"That's a tad far fetched for someone I have met once." I wouldn't be good enough for her anyway.

Do you think Bella is the one?
"That's a tad far fetched for someone I have met once." I wouldn't be good enough for her anyway.
Bella could feel a blush rushing over her cheeks at the correction of his name, nodding slightly she glanced down with a small grin. "Sorry bout that, Edward right. That sounds far better then Edwin does," she chuckled gently. "So what are you doing out this late, there is a curfew going on right now," pausing she glanced back up at him with a small frown, "isn't your family wondering where you are?"
He had to admit, the blush that framed her cheeks was honouring to the other. He had not expected to get to her the way he had, it was evident he made her slightly nervous, noticing the race of her heart at the mistake. He didn't wish to make her nervous, but it was obvious that he was intrigued by her, and the humanity she displayed. It was refreshing, as his life was often consumed by the supernatural, and yet she is so .. pure. "It's quite alright, I have been called worse." He reassured with a smile. "I was returning from work , at least , that is what I told my dad." He chuckled, in reference to Carlisle, not wishing to display any differences to the 'stereotypical' family life. "My family are probably tucked up in bed , nonethewiser."
alice could not hide the fact she enjoyed pestering edward from time to time. still she would most definitely help him out whenever he was in his melancholic moods. from time to time she feared he would be the one flip his switch. seeing him in such high spirits makes her feel more at ease. " i would never ... only when you deserve it. " alice would match his chuckle with a cheeky wink. " he is out and about. even i suffocate him a tad bit from time to time. perhaps it has something to do with the kitten i brough home. "
Their bond was uncanny, not even the most difficult of times separated their family. It was a bond like no other. He knew the pestering was in good faith. "I suppose so, you aren't wrong there." He admitted with a chuckle. "A kitten?" Edward could not prevent himself from rolling his eyes. "Was this the final straw for him?" He joked in a teasing tone.
the blonde allowed a small smile to his lips, an expression of gratitude over his brother's offer, touched by his understanding and concern. he nodded appreciatively, relieved at the thought of escaping the constant temptation that surrounded them in the town.
He knew Jasper was one of few words, and in truth, he did not blame him. He had internal suffering of which many would not comprehend, and silence was often good in a town where saying too much got you into trouble. Edward led the way, opening the door to a quiet bar, the only sounds of the low pitched stereo in the corner, and barrels being changed below. He ordered them both a beer, before turning to sit beside him in the booth. "So , tell me what I have missed."
She could feel her brows frown slightly before she nodded slowly. Always be cautious, she could hear Charlie's voice in the back of her mind as she stood in front of him. "Yeah, Bella. That's me," with a half smile she shrugged her shoulders and glanced down at her feet. "It does sound a little stalkerish but I think I'll give you this one pass," she teased as she glanced back up at him with a small grin. "You're Edwin right? Carlisle's son?"
He was aware of his nature, not often being able to lead a conversation without coming across as awkward, or strange. To a human, perhaps he appeared as such, but he was doing his best to fit the social norm. There was much she did not know, but he wished to keep it that way. She was fragile, all humans were, and he did not intend to ruin that. "Sorry , I am not the finest with words." He spoke, rubbing the back of his neck. He chuckled upon her words, nodding a little. "Edward but yes, Carlisle's son is right." He was the closest to a father he had ever known.
She cursed her boss for keeping the diner open longer than it should have been. She should have been home long before now, there was a curfew for goodness sake. Shaking her head, Bella pulled up the hood of her jacket and pulled it tightly around herself as she walked down the street. She was only a few blocks from her apartment and she wanted nothing more than to curl up in her bed with her dogs and read a book, was that too much to ask. Hearing something behind her she glanced around and frowned, "who's there?" she called as she looked around, her fingers gripping her arm slightly as she kept herself grounded.
Despite advice, Edward has chosen to wander into the new found town, exploring the new territory. He was not phased by the animal attacks, perhaps by poor judgement, however, if he could, he intended to safeguard any humans on his track, reducing any blood shed that make come along the way. He had turned into the next street before his gaze met another, brows raising at the moment his eyes locked with hers. "Just me -- Bella, isn't it?" He realised the moment he spoke, how strange it sounded. "I uh, know Charlie, before it sounds a little stalkerish."
IT WAS WEIRD TO SAY THE LEAST; Allison had thought it, one foot in the grave and one foot balancing in life. She had been all over Beacon Hills despite the fact that her feet actually ached with all the walking she had done so far. Allison hadn't realized she hadn't been able to keep her facial expression neutral. She had been a natural at it once... before she found some version of Heaven with the fallen of Beacon Hills. Oddly enough, she hadn't seen her mother or Kate. "Sorry," she mumbled over a whisper. "Do what you want." Her? She seemed to be looking for someone or someones. She couldn't be hypocritical of others... even if the hairs on the back of her neck stood up.
His intention had been to lighten the mood, and yet it seemed be had failed in doing just that. He noted the increase in her heartbeat, her fear was recognisable and somewhat captivating. He shook his head, attempting to relinquish such thoughts from his mind. He had to focus, and not be consumed by temptation. "Are you alright?" He queried, eyes locking with hers for just a moment. "You seem , out of sorts?"
"I wouldn't call it hypocrisy rather than a legal loophole." Carlisle said breezily. "If a medical emergency happens then I would be abiding by the Good Samitarian law which would override the curfew. " The vampire looked at his son with ease. "And if it doesn't I can say I have a legal reason to assume such an emergency would happen." Carlisle returned the smirk. "As the kids say, checkmate?"
He despised when Carlisle was right, which much to his dismay, was a lot of the time. He had to admit, he admired him more than he would say, in avoidance of increasing his ego. "Go figure, it's all merely an excuse for you to venture out." He smirked, tilting his head as he leaned back against the wall. "Touche, you got me there." He held his hands up in defence and laughed. "I have no excuse except curiosity, I suppose."
Cassie couldn't help but chuckle at Edward's response. His teasing had a way of lightening the mood, even on a night as tense as a full moon. "Fair point," she admitted with a playful smile. "I suppose we're both breaking the rules tonight. But you have to admit, there's something captivating about the full moon, isn't there? Besides, I'm not one to back down from a little adventure." Her eyes glinted with a mischievous spark as she spoke, clearly unapologetic for her decision to venture out despite the curfew.
He admired her spirit, even if he had concerns that it may be the wrong choice. He was aware that she was human, and he could only begin to imagine the dangers she faced out here , if only she knew the reality. He contemplated that perhaps she did know, and did not care. Either way, he was concerned for her. "I suppose you are right, the moon doesn't shine like this very often, but you know that full moons are notorious for bad luck." He reminded , shrugging his shoulders. "Adventure or perhaps idiocy? Either way, we can face it together."
jasper looked at his brother, the smallest of smiles twitching his lips upwards in understanding. he knew all too well of edwards loneliness, and of his longing to be apart of a partnership of some kind. he took another sip of his coffee, contemplating his words before continuing. "you're right, this town has....challenges." the temptation around so many humans was strong, his appearance with them short and brief.
He noted how he was struggling, and only wished he could ease it in some way. Unlike some of his family, Jasper had significantly struggled with blood lust, more than anyone he knew. "Want to go somewhere without such challenges? I know a few bars where humans don't tend to go -- we can catch up properly?"
❝ I sort of have permission . Perks of the job ❞ Of course , she knew swan and stilinski would give her an earful and permanently give her desk duty . She was pregnant and it was dangerous but kaya wanted to investigate . The cause of death was too strange . Animal or supernatural ?
He did not understand what she meant, brows narrowing in response. "What is the job exactly?" He asked, hands moving to shove into his pockets.
alice would raise her hands in innocence and defense as if to say she wasn't going to comment on his whereabouts. she already knew edward wouldn't be listening to anything she had to say. " i wouldn't dare uttering a single word. although, i already knew you wouldn't listen. just had to say that. " while alice wasn't the type that sought out violence, she knew how to defend herself better then most others due to jaspers rigid training regime.
He could not resist the chuckle that fled his lips, knowing him and Alice were too alike for good. "See, you tell on me, I tell on you, it's how it goes." He eld his hands up in defence, a smirk creeping onto his lips. "Where is Jasper?" He was used to them being joined at the hip.
"Don't give me that look -- you are out here too, even under such a curfew." The vampire teased, smirk reaching his lips. He was not easily scared by wolf kind, despite the endless feuds they had endured with them in the past. Edward, however, was intrigued by his new environment and would not let the full moon stop him on search of answers. "Hypocritical much?"
there was a genuine concern in the other's voice that took bella by surprise. she hadn't made many friends since leaving phoenix a few months prior and had become somewhat used to existing in the background. she avoided drawing attention to herself and mostly kept her head down. yet here was this boy, looking at her with an intense expression that she couldn't quite read. attempting to swallow down the nerves that were building within her, bella allowed herself to feel a sudden jolt of courage. part of her brain was screaming at her to run, to get away from this stranger as quickly as possible, but the other part that was curious — no, eager to learn more about him was currently winning the battle.
his question momentarily snapped her back into reality, leading her to finally break eye contact with him as she looked down at her ankle. it was only then that she noticed she was, in fact, not entirely okay. there was a dull ache in her ankle that wasn't bad enough to warrant any serious concern, but it was obvious that she'd hurt something. "uh, i think i just twisted my ankle," she admitted, wiggling it a little to see how bad the injury was, which elicited a wince of pain. her cheeks flushed under his intense gaze when she looked back up at him. there was something about his eyes that caught her attention. "but i'm fine, seriously. it would've been way worse if you hadn't caught me, so, thank you."
There was something about her, the naivety was somewhat enticing, as much as Edward knew it was wrong. However, there was more to her then just that. She was intrigued and often , humans did not have that response on him. He had every intention on walking away, being civil before dismissing himself. This was due to thoughts that possessed him, of which he felt may become dangerous.
Her comment caused a drift in his gaze, fixating upon her ankle work concern in his eyes. However, he knew it could have been worse. "Do you want me to help you get to wherever you're going?" He asked, a weak smile on his lips as he spoke. He did not wish to intrude but knew walking may now be difficult. He smiled at her appreciation, even if it was not needed. "It is no bother."
the evening class bella was currently enrolled in was going to be the death of her. literally. it was pitch black outside by the time class dismissed, and with her truck currently in the shop, her options for getting back home were limited. if charlie knew that she'd be walking home alone, he'd ground her for who knows how long. some fresh air and an excuse to be alone with her thoughts led her to opting to walk home. beacon hills was new to them, and bella wasn't sure what to make of it yet. her classmates were decent enough, but there was always an eerie feeling that followed her whenever she went through town. like there was something out there, watching her, lurking in the shadows.
paranoia was beginning to set in by the time she reached the halfway mark. campus was only about a forty-five minute walk away from the swan residence, but bella had never been the most . . . coordinated person. before she had time to register what was happening, her ankle began to twist, and she felt herself miss a step and begin to tumble down onto the street. by the time she realized what was happening, however, there were strong arms wrapped around her. normally, a stranger showing up in the dark and catching her fall would be a reason for concern. but as soon as she made eye contact with the stranger, bella felt a wave of warmth rush through her. he was captivating in a way that she couldn't even begin to describe. "i — yeah, yeah, i'm okay. i guess i should be paying more attention to where the sidewalks end." she cleared her throat as she stood up straighter, finally coming face-to-face with the other. "uh, thank you . . . for saving me from my own clumsiness," she added, with a nervous chuckle.
her presence was captivating, eyes pierce in the light, every wavering breath was there to deter his callous intentions. he had to withhold this, not wishing to hinder his families fresh start in the town. however, her scent was tempting, everything about her was like a temptress to him. however, the gentleman in him did what he did best, avoid and distract, preventing him from attacking someone of whom was vulnerable , precious.
clearing his throat, edward steadied the figure before stepping back, giving her some space to steady herself and not invade her space. in truth, the distance did not help much , he could hear her heartbeat, and the way it began to slowly steady after the fright. he was unsure what was different about her, or why she captivated his attention -- but he would find out.
"it is quite alright , it is easy to lose your step in the night." he warranted, not wishing to frighten her any more than he already had. he did not want to be the man that lurked in the dark, for one a woman would quicken her step to avoid. he had met her father, but was unaware of who his daughter had actually been, or how entranced he had become of her. "are you alright? not hurt at all?"
He never had any issues with the Cullen family, in fact Charlie quite enjoyed having conversations with both Carlisle and Esme for they were good people. "Yes well a job with a bit better pay is hard to turn down, plus Bella and I thought it would be a good idea to move. Kind of a fresh start together you know?" Charlie explained with a small smile as he thought about his daughter, he was excited to learn all about her all over again.
He only hoped he could keep things calm, not wishing to attract attention to himself, or his family. He only hopes that Charlie finds the same peace in a new location. "I suppose so, you can't fault that." He nodded, smiling weakly as he did. "I think we all need a fresh start, to reinvent ourselves." Edward, however, had many attempts at that, always leading to the same end result , having to move endlessly to contain who he is.
Klaus gave a small shrug and shook his head. "There are a lot that will say that winter is overrated and that it needs to pass quickly but I disagree," he sighed softly. "Are you afraid of the dark? Only fables of the scary monsters exist there hasn't been any proof," he teased lightly.
His comment made him chuckle, eyes rolling in response. Whatever lurked in the dark did not phase him, however, he had to admit, the uncertainty was looming. "Why would I be scared of what is in the dark?" He smirked, tilting his head. "I enjoy the darker nights, but you do find that danger lurks, even if not inhuman."
