New Year Same Me

A bit of raw truth here. 

I struggle with mental illness (seems the norm on this website). This directly impacts my ability to work on plushies, and anything really, as my motivation vanishes more and more each day. I want to make more plushies for customers, but it takes me forever to do it. It is a gargantuan effort to work up to create. I’m sorry for letting people down.

I have a “real job” that takes more energy than I have to give. I can’t commit to taking more than one order at a time. And even then I have horrible production times. 

I guess what I’m saying, is thank you to everyone who has put up with my slow production process. Thank you to everyone who has sent me positive messages that they are happy with what I’ve produced for them. It helps a lot. And it means everything to me to know what I’m meeting a customer’s expectation.

Crochet Skeleton Artist Caitlin McCormack

I just stumbled upon Caitlin’s work.  It’s confronting, and intriguing, creepy, and amazing all at once! Caitlin says the following about her work:

The act of stiffening intricately crocheted cotton string with glue produces material that is structurally similar to delicate bone tissue. The string implemented in this process can be viewed as the basic cellular unit of fabrication, and by utilizing media and practices inherited from my deceased relatives, I aim to generate emblems of my diminishing bloodline, embodied by each organism’s skeletal remains.

Alakazam is known as the psi pokemon and uses terrific psychic type moves! He is a very large plush, at approximately 55cm from the top of his head to his toes. The spoons clutched in its hands are said to have been created by its psychic powers. His hands can be opened and the spoons are independent of the plushie and can be removed.
