So, yeah! This will be the official Cuphead DitD blog! I’ll be posting updates, sneak peaks, and finished videos here. I might also need voice auditions, artists’ assistance, and more, so expect posts for these. This is a huge undertaking and passion project of mine. Each script takes months to write and every minute of animation takes weeks to finish. I put a lot of work into this and I really hope you enjoy!

Hey. I just want to say your work is so inspiring. You are practically alone, writing the script with your dad, animating on your iPad and editing using fee programs like imovie flipaclip capcut and procreate. And it's phenomenal. As a new digital artist myself I always doubted my skills and if they were ever going to live up to my own expectations, but this proves to me of I just put my mind to it I can do anything.

That’s amazing! I’m so honored to inspire you, thank you so much!

I am working on building a team of other fans working just for the love of the franchise and I do animate on a Wacom now, having to quit from Flipaclip because I personally just couldn’t handle the new Plus restrictions (although if I truly was patient enough I could cowboy through it), and there’s definitely free/cheap programs to keep using (I use $0 Krita now, and one of my friends uses $10 Toonsquid).

Thank you again, and keep going at it and keep getting better, price truly isn’t a limit of skill!

Good news! The first draft of the Sugarland Shimmy script has been completed!

Current count of every episode: -Botanic Panic: 40 pages, 8,818 words -Ruse of an Ooze: 43 pages, 8,433 words -Threatenin' Zeppelin: 37 pages, 7,973 words -Clip-Joint Calamity: 54 pages, 11,873 words -Floral Fury: 67 pages, 14,588 words -Sugarland Shimmy: 53 pages, 14,286 words

That's an average of 49 pages and 10,995 words! With 20 episodes, this gives us maybe 219,900 words we're looking at. That's a fourth of the Bible!

Hello! I just wanted to know how long a single, 6 second animation takes for you. Also, how long has this project been going on for?

It's a little hard to say, because nothing I've worked on in this project has been six seconds so far, and final time doesn't correlate with spent time. Assuming you mean just from storyboard to color and not compositing and all that, I've spent about a month on two two-second clips each, a month to animate 14 seconds, four months on a one-minute long scene. It depends on the animation complexity, really!

The first animation I started I belieeeve in January 2024? But the idea for this project started in late Spring of 2023, and actual scripts started that Summer. So, not too long, only... *checks date* 2 YEARS?!

-The Devil is prideful and arrogant because he knows how to play mortals like a fiddle. He has an alluring, charismatic voice. He holds an especially strong hatred towards the brothers, and that’s who he’s talking to in the lines below! Your audition will also include the last verse in The Cuphead Show!’s The Devil Song: “Yes, they call me Old Scratch, Mr. S, the Big D / I’m the King of the Underworld… and it’s GREAT TO BE ME! Aha… AHA…. AHAHAHAHA…!” Let’s hear your range!

-Elder Kettle has seen many a war in his days, but his wisdom and kindness keep his heart soft. How much he truly knows is always unknown, and he manages to make any senseless sentence sound sage.
