April brings with it more rain than Luna has ever seen in her entire life. It doesn’t pour, not the way it does in New York in the summer—it’s a constant drizzle instead, a nonstop pitter patter against the roof, the windowsills, the ground. It leaves Luna feeling like she can never get quite fully dry, or fully warm. She finds herself clutching a mug of hot tea every time she has a moment to herself in the café, holding it close to her chest to let its heat emanate into her body.

“Caller, you’re on the air. How can I heal you tonight?”

“I didn’t phone ya to be healed. I called to say this is rubbish. That YOU are full of shit.” An angry Irish accent blundered over the airwaves.

“Excuse me? You wanna repeat that again?”

“You can’t possibly heal anyone unless you’ve been in their shoes, love.”

My mouth gaped and I realized I was too shocked to reply. I’ve never gotten a caller this rude before.

I swallowed slowly, “The healing process starts when we stop being a burden to ourselves. I simply offer a platform for open discussion in matters of the heart. What’s your name, caller?”

“You’re not ready for that, love.” The line went dead. I tried calling him back and seethed when I caught PRIVATE labeled on the caller ID. Fuck.

You know, I’ve seen a lot of spread of hatred on here recently, especially towards fic writers, and it’s really making this site an unenjoyable space to be in.

It shouldn’t need to be reiterated anymore than it already has, but I’m going to outline it again.

Fic writers write for free.

We write because we enjoy it, and we post it because we want to share what we’ve created with people who appreciate it.

Fic writers owe you nothing.

If you have ever sent an ask, or a message or a comment demanding a story you’re waiting for an update on in a rude and ignorant manner, you’re not speeding up the process, if anything you’re slowing it down. You, as a reader, are not entitled to shit when you’re reading for free, what is created for free.

If you have ever sent anything that insults a fic writer’s abilities, you are spreading needless hate. You also do not have the rite to guilt trip a writer you’ve insulted when they defend themselves in response to your hate.

Choose your fucking words.

All we get is your validation through notes, and most of the time only a percentage of those notes are reblogs. When I say we get nothing, we literally get nothing.

Sooner or later there won’t be any fucking fic writers left. Who are you going to harass then?

The next time you’re up on your high horse of entitlement ready to type out another update demand or useless critique, fucking reconsider it, and don’t bother.

Niall couldn’t sit still no matter how hard he tried. There’s something about being a room full of strangers that still gets to him, making his body shake for what seems like hours on end. He could be in front of thousands of unfamiliar faces while rocking out on stage to the songs he wrote- he was fine then, but to be a room that stifled the air he breathes was something that he couldn’t do.

He ran his fingers through his hair once again as if the last time made any difference in the oily hair. He knew he needed to wash his hair, but that seemed like such a hassle when his schedule was nonstop. He looked at his reflection and for a brief moment found only disappointment as if the person looking back at him would be different. Like it wouldn’t be him.

He took over the world, and the world let him do so without any question. He was somebody until he died.

Nisha Lall is sort of used to living in the shadow of her older sister. She doesn’t have anything against that. After all, she’d much rather hide out in a corner with a good romance novel than be in the spotlight. This proves to be somewhat tricky when she’s chosen as her sister’s maid of honor for her over-the-top Indian wedding and she can’t seem to evade everyone’s attention. She’d probably be able to handle it if it weren’t for a certain blue-eyed best man who doesn’t seem to notice how impossibly nervous she gets in his presence and has made it his mission to constantly seek her out. 

A story of hopeless romantics, an easter wedding, a maid of honor who has a really big crush on the best man, and a night in a tiny hotel room (with only one bed) that may or may not be the beginning of something. 

written for the 1dff discord server fic challenge; based on the “there was only one bed” trope with an easter twist.

Sanjana’s taking out ingredients from her fridge to make smoothies for her and Niall when the doorbell rings. The sound brings a huge smile to her face as she sets down the carton of blueberries, almond milk, and bunch of bananas she was balancing. She starts making her way through her kitchen, the living room, and then the foyer that leads to the entrance area.

When she’s right in front of the door, she pauses for a few moments, hoping that she doesn’t look too eager to see Niall when she opens the door. Ever since their… whatever it was back at the bar, they’ve been spending a lot of time together. More time than she’s spent with anyone since her accident. On the days they don’t meet with Daniel, they meet at parks or at her place, doing exercises, talking, just being around each other.

Today, they’re meeting with Daniel, and they’ve started to carpool together too. It’s Niall’s turn to drive and she figured the least she can do is whip up some protein smoothies for them. She takes a deep breath and when the bells rings once more, and unlocks her door, waiting to find the ridiculously handsome man she looks forward to seeing every day on the other side.

“You know, love… I’m in no hurry to die,” he chuckles anxiously, wondering how long he can really protest getting into the car by standing out in the island heat wearing a suit. 

“I learned how to drive in this car,” Adelia scoffs, indignant, “And besides… Crashing in a ball of flames on the Pearl of Orient in this beaut? You should be so lucky.”

Niall knows the latter is a joke to ease the tension, but he can’t help but feel a certain uncomfortable stirring in his stomach. 

“I prefer to go out in an old Porsche, a la James Dean, thanks,” he responds, getting into the car in a huff and wondering why he hadn’t the foresight to get his international license sorted before the trip.

“Sorry I didn’t have the time to locate the Little Bastard for you,” she jests, sympathetically.

“Well if you’re behind the wheels, I guess it’s more of a Princess of Monaco situation, not really a shabby way to go either,” Niall quips, pushing her buttons right back.
