Whumpee who finally can let go. They’ve been in so much pain; physical and emotional, and Caretaker finally allows them to let go. They’re sick with stress, fever leaving them bedridden for now, lowering inhibitions. When Caretaker treads carefully into the room, they see Whumpee glance up at them, shuffling to sit up and look a little more presentable. But Caretaker gently shakes their head, pushing them down with a softly spoken reassurance. And that does it. The simple act of someone taking Whumpee as who they are, of loving them as who they are, breaks them. They bury their face in the pillows and sob, their whole body shivering and trembling with emotion and exhaustion. Caretaker just gently traces patterns on their arm, letting them know they’re here, they’re safe now. It’s okay and it will continue to be okay.

Medic Caretaker who has several team members to treat and wait until last with Stoic Whumpee because they seem the most fine. Bloody but fine (they're all bloody, most of it not their own). Just to lift up their shirt to see a huge about-to-pass-out-from-blood-loss kind of wound.

customisable android whumpee who spent decades with an owner being sold to another (because its previous owner died or doesn't want it anymore etc) and the new owner completely revamping its look. to the point it doesn't recognise itself in the mirror. new face. new parts. new it.

Caretaker who doesn't believe in God or religion, who never prays, who finds themselves praying for Whumpee to be okay

Mock execution that stops just a little later than you'd think it would.

Whumpee made to dig their own grave. They're driven out, they dig the whole thing, they're made to lay down in it, but Whumper doesn't get them up. Whumper starts shoveling the dirt in on top of them, to the point that their head is covered, and only uncovers them once they're sure that Whumpee has actually begun to suffocate.

Or a Whumpee who's taken out back. Made to kneel, gun to their head. They beg and plead, but the gun actually fires. Maybe it just fires into the ground beside them, or maybe it fires into Whumpee, just not in a fatal place. Still- Whumpee wasn't expecting them to actually fire it.

Maybe it's not the first time a mock execution has happened. Maybe Whumpee goes through the motions thinking it's another intimidation tactic. But then Whumper starts taking that extra step- and that's when Whumpee starts to panic and beg, but at that point it's already "too late".
