Elisabeth, Empress of Austria and Queen of Hungary, popularly known as Sisi, photographed in March 1865 when she went to Munich to fetch her cousin, Ludwig II, King of Bavaria, from the train station.
Ludwig II took her to the studio of his favourite court photographer, Josef Albert, where he photographed The Empress in different settings, including in the courtyard and in a window. The session includes a rare photograph of Sisi smiling.
In love with this photo. Her smile, her shy, naughty gaze...❤️
Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel she was feeling relaxed and more comfortable in this photo session, comparing with others. Maybe she felt more free without the obligation to pose.
