theres a real answer to this. if i understand correctly because of the way proportions work a smaller thing’s ratio of surface area to interior is greater, so a mini mnm will have proportionally more candy shell and less chocolate interior than a normal size mnm. so even if you increased in size this much the ratio of chocolate to shell in a normal mnm would remain the same so they would not taste like the more-candy-per-total-mass mini mnms. if mnms increased in size proportionally with you, they would taste more chocolatey than normal mnms
this is a similar concept to the reason why creatures in the deep sea can evolve to be gigantic despite the rarity of food sources: its actually metabolically more efficient to be fuckhuge because your surface area/body mass ratio will be less and thus youll lose less heat through your skin (relative to your mass) to the surrounding cold environment of the sea than a smaller organism would lose
you’re everything
huh. so i just found out "Torment Nexus" was invented for that one specific meme. i genuinely thought it was from an Orson Scott Welles novel. my ignorance is an unending source of surprise and delight
um. Orson Wells. H.G. Scott Welles. H. George Orson Orwell. Philip Bradbury. stop making me keep track of white men names
in my defense all of these are separate individuals famous within classic sci-fi circles:
H.G. Wells
George Orwell
(George) Orson Welles
Orson Scott Card
at some point this is not my burden
the names of classic sci-fi authors appear to have amalgamated into a nexus of some kind. one that is tormenting you, perhaps.
They do indeed.
Also yeah, the G in "H.G. Wells" stands for George.

In the Star Trek fandom on Tumblr, I have often seen discussions about “NuTrek” as a whole (which I’m using here to refer to Star Trek shows that have aired between 2017 and the present) generally being derivative, nostalgia-driven, and primarily referencing and utilizing characters, storylines, and other elements from older Star Trek shows rather than involving new/original characters, elements, etc. I’m wondering which NuTrek shows people on here believe are the least affected by this.
To be clear, I’m not asking here which NuTrek show you prefer or think was most well done, I’m specifically asking about which show is the least reliant on reusing elements from older Star Trek shows and involves the largest amount of original elements, regardless of whether you personally liked those original elements.
Which “NuTrek” show do you think is generally the LEAST derivative in relation to older Trek shows and involves the most original ideas REGARDLESS of how well you think those original ideas were actually written?
Discovery
Picard
Lower Decks
Prodigy
Strange New Worlds
I don’t think this characterization of NuTrek as derivative is accurate
I haven’t seen enough NuTrek to answer this
