Not enough ppl talk about the whole situation with Lala stabbing Jacks with a butter knife. a butter knife. the prince of hearts, a dangerous immortal fate who can kill with his kiss and who’s list of life goals were probably inspired by the law. And he was taken down by a kitchen utensil.

oh my god I just realized the parallel between these two scenes. The first scene, in which Luc attempts to bite Evangeline but Jacks saves her and gets bitten instead and the second scene, in which Chaos is released from his helm, he attempts to bite Evangeline (or rather rip her to shreds) and succeeds. If jacks had gotten there moments sooner than he did, he could’ve saved Evangeline, he would’ve saved Evangeline, he tried to save Evangeline. He would have sacraficed his safety, maybe dying in the process but still saving her regardless. If this happened, if Jacks saved her and died instead, would Evangeline have gone back in time to save him just as he did for her?

I really want to talk about the difference between these two scenes. The one on the left is the last Kanej scene we see, when Kaz is begging Inej to stay in Ketterdam. The one on the right is during Inej’s hallucination. On the left, you could clearly see in Kaz’s eyes how desperate, yet scared he is. How he wants more than anything to be with Inej but how he can’t, he’s not ready and he hates it. On the other hand, during Inej’s hallucination the only thing in Kaz’s eyes is desire. It doesn’t even seem like it’s Kaz in her hallucination because of his evident lack of fear and hesitation that she knows exists in the real Kaz. She realizes quickly this Kaz isn’t real. This Kaz isn’t afraid to touch her, isn’t afraid to let his hands feel things without the comfort of his gloves.
