Why is “pretty boy” considered an insult like call me a pretty boy Call me a pretty boy right now I want to be the prettiest boy you’ve ever seen
continued from here. @birb-mother
“You know, that’s interesting– i don’t remember volunteering to be babysat.”
Maybe he wouldn’t have to be if he wasn’t looking so childish. For a being that claims to be several hundred years old, he’s practically bouncing on the poised heels of his triangle-toed shoes.
“I do remember seeing some shops over here when we came into town, though. Several shops. And I smelled food. Something fried and wonderfully disgusting. Have I ever told you that they don’t fry anything down below?”
He’s already six steps ahead of her, turning to look over his shoulder.
“Pearl! It’s been so long since I went local– I must try everything! Aren’t you coming?”
Despite herself, Pearl couldn’t help but smile. No matter how she might roll her eyes, the lopsided grin on her face gave it away that she enjoyed the company regardless. Even though he was, admittedly, rather… childish, Pearl could understand it in part.
“Well, you’d certainly not need to be babysat if you didn’t stick out like a sore thumb- and likely cause mischief, I’m sure.” Pearl’s nose scrunched slightly at the smells despite herself. “Besides- what does food mean to you, anyways? You don’t need to eat, do you?
“…Although, I admit, there’s some rather lovely shops around here. We can start anywhere- though you mustn’t get too far ahead!”
With little difficulty, she found herself able to catch up once again, although not too fond of it.
“You’ll need to slow down if you truly want to appreciate it, you know, Teo. You’ll miss out on all the small city charm if you rush through it all. You’ve got all the time in the world.”
“What does food mean to me? My dear--” Teo makes a dramatic gesture with one hand to emphasize his point. “--food is the only thing about human culture that doesn’t usually spark horrible controversy! Well, almost. There was that nasty business with the cannibalism, but I think it’s mostly finished by now...”
He slows down just for her, though his long strides still cover a lot of ground. His conversation gets more and more peppered with emphatic sweeps of his arm or little flicks and flourishes of white-gloved fingers. Teodorus is still very enthusiastic.
“And besides! All the best thought happens in cafés. Oh, to be a fly on the wall while the great philosophers argued over their lunches! I missed it-- I was burning books in Venice, to my regret-- ooooh, are those chocolate?”
The demon has been utterly distracted by the contents of a shop window. He blinks at the chocolate-frosted donuts and wonders if he remembered to bring money-- and for that matter, how much money anything costs nowadays.

Send my muse “👀 + a question” and they’ll have to answer with 100% honesty.
No deleting questions, either!
i still have drafts but need something fresh to distract myself from emotions and responsibilities
maybe like/reblog this for a starter, or maybe just an ask meme to pop up in your inbox…? owo
📕 gasp. i can't believe you'll do it if we haven't interacted. you're so good. for crimsonkiind? only if you want--
@crimsonkiind // what up here we go
He’s tall. Almost awkwardly so. I don’t want to like him, but despite there being no feasible reason for it, I feel oddly drawn to him.
He’s… Not bad-looking, if a little eccentric. Red hair–legitimately burgundy, not a shade of brown–and porcelain-like skin, pale and smooth. His skin looks so good, in fact, I think he may be wearing makeup. His cheekbones are well-defined and high, giving him an almost regal look.
He’s certainly not someone you see walking down the street every day. I don’t know why he’s approached me or why he’s talking to me–and actually, I’m not really sure why I’m still talking to him. Surprisingly enough, though, I’m not uncomfortable. Maybe a little confused, of course, but not terribly unsettled.
Send my muse some bad pick-up lines!
Hey all, could you reblog or like this if you would be interested in interacting with the diver from the new game A.bzu? Be warned, this blog contains spoilers for the game and is heavily headcanon based due to the game’s nature, so be sure to check out the guidelines and bio!
RP starters: Concern.
“It’s midnight, where the hell were you?!”
“Stop keeping your phone in silent, you got me worried!”
“Blood? Are you bleeding?”
“I don’t like the idea of you walking down the streets all alone.”
“I thought I would never see you again…”
“We should get you to hospital.”
“Where did all those bruises came from?”
“I have the right to be worried!”
“Have you been drinking? You look terrible.”
“Sleep at my place tonight.”
“I don’t feel safe letting you be alone when you’re in that shape.”
“Please talk to me about it.”
“Let me take care of you.”
“You need to rest now. Don’t move.”
“How many times have I told you to not go there?”
“You could’ve died, you know…”
“I don’t care if you don’t want my help, I’ll do it anyways.”
“You really need to stop drinking. I’m serious.”
“This time you got yourself into a hospital. I think that’s a sign.”
“Are you sure you’re okay?”
“You need to stop doing stupid shit like that or you will get yourself killed.”
“I’m your friend, of course I care!”
“You know I’m always here for you, right?”
“You’re not okay.”
“I’m just trying to help you.”
“Let me clean your wounds…”
“Why did you do it? Tell me.”

“It doesn’t matter anyway,” said Teodorus airily, “because I know just barely enough Latin to be able to read a children’s picture book.”
“They write picture books in Latin?” asked April, incredulous.
“Well-- no,” Teo admitted, “but you see what i mean.”
Teodorus followed the shark into the house and positioned himself against the opposite wall. He felt too tall for the place his head was in, especially comparative to the much shorter shark on the couch… Unfortunately, he wasn’t capable of adjusting his height. This would have to do.
“Mmmm. There are quite a few places worse than Hell, I think. Little slices of mythology, far as I know– it’s just a place. Like any other.” Crossing one leg over the other, the demon tried to conjure a suitable description of the obsidian towers in the city of night, the deep red of the faraway rock, the one lonely river… It didn’t really lend itself to words.
“It’s very dry. Lots of mountains. Of course, they blasted an awful lot of them away when they built the cities… but it’s where I was born… so I suppose that grants me some opinions.” He chuckled at the mortal concept that used to so amuse him when he was first hearing about it. “No tortured screaming of the infernal damned, if that’s what you expect.”
Thank goodness. It actually looked like a fairly long couch. Maybe he wouldn’t have to sleep on the floor after all. Now that he was looking about the inside, he began to smile yet again. A cute little cottage-ish thing. Quaint, nearly. Certainly no Hôtel Fouquet de Paris, but it would more than serve– he was beginning to believe he was lucky to get anything at all.
“Food and a night’s rest suits me perfectly. And, ah…”
“…a look around would be excellent too. I only hope i’m not imposing. You’ll have to forgive me if I seem overcautious. I’m just so accustomed to people being far too busy. Or maybe just inhospitable.”
Teo glanced off upstairs as Samekichi mentioned it, but didn’t make any move toward the place. A shared bedroom.. how many people lived here? It seemed so small; he’d guess two at most, but here his host was saying ‘everyone.’
“I’ll do my best to be out of the way. Although if you and your housemates don’t object, I may take a look at that piano. Perhaps I can pay you back a bit with something pleasant, hm?…”
Slowly the shark’s offer was beginning to sink in. His golden eyes were lighting up with excitement that far outweighed the subdued version on his face.
“But oh, never mind that! It’ll be here. Tell me, where might we be going?”
It felt almost comical to look at the demon, who seemed incredibly out of place within the living room full of blues and whites. Everything felt soft until it hit the red figure propped up against the wall- although Samekichi knew he was no better, as someone clad entirely in black and dark grey. The only flecks of actual color on the shark were his newly blue eyes and on the patches of his jacket- otherwise, there was nothing.
“…Doesn’t sound as bad, but you have a point. You were born there. Don’t know if I can entirely rely on your opinion.” Samekichi definitely felt he’d be stuck there nonetheless, no matter what he’d done to try and help. Mountains didn’t sound as bad as streets littered with corpses and eyes boring into him from all sides- and that was on the good streets. “Darn- I was hoping for that.”
He actually cracked a smile at the ludicrous idea of it. There definitely seemed to be a gap between the mortal understanding and the actual place, if he could bring himself to fully trust Teo, and decided hell might not be so bad.
“Though as a shark- I’d probably worry most ‘bout how much water there is there. Sure, I’m perfectly fine above the water and could live that way, but dry and sharks don’t mix.”
Samekichi couldn’t help but laugh- a genuine, soft one- at the idea of being busy.
“Look, I’m a familiar. As long as this sea isn’t threatening the one who’s protecting it, I’ve got nothing else to do- might be why I was harsh on you from the start. It’s like being a bodyguard- except I’m not needed as much anymore. Kind of need a break from it, anyways, and there’s three other familiars who live here. Word of recommendation; don’t cross the octopus.”
It would only logically make sense that Wadanohara was the other one, but Samekichi wasn’t that worried about Teo anymore. In the worst case scenario, he and Wadanohara slept close to one another and he’d definitely rouse the second anyone took a step up their staircase- needless to say, sharing the home with four other people, he definitely didn’t get enough shut eye.
“I’d have to ask the other person- that makes five living here- about that. It’s her piano- and she’d likely not mind. I’m sure she’d be fine with it- might not even bother to ask.” His voice was lighter at the mention, slowly rising up from the couch again with the same smile still on his lips, moving towards the front door once again. “Though that can wait. If we head out now, you’ll be able to see our sea- and maybe some islands too, if you’re lucky. I know all the best places.”
…He’d just avoid showing any of the truly important ones.
Five..?
The demon took another glance around the small house, entirely unable to stop the incredulousness that spread over his features, however rude he felt like it was. Five people, in this tiny place? How did they manage? How did they breathe? How did anyone ever have any semblance of personal space?
Well-- tonight would sure be interesting.
“You were perfectly fine, believe me,” Teo laughed, shaking his head with a sheepish smile. “You needn’t worry about that. I must admit I’m used to somewhat worse, especially from strangers... demonkind has a few unpleasant prejudices.” He waved his hand, batting the idea away as quickly as it had come. “I won’t bore you with any details. But you’ve nothing to worry about.”
His eyes were still bright with excitement as he followed the shark back out the door. What a strange place this was! He was very enthusiastic when it came to seeing more of it. With any luck his little bit of tourism could turn into a far longer escape than he’d originally planned, if only because he might actually know where he was going. And he was all too willing to let Samekichi guide him around for the day. One always got the best tours from locals, after all-- and sure, his impromptu guide was a bit gruff, but... somewhat endearingly so.
“I still must repay you somehow, you know. I’m sure one of us will come up with something... can’t just mooch all your time from you, now can I? Not without some kind of payment. I really don’t want to be any trouble.” The last time he took a free place to sleep with nothing in return, it ended badly for everyone. He doubted that it would come to that kind of ending with this familiar, but he certainly didn’t want to take any risks if he could help it.
He changed the subject as his brightly polished shoes crossed the threshold.
“So-- tell me more about these islands of yours! Am I thinking of the right sort of island, or do you mean something else? I really haven’t any substantial experience on the matter.” Teo chuckled at himself-- he wasn’t entirely sure why he’d decided to run off here, of all places. Maybe because it was such an extreme difference to Hell. “It might sound odd to you, but for the last few hundred years the largest body of water I’d seen was a river. Seas are something of a novelty.”
He was still looking at everything around as he followed Samekichi dutifully-- but he looked at Samekichi too, with some interest. A familiar, hm? And he didn’t mind it? How did that relationship go?
“I’d say it’s just about time to get my feet wet again.” The tall demon laughed softly at his own joke. “So to speak.”
