Changing pathways...

I started off at UC Merced as a Biology major and my second year during the spring semester i decided to take a spanish course. I instantly fell in love with the class and the atmosphere it brought. So I decided to change my major to Spanish. Sure I could have continued with Biology but sometimes you find out that you may not want to do something you thought you did. Changing to being a Spanish major is perhaps the best decision I have made thus far in college and I am very excited to continue!

College goes by fast...

As cliche as it sounds it really does seem like just yesterday I walked into my freshmen writing class, but now I’m walking into classes being a third year student. It’s exciting but scary as well how time flies by. Remember to stop and enjoy the moment sometimes. Because before you know it, you realize the cashier said to you: “have a good day sir..” but you’re not even 20 yet...

Becoming a college student

becoming a college student is so stressful, fun, amazing, scary, weird, insane, cool and just about every adjective can fit into here but at the end of the day being a college student is about expanding your knowledge and becoming a better individual. Good luck to everyone starting college and remember to enjoy the ride even if at times you hate it.

The Financial Aid office has posted on my bill your “Authorized Aid Balance” is how much financial aid you have to cover your “Overall Balance”. 

If the amount is negative under “Bill Balance” or “Pay Now” then it is how much you’ll receive as a refund, but if it is a positive amount then it is how much you need to cover out of pocket by Wednesday Aug. 19.

An animal control officer in Olathe, Kansas, recently hauled in a 60-pound (27-kg) carp that was lying in a drainage ditch.
