This was the most romantic thing anyone had ever done for him. His dates with Tweek were teenage dates, kissing between video games and holding hands at parties. Sometimes a movie when they could afford it. Nothing like this. A picnic and soft pretty fields and flowers. A greasy bag of take out fast food, burger king had good veggie burgers now, beyond burgers, He hummed softly as he smoothed down the blanket he brought and the food at his vans clad feet.
Kenny was so handsome. Golden sunshine blond hair and tanned skin. Bright eyes and that smile. That mischievous smile that made him believe things would be ok. That he could loosen up and actually have fun. Not worry, not listen to that voice in his head that said work harder, be better, study more. Grad school was trying and he was working full time and he tried to have time for Kenny and Trish and Tweek and Clyde. He worked too hard and slept too little, but Kenny made everything better. Quieter in his head. He looked over at him with those giant eyes of his. He was all eyes and limbs and pointy elf ears that stuck out.
That field was so pretty. Wildflowers growing free and it smelled like clover and sunshine and earth. He so carefully got out of the car and balanced the blanket in his skinny little bird boned arms and the food and reached a soft hand out to Kenny to support him as he climbed out of the car. He gently set everything down to grab his crutches for him and balance him back to where he needed to be.
“Your poor foot.” He cooed softly. He made sure Kenny was on solid ground before picking everything back up. He also had a wicker basket balanced in the crook of his skinny arms. “I packed a surprise in here, I think you’ll find it agreeable.” He told him as he lead him to the perfect spot. Where the flowers parted and the ground was even. He ran the data, he made sure it was just right.
“Im going to help you sit down, just give me a moment.” He told him as he smoothed out the blanket, perfect and even on all sides. It had to be right, it had to be perfect. This was their first real date. He made sure Kenny wasn’t looking at him and smoothed down his hair and his t shirt and hoped he didn’t look too messy. He took Kenny crutches and gently helped him lower to the ground. He was taking care of someone, he so rarely did that. There was something about Craig that made people think he needed to be taken care of, he was sure it was the doll cheeks and eyes. But Kenny let him take care of him and he appreciated that.
“Alright, ready for the surprise?” He asked him excited in a way that a twenty two year on a first date would be. “I brought champange!” He held up the bottle and two plastic wine goblets. “Its very fancy.” He told him as he popped the cork and poured Kenny a glass.
