Nan Feng and Fu Yao had stalled Xie Lian after all. Shen Yuan just barely had time to curl protectively around Xie Lian before the thick, icy wave of snow surged relentlessly and swallowed them whole, separating them from Hua Cheng. The force knocked Shen Yuan everywhere, and he tumbled along with the coursing snow. Although he somehow managed to keep hold of Xie Lian to his chest, there was just too much snow and the force was too powerful. Shen Yuan and Xie Lian were buried again and again, suffocating over and over each time their heads went under.
In the end, Shen Yuan couldn’t hang on. With a final shout of “Hua Cheng!” he was devoured by the icy snow current.
Hopefully Hua Cheng would still be able to find Xie Lian after Shen Yuan froze to death.

I’m still not over the fact that SY actually, genuinely almost fucking DIED and we only find out from HC after HC decided to choke him out!! At least we got Zhi Ming out of it! <33 ZM is so sweet and sad I hope he is happy forever in his new body
