mostly  just  off  of  it.  "what're  you  drinking  over  there  by  your  lonesome?  my  friend  and  i  were  going  to  try  those  flaming  shots."  it'd  been  noted  that  he  inched  closer  to  them,  fidan  glanced  from  him  to  her  friend.

"yeah I do, probably more than I eat in my own house. all of our places are super close together and i live near a lot of families so if i help them even with like unclogging a toilet they want to feed me. and who am i to say no? they cook way better than i ever could. my neighbor doloris says i'm too skinny, gotten fatten me up to find me a wife. her words, not mine." he laughed at the memory of it and made a note to check in on doloris tomorrow when he could. "i would much rather a flavor punch than bland, haven't had bland food since i left vermont." his expression faltered, mostly because he felt like he had given a piece of him away. he rarely talked about his home. it made him feel vulnerbale, reminded him a different time in his lie. "i'm really not picky, chef. i like it all. vegetarian. meat. like i said, i'm following your lead."

"chopped is cool but i just love me some guy fieri. tournament of champions is the best. i learn so much. and it's cool that it's like march madness. super competitive. you think so? i think i'd fit in well in flavortown," he told her with a wink. "produce it is."

       given  that  she  could  sometimes  talk  too  much  it  was  nice  to  listen  to  someone  else  go  on  for  a  bit,  especially  when  it  gave  even  the  smallest  insight  into  them.  "is  doloris  single?"  with  a  brow  that  matched  the  rise  of  a  corner  of  her  mouth,  fidan's  hand  reached  for  his  arm  and  wrapped  around  his  bicep.  "she's  making  you  food  and  asking  about  your  love  life,  you're  unclogging  her  toilet  and  being  her  handyman,"  the  brunette  winced,  "i  think  you  might've  found  your  wife."  as  much  as  she  could  the  former  chef  restrained  her  grin,  then  gently  squeezed  his  arm  and  felt  it  up  a  little.  "seems  fine  to  me."  a  flash  of  something  that  conveyed  she  was  impressed  displayed  as  her  touch  fell  away.  "ah,  so  you're  from  hallmark  country."  though  fidan  had  noted  his  stance  on  flavor.  he  wanted  to  live  it  up,  he  was  done  with  apple  ciders  and  maple  candies.  "there's  gotta  be  a  story  of  what  brought  you  to  new  york..."  dark  eyes  fixed  on  him,  hopefully  he  caught  the  lead  and  took  it  because  she  was  curious.  if  he  wanted  he  could  ask  her  all  about  growing  up  in  the  city.  "okay,"  a  sigh  breathed  out  of  her  and  she  shook  off  the  chef  once  more,  fidan  loved  it  but  it  was  making  her  feel  warm  and  fuzzy,  "i  think  i'm  gonna  make  something  turkish  for  you."

a  little  laugh  bubbled  up  and  fidan's  amusement  couldn't  be  hidden.  "guy  goes  to  a  lot  of  events.  big  culinary  events.  you  could  probably  meet  him  if  you  really  wanted."  or  she  could  even  introduce  clark  to  his  hero.  the  wink  made  her  smile  grow  just  a  bit  bigger.  "is  that  why  you  like  it  so  much,  it  relates  to  sports?"  dark  eyes  scanned  to  get  a  layout  of  the  store  and  then  headed  in  the  direction  of  the  produce.  "what  have  you  learned  to  make  watching  those  shows?"

"got it. probably shouldn't replace one smoking habit with another so seems like edible are a good route. we have some pretty good seltzers, and a new ice cream. kind of a treat within a treat, you know?" minerva was picky about who she let sell edibles in her shop but her friend from brooklyn who was making the ice cream herself was worth it to minnie. "tranquilizer though, sounds like you need to get the man a vape pen. he'll hit it without thinking too much about it. next thing you know," she snapped her fingers, "stoney fckn baloney." minnie reached for one of the new menus they had printed out this morning. "we have a new passion fruit flavor i think you'll like. not too sticky either. the guys who make them, i met them at this networking event. i thought they were full of shit, then i visited their farm and had dinner with their mom. stone cold fox. cooks like a pro. i almost proposed to her right there but sadly, she really likes her husband," she said with a loud sigh before holding out the lit joint towards fidan.

       "seltzers  and  ice  cream?"  it  took  a  minute  for  fidan  to  compute  that  in  her  head,  but  she  wasn't  shy  about  trying  it.  especially  for  the  prolonged  high.  "do  you  deliver  the  ice  cream?  i  don't  think  i  could  take  it  right  now.  but  also...  what  happens  if  i  forget  and  end  up  devouring  the  whole  carton?"  there  was  work  to  be  done,  the  brunette  didn't  need  to  be  high  for  days.  even  if  it  sounded  a  bit  like  heaven.  a  chuckle  came  up  at  stoney  baloney  but  she  weighed  the  options  in  her  head.  "i  could  just  grind  up  a  sleeping  pill  and  put  it  in  his  food."  the  former  chef  wouldn't  do  it,  but  it  remained  an  idea  regardless.  "you  know  what...  gimme  the  strongest  gummies  you've  got.  for  me.  i'm  gonna  use  them  to  get  some  damn  sleep.  i  haven't  really  slept  since..."  fidan  wasn't  going  to  say  it,  she  didn't  even  really  want  to  talk  about  it.  she  took  the  menu  offered  but  didn't  really  look  it  over,  the  passionfruit  sounded  good,  it  was  the  story  that  captivated  her  and  lifted  her  brow.  "i  believe  in  your  powers  and  your  charm  to  steal  her  away  from  her  husband."  a  smirk  was  planted  at  the  corner  of  her  mouth,  only  made  to  disappear  when  she  took  the  offered  joint  and  had  a  nice  pull  from  it.  "i  bet  if  you  got  stoney  baloney  with  her  and  her  inhibitions  came  down  she'd  like  you  more  than  her  husband."  now  fidan  wanted  to  get  stoned  and  have  sex  but  she'd  settle  for  the  chill.  for  now.

       for  the  most  part  cash  didn't  think  too  much  of  his  appearance.  he  took  care  of  himself  and  knew  how  to  use  what  he  had,  but  a  handsome  face  and  a  toned  physique  could  really  only  take  a  person  so  far.  wit,  charm,  business  savvy,  a  boyish  exuberance,  and  an  inclination  toward  the  art  of  cat  and  mouse  was  how  he  kept  things  interesting.  for  himself  and  for  his  counterparts.  for  the  california  man  with  a  troubled  past  life  was  a  beach  and  he  was  just  playing  in  the  sand.  "i  don't  want  it  on  a  silver  plate,  ren.  i  want  it  right  in  the  palm  of  my  hands."  a  flash  of  greenish-hazel  glanced  her  way,  and  for  a  second  he  eyed  her  intensity  on  the  game,  controller  in  hands  as  she  spoke  like  it  was  an  every  day  thing  for  him  to  bury  himself  within  her.  they  certainly  had  gone  through  time  periods  like  that,  and  now  he  was  wondering  if  she  missed  it  a  little.  "you  know  if  you  miss  it  you  could  just  say  that."  but  they  both  knew  the  direct  approach  could  be  too  boring  and  too  simple  for  the  likes  of  each  other.

when  she  sat  up,  his  gaze  did  exactly  what  she  had  intended  and  roamed  over  her  figure.  cash  wondered  where  a  little  flower  could  be,  a  spot  hidden  away  and  seemingly  somewhere  private  and  personal.  it  was  decided  that  ren  hadn't  placed  it  in  the  most  obvious  areas  if  he  started  undressing  her.  "what  kind  of  flower?"  wetting  his  lips,  his  own  controller  aside  now,  his  hand  slipped  under  the  hem  of  her  shirt  and  briefly  covered  the  expanse  of  her  stomach  before  shifting  his  touch  to  her  ribcage.  for  a  moment  his  gaze  pinned  to  the  rise  and  fall  of  her  breasts,  it  was  almost  hypnotic  to  watch,  but  he  had  an  idea  where  this  ink  stained  her  skin.  whether  he  got  back  to  his  game  or  not  didn't  matter,  it  was  paused  and  he  could  continue  later.  currently  this  was  a  win-win  for  him  and  ren  had  made  her  demands  of  his  attention  clear,  and  cash  was  easy  into  submission  there.  his  fingers  found  the  band  of  her  bra  that  crossed  under  her  arm  and  dipped  beneath  it,  even  lightly  snapped  it  against  her  soft  flesh.

"hmm,  i've  never  really  known  you  to  deny  your  hedonism  or  put  it  on  a  leash."  head  turned  his  lips  grazed  her  mouth  as  he  spoke,  cash  could  meet  fire  with  fire.  when  she  ground  into  him  in  response  his  grip  on  her  hips  shifted  her  even  more.  he  couldn't  care  less  about  the  pain  resounding  through  his  abdomen,  but  he  nodded  when  she  wanted  to  break  the  tension.  "did  you  bring  a  swim  suit?"  brow  cocked,  he  shifted  up  in  to  a  sitting  position  with  slight  strain  and  his  hand  smacked  her  on  the  ass.  it  was  a  private  pool  so  it  wouldn't  matter  if  she  had  or  hadn't.  cash  shifted  off  the  couch  and  took  her  with  him,  easily  setting  her  to  her  feet  as  he  stood.  "let  me  pop  a  couple  of  pills  and  then  we'll  go."

"we would eat him alive." perhaps he could handle one of them on a good day but there wasn't any way that he could handle the both of them.
