Since I will soon be adapting the Wish Upon a Star event, I was curious as to what Jackie would want to wish for?
A tantalizing story? A vintage camera? A new cap? Thicker walls so she doesn't have to listen to her housewarden's gamer rages or his private time with a certain other house warden?
“…I don’t you’re allowed to say nothing, Jackie.”
Jackie huffed, spinning the still dim Wishing Star on the tips of her nails. “How incredibly anal for an inanimate object to be. A wish for nothing should count as a wish.”
She shrugged lackadaisically, the multi-pointed star dancing in her hand. “Sorry gents but I’m really not the wishing type. And at the risk of bragging…”
“Riiiight, cause every1 knows you for your humility.”
“Everything I currently want, I already have. And anything I don't, I’d rather work hard and prove myself worthy of it. The hero's journey to victory, the rises and falls, don’t they make the end all the sweeter? Why speedrun through all the good stuff?”
“…Jackie, you do game speedruns all the time.”
“Yeah Or, AFTER I finish the game in its entirety! Iris’s don’t do things to 99%!”
“Gaming aside, that’s quite a mature outlook to have Jackie. Pretty rare to find as well.”
“A real honour student way of thinking…! You’re so impressive Iris-Senpai!”
“Oh, your Heartslabyul lads sure know to flatter a girl—“
“Enough with the flowery! Make with the wishin' Jacks! Get a million-no, a billion—NO! A million billion cans of tuna!!”
“Necronomicon! NECRONOMICON!!”
“Guys—PFFF, THAT TICKLES! And what would I ever do with that much tuna?! And demon or not, I already told you the Book of the Damned is 13 and up!”
Trey and Deuce manage to tackle away a squirming Grim and Shriek off as they shout out their demands, pulling all around into a debate of which was better.
Jackie watched on from the outside, a softer smile tugging on her lips, eyes alight as she turns over the Wishing Star gentler than before, giving it an almost reverent caress. She leaned in, whispering her heart's desire and watching it alight in acknowledgement.
“I wish to have a satisfying ending to this story.”
