disabilities i think that the stranger things characters should have had if the ass bothers weren't afraid of representation or! post cannon and disabilities for the ST characters to include in fics
mike - facial scar from season 3 (ik that it's not a disability it counts for this) more expanded upon ptsd and survivors guilt, bonus point if he actually has depression
el -chronic migraines from the strain of her powers, more of her dealing with the physical role of her powers (migraines, fatigue, body pain, light sensitivity, tenitus ect) scars from her time with brenner and the medical abuse she suffered from him
will - asthma and body tremors (plus more expanded upon ptsd and depression as well as addressing what was basically SA) chronic pain if we're feeling bold and a weird relationship with temperature and some more scaring from post season 1 surgeries and the season 2 fire poker
lucas - severe codependency issues with max after season 5 and also insomnia
dustin - a limp or any issues with his leg from season 4 that never go a chance to heal. maybe a cane or brace?
max- blind or eye issues, wheelchair bound or with mobility issues, chronic pain, at least some braces? any effects at all from her year long coma and having her eyes brutally damaged and her body snap crackle popped??
steve - tenitus or chronic migraines from all of the concussions plus more expanded upon trauma from season 3, the pain from his bat scars that where probably super infected? any call back to his season 4 day from hell?
robin - actually made neurodivergent? instead of "quirky"? plus again season 3 side effects and serious paranoia?
nancy - some joint issues in her shoulder (no way does constant probably improper gun usage not mess up ur shoulder? she never actually learned how to use a gun this has to be messing her up) maybe some hearing loss (gun), nerve damage in her hand from season 1 if we feel particularly angsty
jonathan - substance addiction from season four, actually adressed depression ect instead of just "oh that's jon he's weird and a loser" big survival guilt, hand nerve damage and abandonment issues and self worth problems
joyce - (gonna be real i don't really know any canon stuff she would have besides the anxiety which while not perfectly handled is sort of addressed so) more in-depth handling of her anxiety and depression
hopper- oh i don't know any lasting effects from the *year he spent in a russian prison?* ( side note what the hell was that plot line i can't) but actually joint pain, fatigue, residual problems from the radiation exposure that he apparently had in the war? i literally don't know they've done so much yet so little to this man ypu could say anything and i'd just nod.
anyway comment or tag any ideas y'all have!
(also all the characters need more expanded upon ptsd this is just like those i think where especially overlooked)
(also i'm not disabled physically nor do i have ptsd so pls dont take this as like hard truth it's just some headcanons)
