Clara Cassidy was born to a prominent Ring 2 family that almost had more dysfunction to their name than they had wealth - and they had a lot of wealth. Her mother was a beautiful but cold woman who always seemed more concerned with how things looked than how they actually were. Her father was incredibly strict and impossible to please, and when things didnât go his way, he got angry. He got angry often, and when he got angry, he got violent.
After sixteen godawful years of pretending to be the perfect family, the only way that Cassidy could see out of her situation was to run - and run she did, to the only place she knew they would never try to look for her. Life in Ring 9 was hard, and she quickly learned that having integrity and moral boundaries was a luxury that she couldnât afford if she wanted to survive. Whatever she had to do and whoever she had to work for to keep going, to stay above the surface, she did. She did things that she didnât want to do. She did things that she was deeply ashamed of. She did things that, over time, earned her the moniker Crimson Cassidy by the many unscrupulous people who hired her. Until one day, the girl who had fallen further than the length of the Amity itself met someone who changed her life forever.
Peggy was a no-nonsense Station Security Officer who saw something in her that she had long since stopped seeing in herself - someone worth saving. It was Peggy who caught her half out of her mind running errands for criminals. It was Peggy who negotiated the deal that ensured that she didn't have to take the fall for it as long as she helped put those people away. And it was with Peggyâs support, guidance, occasional tough love, and never-ending well of patience that Cassidy slowly allowed herself to become more than what sheâd settled for. When she eventually joined Citizen Security, it was to both honour the only real parent sheâd ever known, as well as in the hope that one day, she would be able to pay back the kindness that had been shown to her.

She almost exclusively goes by her surname Cassidy. Very, very few people call her Clara, and even fewer can do it without being heavily side-eyed.
Her real identity is known by her superiors in Citizen Security as well as most of Station Security. She assumes they don't really care about it since word hasn't gotten back to her parents yet.
She has several tattoos. Her first was a blackbird on her right shoulder which she got to signify turning over a new leaf in her life.
She has a sensory mod that allows her to record and replay what she sees and hears. (She uses it for work purposes, before you go getting any kinky ideas!)
She was a runner and later enforcer for a number of seedy people from ages 16 to 22. It was the latter role that earned her the nickname "Crimson Cassidy".
