The Ruins of Isengard by Michael Herring
gay people can never say 'I love you' it's always gotta be some shit like "you are a wood-elf, anyway, though elves of any kind are strange folk. yet you comfort me. where you go, I will go," and "but you comfort me, gimli. i'm glad to have you standing nigh with your stout legs and your hard axe."
I was like 12 when I memorised Galadriel's entire prologue. That's how much I adore LOTR LOL....
I also remember trying to read The Two Towers in Portuguese and telling my sister it was such a bore and too hard đ« then I tried in English, and it was even worse đ€Ą
Also. Haldir was the best Elf. Do not argue with me on this âïž

Can we all admire the cape/top Legolas is sporting? Opening in the back for his bow and arrows? the sheen of the fabrics... I just want to caress it and see if it is as smooth as it looks... (well caressing Legolas might be of some interest as well... XD)

Aragorn and Arwen in Vietnamese traditional clothings
Bilbo Baggins: *having snuck his way into the Dwarven afterlife, where no non-dwarf has ever managed to or dared venture before* Ah, yes, hello. Lord Mahal, I presume. All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.
I love drawing young Aragorn strolling around in Rivendell

Olorin has only known these funky little stoners for like 15 minutes-
"Daigor, Mami sent me with your lunch." It was drawled, the utmost reluctance in her voice, as though Pandora would have rather done anything other than take her oldest brother his lunch on his first day in his new clinic, set up with his old classmate.
"Put it on the reception!" Dr Edward Chan called from his office. The clinic was empty, unsurprisingly for a first day. Pandora set the tiffin carrier and wrapped handkerchief of chopsticks and spoon on the worn wooden desk that functioned as reception, and smoothed down her fashionable blush pink dress before perching carefully on the edge of it.
(for 1950s AU, because why not see if we can break Word)

âIâll get it for you, Edward.â
Knowing the receptionist was out on her break, Beleg came out into the main room to take the lunch and put it in the fridge in the back room. For the first day, he had dressed to make a good impression on their new patients. A charcoal grey suited, brand new and perfectly tailored for ease of movement and comfort - a slightly bigger concern for doctors than office workers.
âOh, hello.â He stared at the young woman at the desk for a moment, confused. Was she a patient - oh, she must be Edwardâs sister. What had he said her name was again?
He held out his hand.
âDr. CĂșthalion.â
Beleg blushed in return, knowing exactly what Edwardâs look meant. He should bring something for Pan tomorrow - but what? He wasnât much of a cook, maybe he could bring some flowers or something. Youâre assuming she even comes back. Maybe sheâll change her mind.
âYou made this all yourself?â
Pandora, busily setting up the bowls, spoons, fork, and chopsticks so she could begin serving the rice, nodded distractedly. Lettuce and spring onions, chopped fine and fried with rice, then with a few of their hensâ eggs beaten with a little salt and mixed in. It wasnât the soy sauce her mother might have wanted, but it worked, and all of the food wasnât rationed either.
âI could make this by ten,â she said, scooping out the rice. âAs soon as I could reach the stove, really. Try it.â
She set one still-warm bowl in front of Beleg, then her brother, Mei Mun, and herself. Mei Mun, noting the sudden deference to proper Chinese manners and serving food, valiantly struggled to keep her face straight.
Beleg waited a moment for the others to take their bowls, not wanting to look impatient, but it smelt good, and office work was hungry work. He took a spoonful.
âItâs very good.â He wished he had something wittier to say, to impress her. What had gotten into him? He was never usually this caught off-guard by a pretty faceâŠ
"Thank you." Pandora tried to fight down the rising blush. Her siblings tried not to gag.
Unable to stand it, Edward asked Mei Mun, "How's the organising?"
Pandora perked up, latching on instantly to any topic of conversation to distract her from her - infatuation.
"I think I have a system for the files," Mei Mun said, "but we'll see how it works with more patients."
A lover out of this world (I know we have 30000 AUs but imagine Pan left on an alter for Beleg as an offering for idk, fertility and prosperity, scared but knowing her duty and trying to be brave, or Pan who was a priestess to the god of nature's bounty, alone in the temple at night when oh, who's that inspecting the alter?)
Beleg paid little attention to his temple; it always seemed over run with priests and priestesses (who were all, frankly, a little dull) and too much incense. Besides, he figured he was supposed to maintain a mysterious presence.
But this evening he was bored, so he wandered through the main part of the temple, when it should have been empty, leaning over an altar to look at the decorations, his back to the hall.

He pulled her close in one swift movement, demonstrating the strength of his arms, and held her against him. For a moment, he gazed into her eyes, enraptured, and then he kissed her, a kiss full of passion and desire.
Pan moaned into the kiss, surprised by the heat and want in the kiss. Pressed together from belly to knee, only a few thin layers of clothes between them, the godly strength, the beauty of his form was clear. She felt possessed, held close and hoarded by her god.
Her arms wrapped tentatively around him, unsure of what to do. Sheâd kissed someone, once - a childhood friend, before Pan had left for the temple and the friend, shortly after, for marriage - but that had been a shy, blushing peck on the lips, nothing at all like this.
He lay her back in the grass, and tugged at the laces of her dress, eager to have her revealed to him; he was not always a patient creature, certainly not when he had a beautiful woman in his arms.
âTouch me, dear priestess. Do not be shy.â
Pan's dress was a simple affair, soon gone under the hands of her god to leave her in only her shift. But she hadn't the faintest clue where to put her hands on him; she'd never gotten this far before entering the temple, and was utterly inexperienced.
Shy, tentative, she slid one slim hand up the length of his back, exploring the strength of muscle and the strange feel of a man's body under her hands. Slowly, her hand drifted around to his front, catching on a nipple through his shirt before trailing over his ribs, feeling the planes of muscle. Her other hand made its way into his hair, slipping through the strands of silk.
âAll the better for seeing my children,â Mrs Chan promised, not missing how her son-in-law seemed to care for her daughter. Good. They could only hope it would continue, at least until Pandora bore sons and ideally until one or both were in their graves. âAnd you? How are you and my daughter faring, all alone in your townhouse? I hope it is not too lonely.â
The Chans and CĂșthalions had brokered a match for practicalities, but that didnât make them heartless. A sturdy socio-financial base was simply a good foundation for a happy marriage.
And similarly, neither had Pandora missed Idhrielâs knowing look, and her face warmed slightly in a way that had nothing to do with the warmer inside of the house. Well, that certainly answered that question. Aunties. âHave you been well, Mother?â
She sat in the chair Beleg offered to her, giving him a little, appreciative smile at the gesture.
âIt is not so lonely when we have each other,â Beleg said, and then blushed at how sappy he sounded. âAnd we have so many visitors.â His friends, their wives and sisters and various relations, often calling in on Pandora even when he was not home. He hoped they would become her friends too.
Idhrielâs smile was warm.
âOh, I am quite well dear, thank you. The house is hardly much quieter now Beleg is gone. Josie has been enjoying being the eldest, though. But I think the little ones miss him.â
"I remember how it was when my Wo- Mr Chan and I first married," Mrs Chan agreed. "We spent so much time just getting to know each other."
"Oh, Beleg, we should visit your family more," Pandora cooed. "The poor little girls."
Visit your family, she said, as if he was a daughter married out. But living separately as they were, it occurred to Pandora that they would have to visit, like that, to maintain those relationships.
Private was the thought that spending time with the little girls would be good practise for her own children; the girls' playmates, hopefully.
Nathaniel Chan came in then, followed shortly by Mr Chan. Both Pandora and Mrs Chan rose to their feet automatically, as was polite.
