Proship has never meant anything except a combination of three ideas:

Ship and let ship (your ships don't harm me and vice-versa) and YKINMK (your kink is not my kink, and that's okay; my kink stories don't harm you and vice-versa)

Harassment over fiction is not acceptable

Censorship of fiction is not acceptable either

Any other definitions are made by antis, not proshippers, and are an attempt at revisionism to justify harassment based on false claims.

Yeah. Antis like to claim that the "pro" means "problematic", but nope. "Pro" (for) is simply the opposite of "anti" (against), and all that "proship" really means is "Let everyone ship what they want, everyone mind their own business".

Some other key things worth noting:

- Regardless of what conservatives in fandom want you to think, this is the original definition.

- Because of this, "proship dni" will get you blocked by 99% of people over the age of 20 (if they notice you). This will not change.

- Yes, there's nuance in this debate. The original 3 points by OP still stands.

- This is, in fact, not "petty fandom drama". It's not even about shipping. The anti mindset is simply how conservatism and purity culture exists in online fandom spaces.

- You can't "both sides" this. Just like there can questionable people in progressive spaces, there can certainly be questionable people who call themselves proship. Doesn't change what the terms stand for.

- It's actually very detrimental to label these things proship/antiship, because it insinuates these are fandom-specific phenomena. Racism in fandom is still racism. Misogyny in fandom is still misogyny. (Not that I don't understand the desire for a single term to encompass several facets)

- I'm serious. People have died, and kids have been preyed upon thanks to this anti problem. You don't have to talk about it, but don't crack jokes.
