After conquering their throne and establishing a unified kingdom, the succession issue becomes a matter of gossip among the people and the court. While Damianos is away on a months mission, Laurent takes the matter into his hands and brings back the solution from the Vaskian tribes.

What am I thinking? Well... As pregnancy is not magic with such a big orgy with the Vaskian women, Damianos and the ladies must have produced some male heirs. Since males are not as valued by Vaskian women, I think Laurent could reach an agreement.

Want more ideas? Well... I was thinking about at least 1 male heir, probably 2. I was thinking about a girl, "not good enough" for the Vaskian women. Normally, I think about her being blind in her left eye. But she can be seen as "not good enough" for other reasons.

-> Does one look like a copy-paste of Damianos, and is that noticed by Makedon? Yes, that seems fun. The other kid is blonde, like Laurent, because that's just cute. Because of that, does Nikandros (and Damen) wonder for a moment if Damen got Laurent pregnant? Well, of course!

-> Does Damianos first see the boys and the girl upon arrival with Nik and Makedon running to Laurent, calling him papa in Veretian? Yes. Has Laurent been teaching them solely Veretian? C'mon, of course.

-> I imagine another boy, slightly older. Maybe 4, 5, 6... Maybe neglected by the women, not with the necessary physical structure, but clever. Cleverness, which Laurent notices and falls in love with. Maybe he reminds him a bit of Nicaise..

What if the children go to schools unafraid of tear gas and bullets?

What if the birds come back, and the bees are healed, and every species moves from endangered, to threatened, to thriving?

What if every parking lot had solar panels? What if every structure had solar panels? What if we built climbing gyms and terraced gardens in the skeletons of old coal power plants?

What if you baked your neighbor bread, and they shared their home-grown blackberries?

What if every person who needed a home, had one? What if every person who needed healing was healed?

What if every body was treasured for what it was, not what it should be?

What if every trans child's parents attended their graduation, their wedding, their new-name-day?

What if every warehouse became a closed-circle repair station? Goods flowing out, and back, and out again? What if landfills started to SHRINK?

What if the water and air were clean? What if there was enough public transit that the cars dwindled, leaving the streets safe for kids on bikes, evening deer, midnight cats and foxes?

I've been working on a kid fic and I need to share my head cannons for all the side characters and how they are with children.

Nikandros is 100% that uncle. He plays with the kids for hours, lets them dress him up and play fight until they've run him ragged. Will step in when there are fights or tears. Unfortunately the go to babysitter much to Laurent's chagrin.

Jord is fine with kids. Nice, good at playing with them but doesn't have the patience for a whole day of being with them.

Nicaise is a menace. He teaches kids every irresponsible thing he knows (minus the obvious terrible things). Forks are a weapon that will be wielded properly. The kids will have some weird questions for Damen and Laurent when returned.

Lazar is the best at playing with the kids, did teach them every swear word in the book though.

Vannes is TERRIBLE with children. She will not baby sit and will not find their antics endearing or cute.

Berenger doesn't know how to interact with children. He's nice but can't follow their leaps in logic. Will be great with the kids as teenagers because he treats them like adults.

Ancel is a bit better than Berenger with kids. He likes them until they get messy and break shit. He'll play dress up, but he's doing the makeup and styling.

Makedon is great at playing with the kids but the moment there are tears he's absolutely useless.
