One day I asked my art teacher to draw James from Smiling Friends, and since she had never watched the show she looked him for a moment and said: "Why Is he shaped like a dick?"

I heard somewhere that critters don’t like to wear clothes, and in fact in the show we saw a lot of examples, like Glep, Alan, Mr. Landlord, etc...

But what about James? He doesn’t seem like a critter that goes out much of the house, yet we see him dressed for all the episode, even in his home. Why? Does he have a job that keeps him in touch with people and therefore requires him to be dressed, like Pim and Charlie? Did he wanted to impress Charlie? Did he have (shitty) human parents who taught him how to dress and not express his emotions? Does someone have some theories? I don’t know why I think so much about this help
