The fact that Twitter allows porn but not public death threats and tumblr allows public death threats but not porn is objectively funny and the fact that a large portion of us chose the latter over the former is objectively funnier
cis people talking to trans people are literally like ‘omg i’m so sorry i really don’t want to offend you please don’t get offended i’m so sorry if i say something offensive i really didn’t mean to offend you i’m just uneducated and don’t know anything about trans people so please please don’t get offended i’m so so sorry. anyways do you have a dick’
all the new fuckers: don’t censor words in ur post with numbers, @ and punctuation signs, different letters, shit like that. not just cuz it’s absolutely fine to say weird shit and things that other places generally censor on tumblr, but also cuz there are people with screen readers, and when u unnecessarily censor things like that, it really fucks with screen readers and makes it very difficult to read.
this isn’t just a “you don’t have to” thing, it’s a “you shouldn’t”.
also it makes the blacklist function useless
pretend the word "bananas" is a common trigger and i don't want to see posts with that word, so i add it to my blacklist. if you make posts spelling it "b4n@n4$", my blacklist won't block it and i will see your triggering post.
"but how do you know that twitter is migrating here?"
for those unaware, you can easily not worry about spoilers and content warnings (especially if you dont do tagging) by adding a read more/keep reading which lets people click to see the rest of the post. the icon for adding read more looks like three dots on the browser version in a rectangle (or if u use the new beta post editor, it looks like a squiggly line with a straight line above and below it)
if you use mobile that’s another story. what you can do on mobile is : readmore : on a new line but without the spaces between the word and the colons. heres some example screenshots
then you press return and it makes a read-more. any text underneath it will be cut off unless someone clicks on it
see how it doesn’t show up? tumblr doesn’t work like twitter and it may be difficult to adjust, but there’s some helpful features here that go overlooked. now that you have the tools, use them
When boys stretch and their clothing rides up n u can see their tummy and you
Arcade dates !! You buy a full day pass so you and your partners can spend the whole day walking around and playing games !! Maybe you'll just play games, maybe you find some way to win a prize or two, maybe you'll get buckets of tickets to take up to the counter after. Whatever the case, you get to spend the day side by side with your partners, smiling and laughing and having fun with them.
pants that r just a lil too loose that show off the top of their boxers >>>>>>>
im a boyliker, a boy kisser, if you may.
ijust thinks that fat guy boobs should be as universally loved as buff guy boobs
" why use transandrophobia when u can just call it transphobia + misogyny "
1) not misgendering ourselves constantly to appease assholes who do, quite literally, hate trans men for being *men* instead of trying to stay cis women.
2) all trans people face misogyny. that's just how the power structure works.
3) not having a term to specifically discuss transmasc-focused bigotry makes it very difficult to meaningfully identify + oppose our oppression.
4) we're men. it will not kill you to acknowledge that we're men and we're trans and those two things are intrinsically linked when we're talking about our oppression.
5) trans men don't benefit from patriarchy. We're being affected by misogyny literally from birth if not earlier, and the power structure really does not like it when a person from an "inferior" group tries to join the "superior" group. See: racism from literally any time period, ever.
6) jfc I am so tired of explaining this
7) y'all want to act like the patriarchy doesn't gender police men. and that there isn't violent consequences for failure. Maybe you should think about that, actually, and how that puts enormous danger onto trans guys who cannot / will not pass perfectly as "acceptable" men.
8) if existing language doesn't accurately express a concept or a need, there will be new language created for it. do you think terms like transphobia spontaneously formed from the void? do you honestly believe that trans men haven't been trying to discuss our issues under the lense of "transphobia + misogyny" and found it incomplete?
9) once again: we're transmasc. that's the whole point. if you're trying to twist useful terms for transmasculine people and force us back into using female-oriented language so you don't have to unpack your discomfort with us that's overwhelmingly a personal problem.
10) if you're a transmasc and don't find discussions about transandrophobia useful/relatable/etc that's fine. please leave us alone.
11) I'm so tired. there are so many Transphobe trying to simultaneously lever transmasc invisibility (to argue that we can't exist( and growing transmasc awareness (to argue that we're a danger to society / to ourselves / to cis women) and so many self-proclaimed allies want to crush us back down into the female gender box to "fix" us.
12) too many of y'all act like its more ethical to be a miserable, desperate woman than to be a man. y'all act like it's a personal failure to be a happy trans man. to love ourselves. to treat ourselves as whole and powerful and knowledgeable about our own lives. to fight for a seat at the table. to speak about our bodies and our needs. to push for more awareness so nobody else has to grow up wishing that they knew what was wrong with them, so that adults and seniors and the elderly can finally find the answer to why they've felt trapped and alone in a body that should be right for a "woman".
13) have y'all seen the way people treat Elliot Page
I love gay transmascs
We need to discuss how trans men and trans masc never get no slack for how they look.
If you're too feminine, you're not really a man.
If you're too masculine, you're never actually masculine enough. You're never really a man, stop trying.
If your style is too plain, you're told you're boring.
If your style is flamboyant, you're mocked as gaudy and ugly.
If you dye your hair, you look like a stereotype and need to stop.
If you cut your hair masculine, you're made fun of.
If you get a feminine haircut, see "if you're too feminine."
If you go for a weird haircut or wear things like cosplay wigs, you're also "enforcing a stereotype" and apparently "the reason we get mocked."
Masculine trans people literally can't do anything. I remember getting asked what sort of facial hair I'd want after going on T, and I said a goatee. I got bullied until I said a beard could be fine, and then got told a beard would be ugly on me. In the end it was "maybe just shave" as though they had a right to it.
Everyone has tried to push me toward not wanting facial hair, usually with baiting me with a positive seeming question about when I have a shot at growing some.
I can't wear anything either. I have a very extravagant style, and I got invited to go shopping with someone else. Every choice was mocked, and I (and the other trans man present) got things like "you know you can buy things you like, right?" As though we were just picking this stuff for shits and giggles, I guess?
The whole Elliot Wore A Plain Suit thing! Trans men and other masculine trans people get their clothing choice scrutinized. We're put under a microscope for every flaw, perceived or otherwise. It's almost as though the only way to escape the ridicule is to closet ourselves? Eh? Ehhhhhh? Seeing the transphobia yet?
It's always from supposed trans allies too, like. When you guys stop drinking TERF Kool-Aid and give a shit about any marginalized men (but for the sake of the post, trans men and trans masc) gimmie a fucking call.
Loving men is fun and good actually. Men can be soft and wonderful and caring and kind. My boyfriend has actually improved my life and I don’t get why I would feel bad for that. If I see any fellow bisexuals pull the whole “too bad I have my (yuck) boyfriend when I could have a good woman :((“ bs one more time I will scream.
Men are hot, they’re handsome, they’re pretty, they’re wonderful. They’re spectacular, they’re soft, they’re caring, they’re silly, their laughs are like music. Men give some of the warmest hugs, and the best snuggles. This goes for ALL men - yes, even the “fat” man you saw, even the punk guy with the tattoos and piercings, and men of color. Men are WONDERFUL. Men aren’t inherently violent, dangerous, angry animals. Can we please stop vilifying men and men who love men please?
I want a boy to hold at night, in the morning, during the day. To tightly hold onto him, and let the world melt away.
I crave love in the most innocent of ways, I crave to say goodnight, and give forehead kisses and overly tight hugs. I want to lay beside you, and be wrapped around you. As nothing more and nothing less.
There is something I truly love about being gay. I love loving men. I love the idea of waking my in my boyfriends arms. I love the idea of going on dates and holding hands with a man AS another man. I think its beautiful and spectacular and amazing.
