Prolly the stupidest question ever but in Gladiator (2000) is the way Commodus finds out about Maximus’ plan to escape through.. Lucilla? Did she tell because she didn’t want her son to die?

I saw someone comment that on someone’s fic that claims that’s what happened and I was just wondering is that like canon or a theory?

And if it’s “so obviously” canon that thats what happened,

1. I NEVER claimed to be the sharpest tool in the shed and
