This post by @etherealsanakin is such a godsend, I just had to add my own little headcanons about sleepy/tired/cuddly moments with Ani:
You know that feeling when a lil kitty or a puppy crawls into your lap and just curls up into you and nudges you with their head to get you to pet them š„ŗ and theyāre so cute and small and soft. š„ŗ Yeah thats what Anakin feels like when he holds you.
He just thinks itās such a blessing whenever he gets to hold you because youāre so cute and it makes him so happy that you want to just be there with him. And youāre so precious when you fall asleep in his arms, suddenly he realizes heās never moving again, not even if heās in an odd position, not if itās gonna wake you because he wants to stay there for hours and just watch over you.
And in situations like that, he gets so protective. Heās got this adorable, sleeping person in his arms and he would rather watch the galaxy burn and fall to pieces than have anyone hurt you while youāre sleeping, especially since you trusted him enough to fall asleep in his arms.
Makes him all soft inside cause he loves how you feel safe enough around him in order to do that.
And the weight of you on him so comforting, he loves to feel squished so heāll often pull you closer into him when he feels you drifting.
His face is like š„ŗ this the whole time. When you shift in your sleep, stretching your arms, nudging yourself deeper into him, sighing against his chest, melting into him. Heās the happiest man alive in that moment.
Bonus points if your hands get cold and you bring them up to cradle under your chin, seeping up warmth from his chest.
Bonus bonus points for if he lightly scratches the back of your neck and you shiver. He loves getting a reaction out of you and feeling you melt into him.
But if you start shivering from the cold for real, heās quick to call a blanket to him and drape it over you.
If a noise startles you awake, heāll hush you back to sleep like āHey, hey, itās okay. Youāre alright. Go back to sleep. Iāve got you.ā
Loves hearing your soft breathing. It soothes his own worries, calms his mind, and often he finds himself drifting to the steady rise and fall.
Maybe you come back to your apartment one day to see him asleep in bed.. taking a nap or something. Your heart goes all š„° because Anakin has so much trouble sleeping and youāre glad heās getting some rest now.
And he looks so cute and peaceful that you curl up beside him and watch his face as he sleeps. How relaxed he isā heās not having any nightmares, not yet at least. And you watch him sleep, listen to the steady rise and fall of his breathing. Study every inch of his face because itās the only time you can look at him straight on unashamedly, and really appreciate his beauty.
And you accidentally fall asleep like this, but when you wake up his arm is wrapped around you and your face is in his chest. And heās still sleeping soundly so you cuddle up into him, and he sighs in his sleep and pulls you even closerā š„ŗ
I think heād be so great to nap with. Cause heās a heavy mf sleeper when he lets his guards down, which only ever really happens when heās at your apartment, off duty and away from the war. If heās getting a good rest, and falls asleep with no nightmares, nothing is waking him up. So you can shift and stretch and be as restless as you want, and you donāt have to worry about waking him up.
And when he wakes up, his eyes are all fluttery and his voice is all raspy and the soft, lazy smile he gives youā šš
Awww omg the messy hair. š„ŗš„ŗ His hair is messy anyways but after he takes a nap the lil curlies are probably just everywhere and he looks like a little lion ugh.
Everything is and soft and warm and quiet as he slowly wakes up.
