I diagnosed myself with MS at 18 and the Dr said it was just anxiety from exams and refused to run any tests even though half my body had gone numb. I was right though. I'm still staggered that most physicians don't even try to rule out dangerous possibilities for peace of mind? They play this weird probability game when people come to them and they go "well actually it's very unlikely you're sick at all, let's just assume you're not."

Monaleo recently and literally almost died because of this bc doctors were not taking her pain seriously. ending in her getting a partial hysterectomy when it could’ve been avoided altogether if they had just taken a Black woman’s health seriously.

it’s lucky that she already has a child bc imagine if she listened to everyone who shamed her for getting pregnant earlier in her career and then this happened?
