Survive the Drowning Deep is wrapped! Time to try to get this one buttoned up, too! The end of Until Dawn is a little more straightforward, so I'm hoping to bang out a bunch of chapters this month. I'm working on trying to finish most/all of my outstanding fics this year while I work on others in the background. I really like posting chapters as I finish them, but I think that most of my fics benefit more from having a few chapters finished ahead so that I can do more substantial edits as I go instead of feeling like I need to rewrite the whole thing like I will with Gentlemen's Agreement, Survive the Drowning Deep, and What Lurks Below (and probably this one, too).

Thanks for reading everyone! I hope you enjoyed it! I really appreciate all the comments and kudos that kept me going, despite my struggles with this fic. It was the second fic I started after I got back into fandom and writing in 2024 and I think it shows lolol. Personally, this is actually a fic I'm really not proud of. I finished it just to have the bones to chew on for a rewrite, to be honest; plus I really hate leaving fics unfinished and I know there were some of you who were really enjoying the ride! I think the original idea for this fic was a little too vague and then a little too all over the place once I'd kind of figured out most of the trajectory. I'm still fairly new to writing horror and ESPECIALLY when I started this one, I had no idea what I was doing. Hopefully, my other fics and projects have honed my craft a bit more and I'll be able to circle back around to this in a couple months and dig into a rewrite, since I still like the IDEA of this fic, but I already know I could do it WAY better. Hope to see you all when I start posting the rewrite or on future fics! ✌🏻

What is up with lefty types pushing to learn practical skills (sewing/gardening/etc whatever) as like "you'll need to know this after The Revolution:tm:" and not, like, "this is a useful skill to help yourself & others in your communities Right Now". It makes me sad sometimes that my college years were when I was young, undiagnosed, and miserable, because sometimes I think of all the things I might have actually enjoyed or engaged with better now that I'm deep in my healing journey.

Like, I'll see posts about modern art and remember laughing doing the "har har I don't get it" in my Art History class. The professor didn't really bother teaching how to engage with modern art—honestly, she barely taught us how to appreciate other art, but she definitely put in a little more work with the "classics."

And maybe this is just a "growing up" thing but I feel like it's literally only been in the last few years that I've started trying to appreciate art and museums more and I just wish that I had been able to do that when I was younger. I might have actually followed my dream to work in a museum if I'd done that...

I'm following different dreams now, I guess, but it's just...a little sad that I've had to teach myself these things based on internet posts (but I suppose that's one of the actual benefits of the internet, isn't it?)

I feel like some people need to relearn Genre Expectations... "Man, this tragedy sucks!!! Why didn't they just do XYZ, then everything could have ended happily!!" well, then it wouldn't be a tragedy, would it. "Man, this lighthearted teen romcom is terrible, it's so sappy and unrealistic!!" Well, yeah. If it had been gritty and dark, it wouldn't have been a lighthearted romcom, would it.
