Cremation lineup? You do your largest weight individual cremations first incase you need to start with a cold oven. Putting in a large individual in a hot oven can cause grease fires. Then your regular cremations, then your casket cremations at the end because they need to cool after.
Make sure you thank your vault guy when you see them next. They work HARD to make sure your grave side service goes beautifully
Hi! I'm also a second year Mortuary student ^_^
What got you interested in the field?
Crow Scrubs: Hi there!!! ♡ Tumblr was being silly and didnt let me type my reply! Long story short- I wanted to be a doctor, but I feel like Im too old to really do the years of schooling. Mortuary Science and Funeral Service allows me to still apply what I love about the medical field, but in a timeline that suits my needs. ♡ It's great I get to help people and still work in a lab type situation! Im working in a Bachelor's program so I may still apply to medical school later to be a Medical Examiner. ♡ Im actually minoring in Forensics and will finish my minor this Fall! :)
How about you?
Did you know Outer Burial Containers are not required by law? Many cemeteries require them because they keep the ground from sinking in preventing safety issues!
Did you know embalming is not required by law? Some funeral homes require embalming for viewing purposes but there are other alternatives available. Refrigeration and Green Burial Council approved preparations exist as alternatives and can keep a body viewing safe for up to 3 weeks! There's also Green Burial Council approved embalming fluids too!
