So things didn’t go horribly wrong (well, they did, but not in the way I meant) but they have been complicated and I’ve had like a bunch of other things I want to do lately so it’s been harder than I thought trying to get back into Minecraft and I haven’t really been on Tumblr a lot either. I will hopefully be back soon though, but I make no guarantees.
Hey so if this garbage fire goes out sooner than expected, I just set up on mastodon.cloud: @[email protected]
If nothing else, I’ll post where else to find me there if anyone wants to keep in touch once I figure that out.
As long as this website still functions I plan on coming back to this blog when I get back to minecraft or have more tangentially related content for it, but you know worst case scenario if any of you want to know where I’m going to rebuild at that will be where to find out.

Made (a somewhat more detailed version of) my Minecraft player head in MagicaVoxel. My blog for all that stuff is over @cuddle-trollop-mc. I’m gonna do the rest another time but I did just wanna make this ‘cause it can double as just like an object I can use for other things if I want.
I apologize to everyone that this blog has been dead lately. I’ve been busy learning voxel and 3d modeling, and on top of that we’ve recently had some glitches on the laptop I use for that and to play Minecraft that make me hesitant to get back into Minecraft in case the game exacerbates the problem?
Anyway, I may be going on hiatus for a bit. I might crosspost some things over to here that are tangentially related to minecraft, I kinda want to make both a voxel model and one in Blender of my own minecraft skin for example.
Aside from that I’m pretty sure that unless something goes horribly wrong, the latest I’ll be back by is when 1.14 comes out.
Update: Okay, the actual update is pretty much just this. I’ve removed the platform and I’m building the tree up. I would’ve had more to update on, except when I got done with what I’m about to add in below this, the laptop decided to give me trouble every time I tried actually getting on minecraft.
But now on to the fun stuff. Halloween!
I’m working on some slight decorations for halloween. Probably won’t be more than jack o’lanterns and these scarecrows with some leather armor and carved pumpkins, but we’ll see.
I’ve also updated my skin with a halloween version.Black dress, gray/black case with orange buttons, orange bow, cracked screen, bent and broken antennae (not visible), and some orange and black striped stockings.
Also it’s kind of hard to tell but my neck stump is dark red now.
Update: Kind of a small update despite the amount of work I’ve actually done.
This is (part of) something I want to work on in my survival world, ultimately, though I may opt for more white concrete or other materials rather than building the whole thing out of quartz. This is why I’m going to need a nether portal.
BUT, this is a project that’s probably going to go for a while even once I’ve gotten started on it, I’m not about to jump right into it now and try to finish it immediately by any means, and this building I’ve started here is only part of what I have planned as part of this project, albeit a large part.
It’s not that I’m especially interested in Roman architecture or anything, but knowing that the quartz pillars exist I’ve kind of been itching to do something big with them, and I figure this is the way to go.
Update: I had a bit of an epiphany as I was trying to work out where to put the stairwell up to the second floor. I’ve decided I’m going to build a spiral staircase up through the center to another living area up at the top. I’m going to encase the stairwell in logs, probably remove that second platform there, and build it up into a large tree with sheared leaves all over around the top section. So, a tree house with a different house around its base.
While I’m here, I wanna mention a small detail I keep leaving out, which is world type. I’ll put it under a read more though so this doesn’t get super long for no good reason.
Exploration can be a pretty time consuming process no matter what world type you use, but in case anyone is confused why it seems to be such a big deal for me to trek out and find new biomes I want to clarify. I’m using Large Biomes. I always use Large Biomes.
I started doing this a while ago, because I don’t know if this is still the case but when I started, I had a serious problem where I would generate a world, find a biome I liked, and then find out that the biome was miniscule and surrounded by a bunch of other biomes I wasn’t a huge fan of at the time, and like it was weird to me that some of these would be clustered together like that. Large Biomes let me kind of spread out in a biome without immediately running into another one.
The downside to this now though is that there are a whole bunch of different biomes I want/need access to but the one my base is in is pretty big, and then the ones around it are pretty big, and the ones around those are pretty big, so I (and anyone else who plays on this world type obviously) have to go quite a way out of the way to find, for instance, an ocean.
I’m not complaining, I really like the way this world has generated overall and I’m doing pretty well in it, but this is why I find myself really needing transportation such as a horse, and why I really want to get a rail system built so I can actually reliably get to places without a ton of effort.
On another note, I do have an idea for something I want to build in the future but it will require a nether portal, which is something I haven’t built yet. There’s a convenient lava pool near my base, so I might just bucket it rather than waiting til I find diamonds. We’ll see. The actual thing that I want to build though I will test out in my build world and post screenshots of tomorrow!
Update: Minecraft base progress. I put up the acacia and I liked it so much just from what little I had put up that I decided to keep going with it. It goes well with the gray blocks I’d already been using, which I suspect is cause the bark on it is gray as well, so I don’t know if anyone else would agree but I like it and I think I’m gonna keep it.
There are some odd dirt blocks stuck on the walls because I’m waiting for the grass to spread so I can do flower boxes, though I think I’m going to remove the ones on either side of the front door because looking at this now, I don’t think that’s going to look so good with the railing right there.and I already have those raised sections I’m going to turn into gardens anyway.
You can’t really tell from this but I need to go do another session collecting spruce so I can actually finish the literal second floor, though I’m still not 100% on how I’m going to arrange and decorate the first floor, I may just leave it as sort of an open room instead of sectioning it off though, but once I’ve decided on that I’ll make a stairway up to the next floor and build up the upper walls etc.
Update: Not too many screenshots today. I tamed a horse, I don’t know much about horses in this game but this one seems pretty well rounded as far as speed and jump goes. Haven’t thought of a name for this one yet, though I don’t have a nametag so it would be more hypothetical anyway.
Since I now have a horse I decided to go explore again, came across a desert which made me go looking for a temple. Instead I found 3 more villages, 2 desert and 1 savanna (and a bunch of desert wells,) a couple of the villages had blacksmiths so I got a few more bits of armor and iron. I grabbed the coordinates for those, but any time I got off my horse it started steadily wandering off in the same direction (I think back towards base?) so I didn’t grab more uploadable screenshots in favor of keeping track of the horse and keeping moving to try and find other things.
While I was in the savanna I grabbed some acacia logs and some saplings, and I’m toying with the idea of making the walls of my base out of acacia. Tomorrow I’ll toss some of those up on the walls and see how it looks with everything else.
Edit: Oh! I forgot the most important part. I needed acacia for the trapdoors I want to use for like guard rails for things anyway, so that works out great!
Update: I’ve started more serious work on my base. I have the main floors in place, as well as the front and back entrances. Right now the bed and everything in the main room is just there to use, I’ll move them once I build up the rest of the base.
Off the side is what will be a railway station, which lines up with a bridge across the river, with a branch that will go off to a second bridge in the direction of the village and dungeon.. I’m not going to make either of these level with the one at my base on the y axis, I’m just going to go over land and bridge or tunnel where I really need to.
For my vertical farm, on top of going upward I’m going to build one or two more towers for other crops. My cow farm is working fine, and now I’m farming melons and pumpkins.
Now I chose this location as I mentioned because it’s a less than stellar looking little spot surrounded by some pretty great scenery, but I just learned something great about this spot. While I was trying to figure out where the very close sounding zombies and endermen I was hearing were at precisely I found a cave entrance just 2 layers below the surface.
Once I cleared out the immediate entrance I covered it up and marked it with some rose bushes.
My enderfriend has disappeared since I found this, but if I go deeper into the cave it’s actually connected to a larger cave system, I think the same one I started exploring from a different entrance.
And on top of this it turns out I actually built my base just over...
A ravine! I haven’t gone and explored this all yet, but having this all accessible literally like a few blocks from my front door makes things a lot easier.
Now, I apologize if anyone who’s actually following me is waiting for some more from my creative world. I will get back to it soon, I just really want to get the lead out on this new survival world since I don’t know when I’m going to have access to my previous one again, and I’m still at a point in this one where it’s just going to take me a lot of work to be able to do anything really interesting. I’d rather get past that sooner than later.
Update: More on my new survival world. First, just some more scenery. The last set I think is near my base, the first is a little way away but I thought it was more interesting and looked nicer so it goes on top.
I found that on my way out to explore a bit, and my exploration has gone pretty well.
We have pumpkin.
Horses (plenty of them, I found quite a few more but these are closest to the base.)
And a village!
Along the way I mined up a little over a stack of iron and this village had a blacksmith where I got a helmet and a saddle, which is great obviously since I’m near some horses.
But most importantly honestly in the long run, I found a dungeon near this village.
This is actually the first dungeon I’ve found in survival in a LONG time. I hadn’t found any in my previous world, I actually think the last time I found a dungeon was even before the full release maybe? I don’t remember exactly, I was playing with friends I haven’t spoken to in ages.
I do intend to turn this one into a farm in the future, the only downside is that it’s so far away from my base, but especially since there’s a village nearby I’m going to build a rail to here in the future anyway.
From those chests I got some horse armor, coal, redstone, melon seeds, gold bars, two of the same record, and some gunpowder (on top of what I’ve gotten from creepers.)
Between everything I’ve mentioned above and all the flowers I’ve picked up along the way (I need them, the only ones near my base are the poppies,) my inventory is out of space, my goal was to find a village and I’ve done far more than that, so I’m going to go back to base and then go to bed in real life.
I’m honestly so used to the point I was at in my last world. Almost without trying, before I realized it I somehow got to a point where I could be reasonably sure that if I decided to go exploring or caving I could kill just about any mobs I came across and come out alive. I wasn’t like end-game level but I was doing pretty solid, I had enchanted armor and weapons, a decent amount of iron, a nearly complete library for the enchanting table.
Now in this new world I keep trying to approach things that way and it’s just not the case lol. I have to be more cautious.
And as much as I love the landscape around the area I’ve picked, it’s almost kind of stifling. I need to build, I need to gather resources, but I don’t want to ruin anything around me.
Update: Until I get my original survival world sorted out, I’ve decided to start a new one. Here are some screenshots from it, in no particular order of just some of the bits of landscape around where my base is that I found interesting, as well as the farms I’m working on.
I have a tower farm I’m building up, I’ll decorate that more once I actually get things planted in it, right now the first level is less than half covered with wheat. There’s a sugar cane farm that I’ve already prepared for automation once I get more resources so that I can actually do the pistons and everything. And there’s a cow farm that I’ve built up from just two cows which has been slow going since my wheat farm isn’t exactly producing a ton of wheat yet, but I took what I learned in the previous world and did it better.
I’ve done just a little bit of terraforming mostly around the farms in this area, which I chose because it was mostly flat and didn’t look especially good compared to what’s around it so I didn’t mind removing bits of it, What I’m not showing right now is my actual house, which I’m not showing because it’s currently just a glorified piece of wood with a bed on it.
I need a bit more material that’s taking me a little longer than it should to build up before I can do the rest, but once I do actually have at least some less embarrassing progress done on it I will post screenshots of that.
I was going to make an update last night, but something has gone wrong. I was in my survival world and I was going along to find an ocean in a direction I hadn’t explored as thoroughly as I thought I had, and I was taking pictures of the mountain biome I was passing through along the way. I threw down a bed to sleep through the night and while that was happening the laptop shut off.
That’s not a big deal, it’s frustrating but it happens all the time. However this time, when I went to get back on to my survival world, it crashed again. I kept trying and looked up the info it gave me when it crashed and from what I can gather I’m now stuck in or near a corrupted chunk. So, I’m not going to be on that survival world until I can fix that.
I still have the screenshots, but I don’t think I’ll upload them until I have that world fixed and can continue what I set out for last time.
