Hello! Anon here. Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if Kaien Shiba lived past Metastacia, and then I remember it would have probably pretty in-fucking-convenient for everyone. Especially Isshin Shiba.
Shiba Kaien is the only Shiba with common sense, a strong devotion to family and the exact same stupidity of martyrdom, sacrifice and pride that, although it got his ass killed, i’m pretty sure it was something like a suicide, would not tolerant any of Issin’s bullshit.

Isshin: I’ll fake my death and go down to the Living World and never tell any of my children who they are, where they come from or why they see ghosts. I will never teach them how to handle the mental strain, any form of protection, nor will I teach them to identify Shinigami and stay away as their entire existence is illegal. In the likely event that their mother dies, I will act generally unreliable as a responsible adult, let alone any kind of support, and leave the actual raising of my children to my son. I won’t tell them about the truth of their mother’s death, about her family, her powers and you know what? Who needs a thousand years of history to define yourself with? It’s not like you will have Quincies, Hollows or Shinigami looking to kill you, right? Aizen? Never heard of him?(Also, when I avenge Misaki’s death, it won’t even cross my mind to tell anyone. At all. Nothing.)

Aizen’s plan would be in tatters, because you know how dangerous someone is to the evil mastermind’s plan when they not only go for early removal, but taking down an entire noble clan.
Like this guy is so dangerous, I’ll kill his wife in a manner that will lure him into a trap, kill him, and then make sure his soul is trapped in an Espada so he does start his reincarnation.
