i love being a mediocre fanfiction writer i love writing completely average one-shots that average 10 kudos i love having 5 drafts and 17 unwritten ideas
academic dishonesty is not something you can spin as moral lol i do not want to share a career field let alone a social sphere with a bunch of chatgpt using ass bitches
"you're just scared your diploma is going to devalue" i'm afraid you dumb bitches are going to become my colleagues and drag social services to hell
I'm afraid they'll become scientists and data that lives depend on will turn out to be wrong - and people will die.
I'm afraid they'll become engineers and sign off on bridge designs that collapse - and people will die.
I'm afraid they'll become medical professionals who don't know what they're doing - and people will die.
The assumption that academic dishonesty is okay is rooted in the idea that what you're learning to do doesn't matter.

this and also the only difference between fanfic writers and writers who sell their own original works as careers is that fanfics aren’t monetized. that’s all.
being a “professional” writer doesn’t mean your works are inherently better than fanfics. I’ve read so many fics that are more professionally written than some published books.
whether or not a piece of writing is monetized has nothing to do with its quality.
as a hellenic polytheist, i have a severe hatred for any greek mythology retellings on ao3. i just hate them. like they get the hades/persephone ones wrong, they dont do any stuff for apollos myths (even though technically they might all be fucking tragedies now that i think about it), other times i just die from second hand embarrassment, but. but uh. medusa aus???????????? oh my GODDDDD JSAIHSAISHEUSHEHEHHEEHEH
sure, what could possibly go wrong

i think i tend to forget how good boredom is for creativity because we're all so addicted to numbing ourselves with screens and stimulation. but standing in the shower or going for a walk with no music or just sitting in your bedroom without being allowed to touch any screens & all of a sudden i have multiple new projects to start, a solution to a months-long plot problem & 4 new original characters
I need my weird alone time or I will explode
