I have written about persuasive writing in an article where I discuss Ethos, Logos, Pathos. Persuasive writers use words to convince the reader to listen or to act.
I found this useful list of words in an interesting article called Common words that suck emotional power out of your content by John Gregory Olson. He explains how words have emotions attached to them, and that you should choose the correct ones for the response you want to elicit from your reader.
Use these words if you want to get an emotional, rather than an intellectual, response from your readers.
Emotional vs Intellectual Words
this is your reminder to SAVE your work
and KEEP WRITING
Hello, all! We hope you had a wonderful summer!
We just want to remind you that we are always here to talk and to encourage you.
We are so looking forward to the beautiful fics you guys are going write this season!
Just remember that you are fantastic. Whether you get five notes or a million. I know that can be hard to remember, but it’s the truth.
You are valid.
You are an author.
And we love you.

I made these as a way to compile all the geographical vocabulary that I thought was useful and interesting for writers. Some descriptors share categories, and some are simplified, but for the most part everything is in its proper place. Not all the words are as useable as others, and some might take tricky wording to pull off, but I hope these prove useful to all you writers out there!

oh this is REALLY nice
Just start writing. I think we get so scared to write sometimes that we never do. But it’s all a process of trying and failing and trying again. And to not be scared to share your story. Whether that’s at an open mic or with friends you really trust. Just get out there and tell your truth because no one else can. And nobody else will.
Danez Smith’s advice to young poets, as told to Katherine Brooks for the Huffington Post
I really hope that you guys know how awesome you are.
You are.
I know it can be so hard to feel like you belong in this fandom. Or that your writing matters at all to anyone.
But I’m telling you that it does!
I also hope you know that I am always here to listen.
“I feel like I want to give up.”
“Sometimes I just feel invisible.”
“I wish I could just delete everything I’ve ever written.”
These are all things I have said and felt.
Many of my other writer friends have as well.
I’m not telling you this for sympathy:
I’m telling you to remind you that others feel this way too.
Everyone wants to give up sometimes.
Everyone struggles sometimes.
Because writing is personal, it is your soul on a page.
Naturally, we want people to love it.
And we are discouraged if they don’t.
It’s okay to want that validation, my loves.
It’s okay.
I guess what I’m trying to say is,
you are a damn talented writer.
I don’t care if you make mistakes,
or if you get told your stuff is trash.
You are a damn talented writer.
So, don’t let those voices overwhelm you-
you are not alone.
“Real writers write every day.”
If I make it through traffic, and the office, and dinner, and I get the kids to bed, and I collapse into dreaming without having written one word all day, I’m still a writer.
I’m still a writer when I’m building spreadsheets for my boss. I’m still a writer when babies are spitting up on me. I’m still a writer when I’m walking the dog. I’m still a writer no matter what.
You see, a writer is not what I do. It’s who I am.
Friends don't let friends use "very." #DontUseVery
A writer is a writer not because she writes well and easily, because she has amazing talent, or because everything she does is golden. A writer is a writer because, even when there is no hope, even when nothing you do shows any sign of promise, you keep writing anyway.

How to Write More
In fanfiction there is a difference between being a good writer and a popular writer.
Just because you can write a well-structured story with dynamic and consistent writing and characters doesn’t mean you will be popular. And sometimes stories that have disorganized plots, mediocre writing, and/or OOC characters will be held up as the greatest things to ever exist.
Just because your writing isn’t popular doesn’t mean you are a bad writer. Don’t ever compromise who you are, who your characters are, your plot, your writing style, anything for the sake of readership.
There are popular writers everywhere. But there are only so many good writers.

Hi Writer’s Support, I wondered if you could rally me some support - I’ve been bitten by a huge fluffy angry plot bunny, and the outline has turned into a Swan Lake/Tangled fusion Captain Swan fanfic, but I really need some folk to bounce the idea around with to hone some elements.
I am sure we have all experienced the excitement of a fun new idea AND the frustration of getting lost in the weeds when we try to turn that idea into a plot! If this strikes your interest send them a message or reblog to signal boost to your followers.
*Remember we are here for you guys! If you have writing woes, looking for help or just needing encouragement send us an ask. We prefer anon but we are also glad to do a private conversation!*
It can be easy to lose hope,
it can be easy to feel like you aren’t worthy.
Like you are a pretender.
But you aren’t.
You sweat and you toil looking for just the right words.
You have a style that is yours and yours alone.
So, no matter how many notes you get,
or how many followers you acquire.
You can be proud.
No else can replace you.
Okay. What do you need?
Do you need me to read your thing and give you a few pointers on how to make your writing tighter? I can do that.
Do you need me to get on a rooftop and sing your praises? I can do that.
Do you need me to tell you that you’ve got promise and not to give up? I can do that.
Do you need me to tell you to sit your butt in the chair and bang at that keyboard until something intelligible comes out? I can do that.
Do you need me to say that we all need a break every now and then and it’s okay if you don’t write for a couple of days or weeks or months or whatever? I can do that.
Do you need me to talk about how brave you are to put your stuff out there in the first place, despite your insecurities and the fact that no one seems to be reading it? Because you are. All of y’all are.
A story is like a song. It’s your heart and soul out there for everyone to see. I know that. And the fact that you’re willing to expose that to all the censure that might come and all the idiots out there that can only see the negative…Well, that tells me that you have what it takes.
If you love writing, if you want to be a writer, if it gives you joy…don’t settle. Push yourself. Find books. Takes classes. Better writing can be learned. And maybe some of it never gets read, maybe some of it is for your eyes only. Write it anyways. Because I promise you this, if you stick with it, one day you are going to look back and you are going to see how far you’ve come. One day you are going to look back and think: I can do this. I am doing this.
It took me a long time to get to the point that I could call myself a writer without feeling like a fraud, but I got there. And you can get there too.
Cause if you write, you’re a writer.
