Decided to do a like. Age chart thing with Greyless to practice painting some more and just.

Sometimes I think about what a fucking Loser Nerd Greyless is but also what a Good Mom he is. He’s. Such a good mom. Cries.
Finally decided to finish this and ended up spending way more time than I meant to whoops.
Vossir, my Golgari devkarin lich fanwalker! His spike ignited in the process of dying, and now he meticulously documents saporling’s variations and evolution across the planes. He wants nothing to do with whatever the current multiplanar drama is. He just wants to farm and research his plants in peace.

Vossir has no idea how old he is anymore. His view of time is in ‘saporling generations’, because honestly that’s all he pays attention to anymore. That, and he’s frankly not sure how time across the multiverses work, so he just tries not to think about it and stays focused on whatever his current flock of saporlings is.
He usually spends a good amount of time on each plane to make sure he has a good documentation of saporling morphologies and origins before moving on. He collects spores from each plane to hybridize and mess with later. He’s probably had a storage of them and his work on Innistrad before Shit Hit The Fan.
He was likely murdered / stabbed and left to die in the sewers by his wife in a ploy for power. He hasn’t gone back to Ravnica since, and has no plan to. He considers the person he was on Ravnica to have just died then, and that his rebirth as a lich and a planeswalker is a rare chance to start fresh.
Vossir still strongly clings to the Golgari philosophies of life and death.
He added a little pitchfork / rake to the end of his staff to make his life easier.
Really just wants to be left to his own devices to study and farm his little plant kids. He basically avoids contact with the local denizens of each plane if he can and hangs out in some remote hut surrounded by saporlings.
THEY ARE HIS CHILDREN. Who die constantly but that’s Life.
Honestly he’s probably harmless.

I’m still torn over how I wanna write stuff for Greyless but also.
I wanna write the not-a-AU anymore and.
The shitty only vaguely original shit about a 16 year old settler girl and her ‘adventures’ in a city of undead with her 5 new undead ‘family’ members while she tries 2 face the end of days in the form of a mountain-sized dragon or six.
Greyless dresses like aristocracy and like he came from Money but he’s the first of like five kids to a retired adventurer turned farmer and his farmer wife from a buttfuck nowhere farm village.
Man, Val really picked one of the worst times in her life to be human again. Academia would probably be a LOT easier when you’re a lich with minimal need for shit like eating and sleeping.
Val is finally alive again and now always tired / jacked up on coffee because she has papers to do. Suffering.
Haven becomes a nightmare because Vecna keeps teaching him magic that’s WAY out of his league but Haven still has the capacity to use it. But Vecna also Does Not Care about the repercussions of having a kid who can use Mage Hand at like 5 because when Haven gets sugar high because NOTHING is out of his reach anymore it’s not his problem it’s Greyless’s.
Greyless has almost had a heart attack SO MANY TIMES because he’s never informed of what Haven’s been taught. Find Haven about to jump off the balcony? It’s fine, his father taught him Feather Fall, but Greyless sure doesn’t know that until his son has already flung himself over the railing. Think you’ve lost your child? No, he’s just fucking Invisible. Have to deal with a bruised tailbone because Levitation was fun for the 3 seconds he could maintain it. Similarly, Spider Climb related injuries. Getting adorable and yet still very obnoxious Messages at 2 in the morning because Haven Can. Watching your son Misty Step into a fucking door and knock himself unconscious. Any offensive-based spells that he’s banned from using indoors.
Haven learns WAY too many spells very early in his life, which is I guess the plus side of being a demigod and having said father be very, very good at magic.
Mega dumb thoughts while napping: Haven being a Big Dweeb Baby and really loving to pull on jewelry, especially his father’s earrings. Greyless always having to find something else for Haven to chew / tug on that isn’t Vecna’s earrings or something, even if Haven being a dork is the only thing that really gets Vecna to Really Smile.

Now i’m trapped on if I write dumb verse where Greyless has 2 keep a living patron alive or just drabbles. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
This horrible incredible week of fanwalkers in virginkiller shirts inevitably made me imagine my unnamed walker in one. Which lead to A) imagining Golgari virgin killer outfits that have a giant hole like that because... they’re lacy fungi. And then the possibility of lacy fungi outfits with Choice Holes.
And B) my poor lich in a virgin killer sweater, as uncomfortable as everyone around them I can only be sure.

It’s so unlikely I feel because he’s the God of Secrets but like. I like to imagine Vecna as being a Overly Doting Villain to Greyless where Greyless just gets drowned in affection and gifts and is put up on a pedestal and if anyone looks at him wrong Vecna fucking annihilates them. Subtly and yet overly dramatic and adoring BF. Fusses over Greyless too much, esp because Greyless is sort of a weenie and much Prettier and Fragile than... Kas. Whoops. A different sort of BF to dote over.
Trying to… figure out… people… cuz I have not drawn them enough recently and i’m not happy with my people. So Greyless, Casil, and a much older Haven?? Shrugging violently.
No matter how shit goes, Greyless is basically the only ‘parent’ for Haven, because I could never see Vecna being able to parent. His mom was Teacher Figure and he’s been Teacher Figure to every kid he’s come into contact with and I imagine it would be the same for poor Haven. So Greyless is... parent. In the not shitty world, Greyless is usually ‘dad’ and sometimes ‘mom’, and Vecna is only ever ‘father’.
Haven’s a bratty child with Too Much Power but mellows the fuck out in his teens in a okay world, and then just wants to do that Cool Adventurer Thing everyone else does. While trying to learn lessons and making sure to see Greyless at least once a year to keep him from worrying. He’s probably a wizard/sorcerer and his familiar is def a snake that may or may not be Mok’sylk.
Wanted to force myself to stay awake until 10 so I doodled the Greyless family. Or at least, Haothahvun Greyless II and the world where he has a son, Haothahvun “Haven” Greyless III. I’m still not good at drawing people or relatives but.
Haven def takes up after his father, but to his dismay inherited his ‘mom’ / dad’s early graying.
