lesser-known "model" (is that what we're called?) here with a question. how do you emotionally deal with when accounts start popping up pretending to be you on other socials? i have my first instagram fake account where someone is stealing my posts and it's freaking me out crazy-style because insta is where all my real life friends and family are. never thought i'd get to this point.

I recommend getting the cheapest package of a copyright protection agency (I use Rulta) and send them the links to every post on the impersonation account. You can also report the account directly to instagram as “impersonating someone - self” and they may take it down.

If they don’t take action but rulta removes every post they make, I believe instagram will eventually remove their account anyway. You can also make a dummy account to figure out what payment accounts they’re using to scam people as you and report the accounts directly to PayPal/venmo/whatever and encourage your followers to do the same.

I’ve seen this happen to pretty much all my mutuals, it comes with the territory but it really sucks
